Excellent service and speed. They are a sister company to BT but they are a lot cheaper than BT.
I have never had any issues with connection or speed.

Reading all the bad reviews, I was slightly concerned to move over to Plusnet, asked around and spoke to people that actually use them. I came to the unsurprising conclusion that most reviewers are simply venting their frustrations, so here is a review that does the opposite.

I went ahead and arranged to switch providers, it went perfect from order to delivery, the router came in the post a couple of days before the line was activated, it was a breeze to set up and configure to work with my very specific network setup, ok I am an IT professional, so would expect it to be easy.

On the switch over day, I got an email and text saying the services had been switched over. Switched everything on, and it just worked. Speed test on my line is the same as it was before with the "main" provider in the UK, so no issues there, the communication from Plusnet was spot on, kept me in the loop with what to expect and by when.

All in was probably the easiest change of provider I have been through to date, it all just worked from the start and happened when asked for, and has not had any downtime since, lets hope that doesn't change though.

I've been with Plusnet for years - occasionally something goes wrong - my router died recently and it just took a phone call to get that resolved. Now I'm moving house and I spoke to the house move team who has made this really painless. I can honestly say Plusnet's customer support is always outstanding and so many other companies could learn a lot from them. Thanks :)

Was with Sky Broadband who advised I couldn't have more than 8Mb connection. Checked the BT Exchange who advised I could get upto 15Mb. Looked at Plusnet who advised that I could have 12Mb for £11.99 which has saved me £6 per month and almost doubled my connection speed. At best, I could only average 4-6Mb with Sky. I'd strongly recommend that people check-out Plusnet as they're realy good.

I have been with Plusnet from a few days after it was originally launched.
During that time I have had 3 problems, all of which required me to phone their (free) helpline. Each time I was put through to a very helpful person who talked me through the problem and the means of correcting it, on one occasion requiring me to operate my PC whilst he gave me instructions on what to do.
This took about 20 minutes and the problem was solved.
Last year my contract came up for renewal and when I phoned Plusnet to
arrange it, I was told by the plusnet employee that I could continue on my existing package and that, because they were offering new customers 3 months free I could have the same.
I shall be staying with Plusnet and look forward to many more years of satisfaction.

I transferred over to plusnet from TalkTalk thankfully it was after Ofcom put in new rules which allowed me to transfer mid contract. I'm so glad I did, speed and reliability is fantastic, UK based calls,my only gripe is that the router they supply you is not the greatest, but I use a BT Hub 5 that works flawlessly. The prices are going up for plusnet in September but i will not be transferring as this ISP has to be the best ive been with, you wouldn't think it was owned by BT. Well done Plusnet!!!

We were originally with Talk Talk when we signed up with Virgin to get a better deal. However, despite several texts from Virgin confirming they would be attending for the installation, no one actually turned up! Were very annoyed especially as my husband, who was very ill with the flu at that time, spent the day moving furniture, taking stuff off of wardrobes etc., so that they could run the cables. Decided to stay with Talk Talk who informed us that it was "too late to cancel the cancellation" and disconnected our broadband and telephone line the next day. Bit annoyed with Talk Talk and Virgin so signed up with Plusnet. Very smooth from start to finish. They reconnected our phone line the very next day. Had to wait a couple of weeks for fibre optic broadband to be installed as they were fully booked, however, on the day of the installation the engineer (who was very nice) turned up at 8.00am ringing beforehand to say he was on his way. Throughout the 2 week wait for the broadband we received regular texts and emails with updates. Since having the service installed we have had absolutely no problems with the broadband or telephone. My only slight niggle was that I had to ring them a couple of times (once to get the caller display added to the phone and the other time to confirm they would still be coming to install as Virgin made me a bit paranoid)and had to wait about 50 minutes on one occasion and about 35 minutes on the other before I got to speak to anyone. However, as the calls are free I just got on with my life whilst having the phone on loudspeaker. Once I did speak to them, they were very pleasant on the phone and actually sounded like they knew what they were talking about. All in all I am very pleased with their service and would definitely recommend them.

Although I've recently moved to another provider due to more competitive pricing of broadband and calls abroad package I have good things to say about Plusnet. Service was very reliable, UK support helpful and pleasant to deal with. Even when it came to terminating services everything was handled properly including arrangement of a refund for overpayed service days.
Would not hesitate to be customer again in the future.

Good speed and updates available with notifications when they are having work. Always friendly customer services when I need to ring (which is extremely rare). The only customer service problem we ever had was caused by BT Wholesale delaying the process, which plusnet rallied around, got it sorted quickly and reimbursed appropriately, no quibble. By far the better provide outside cable at the moment.

I have been with Plusnet for 15 years and have not had an issue with them. TBH I have no idea why other folks reviewing them appear to have so many issues! Many of the issues folks appear to have are related to their own phone line between their house and the exchange - they would have the same issue with ALL ISP's and its up to BT to fix it not the ISP. The router Plusnet supplies is junk - but really - does anyone rely on these £5 routers - all 'Free' routers are junk including the BT Home Hubs. Goto your local PC world and pick up a decent ASUS or Netgear if you require reliable comms. I am an IT professional so I have little need for Plusnet's support line. Whenever I have contacted them its been done online rather than over the phone and the issue/query has been dealt with efficiently. You'll struggle to get through on the phone aye, but honestly who resorts to voice comms these days. If your internet is down, use your smartphone to raise a ticket with them!

I have only been with Plusnet for a short while but, contrary to other users, I have been very impressed with their efficiency. The only reason I gave customer service 4 stars was because of the long wait to get through on the phone, but once I spoke to one of the team I found them to be very efficient and my problem was dealt with speedily.

There is a lot of complaints about plusnet but I want to lighten the load a little.
I am really happy with plusnets service and customer service.
I've had problems twice in 4 years of being with this provider and twice the problem was dealt with professionally with exceptional customer service...... Last problem took BT outreach (who too were excellent) to fit new wiring from my living room to front door then from my 3rd floor to ground then a new router sent from plusnet finally sorted the problem.
I pay for 80 meg and get anywhere between 45 and 75 which is ample for multi connected devices and I want to than plusnet for brilliant communication and their fantastic hands on approach supporting my while my Internet played up.
Nothing in this world is perfect and their staff do the best they can... Usually your helped better by your attitude too, why call ranting at someone who's sat on the phone all day absorbing everyone's stress... They are only human and need your understanding too.
Thankyou plusnet for awsome service, you've a customer for life here and believe me, I've had other providers in the past but plusnet I'd far more superior in its customer care.
    I highly recommend plusnet

    From a very happy customer

    Mason.

Line can be a bit long to get through to in occasion. But can't say I've ever had a problem with Plusnet. The router gets internet all over the house without any extensions needed. Never capped, have a 30mbs plan and normally around the 20 to 25 mark. I'd stay with them if I could, but I can't get the best deals as an existing customer, so have to move.

We changed from BT over to Plusnet for tv and broadband couple of years ago. We've recently upgraded to fibre broadband. We rarely have to contact Plusnet for anything. When we do they are there to help on the phone or webchat. We're happy with the service we get. Recently someone tried to get us to change to 'sky' and I said No because what isn't broken don't try and fix it! We're with Plusnet for now and the foreseeable future.

I have been with PlusNet for over 8 years, including 3 house moves.
During this time, I have always received good customer service from knowledgeable staff.
Prior to PlusNet I was with Orange, Wanadoo, NTL and others. Having a competent person at the end of the phone / ticket system is still a refreshing change!

Response times for customer service has increased since they became more popular - from ~2 hours in 2007 to 48-72 hours now. However, from my experience they have kept the technically competent staff.

I have just upgraded to fibre broadband and couldn't be happier with the way the process has been handled so far.

I've now had Plusnet for a year having "escaped " from BT. I have nothing but praise for Plusnet, their customer service is first rate and their staff really helpful. My broadband speed is not mind blowing but is plenty good enough to record two hd tv programmes simultaneously.

Now in my seventh year with PN, not one outage in that time. Consistent 35MB/9MB connection on 40/10 package. Hub One cheap and cheerful, PN community forum shows easy set up for BT HH6 available ebay etc for £10/£20, much better wifi.

Email service slow and clumsy to use, anyway you're far better on independent supplier so you keep your email if you change ISP.

Accounts system shambolic, renewals or changes charged full rate so you have to phone to restore promised discounts. Staff overloaded but helpful once you get through.

Apart from these failings I recommend PN as totally reliable and great value for money.

With a New Year came a new provider: PlusNet. After looking through a ton of reviews here and elsewhere I settled on them as their customer service was rated as excellent. Indeed, they exceeded my expectations. I switched from Virgin Media because of their price hikes. However, because Virgin is on a seperate (monopolised) network when you switch to PlusNet the old contract is NOT automatically cancelled. I was not aware of this and so ended up incurring over £100 in fees with Virgin Media for an unused service. To my surprise, when I settled this fee and called PlusNet they sympathized with my position and - after reviewing their sign-up pipeline - decided that they had no informed me well enough that I had to manually cancel Virgin Media. As a result they are reimbursing the extra incurred fees.

In addition, the internet so far (2 months) has been stable at about 70mbps and almost as strong as Virgins (108mpbs). For about half the price, this is a very good deal.

Also if you are looking to get ethernet by cable or deal with pesky iron-heavy walls I recommend a ethernet over power adaptor. I was able to use one without any hassle to extend the network to the living room.

What a caring company! Having recently received a new router from them, I asked if they had a router without a blue light as it was affecting my seizures. The answer was no, but immediately they said I could get one on the open market, and would credit me with £35.00 towards it! They did not need me to return the old one. This is the sort of service you would expect from expensive providers. I thoroughly recommend them!

Very pleased with plusnet they are delivering the exact experience I had with Sky but are £10.00 per month cheaper. Only moan I have is the transition from Sky to Plusnet took 24 hours, so I was without an internet connection for longer than I wished. I found Plusnet customer services very helpful when I rang to complain and they kept me upto date with the progress of my order. I would recommend Plusnet on my personal experience of their service, however, I have one of those green BT boxes at the end of my road and have been told told this makes a difference to the download speed excetra.

I suspect many of the recent 1 star are fakes, someone trying to reduce plus net rating. I have no problems with plus net, other than being put in a queue for customer support. Speed is good, never drops below 70Mb/s. Very few drop outs (I can't remember one since BT (or whatever they are called now) fixed a fault on the line about 3 years ago. I have been with pmus net for at least 15 years and can not see me changing ant time soon.

Cracking service. We switched over from Sky and the whole process was absolutely seem less. I signed late in the evening using the online chat (which is a fantastic service) and then basically didn't have to lift a finger. They sorted the line out with sky and I was kept up to date at every stage with emails and text. They have even designed the router to fit through letter boxes so I didn't need to collect from Post Office. Basically plug and play with the router. Can't comment on how good the router is as I have WiFi turned off and use BT whole home, but a really seamless service.

Left Plusnet a year ago to go back to TALKTALK (who really, really do have poor customer service) this was mainly because my existing TV supplier no longer offered Sky Sports on a monthly basis. Bad move!!! have bought myself out of the contract to return to Plusnet.

Changing back to Plusnet and switching to fibre has been a good experience. A few teething problems and a misunderstanding were quickly and efficienlty sorted by friendly staff who knew their stuff and held real conversations rather than just finding a relevant(????) part of their script to read.

It's great to be back - can't understand most people's comments. Perhaps it is like other walks of life - doing a good job is only what people expect and therefore do not comment, whereas the relative few with bad experiences make a lot of noise.

It's very early to submit a review because we changed to PlusNet only because our previous supplier is unavailable in the area we have just moved to. I have had cause to speak on the phone a few times to make sure everything went live on the day we moved in and the prompt responses, professionalism, good sense and politeness of each of the staff I have spoken to have been really excellent. Keep up the good work, PlusNet!

Felt I needed to add a review as after deciding to switch from Sky all the reviews were bad for plusnet and I was starting to think I had made a hugh mistake. However the change over went smoothly and on the date they had agreed, the new router arrived the day before also. When I plugged the router in was expecting problems but no everything worked 1st attempt. So what about speed of broadband? Well was getting 18mbs with Sky and now 21mbs with plusnet so a slight increase so all good. The WiFi on router is good can get it in all rooms but we are a bungalow. The only downside which might be due to the WiFi channel the router is on, is that if we put the microwave on it disrupts the WiFi for streaming. Have Googled and apparently WiFi and microwaves use the same frequency. So far plusnet have delivered everything they said they would and perhaps people only write a review for this kind of service when they have a problem.

Surprised to read the negative reviews of PlusNet on here. I've been with them for 10 years and I cannot fault their customer service and value for money. Ordered PlusNet TV and the youeview box came the next day! All worked perfectly, and whilst I was on the phone they offered a reduced renewal on my broadband which meant the TV package was was effectively free. Speed seems fine, we watch netflix, YouTube etc a lot with no problem.

Not very often do you find a review to say they're having a good experience with a provider, and I've definitely had bad experiences in the past with different ones I won't comment on.

I've been with PlusNet now since Aug 2014. The set up was very smooth, I did it online. I was asked to pay a months worth upfront, which I paid there and then. They sent a confirmation email almost immediately. A week later they sent the set up box containing everything I needed, but was asked not to plug it in until the date they requested, I think it was around two weeks after. I plugged it in on that date and I've not had any problems really.

We have 7 devices connected wirelessly to it and a console connected via the Ethernet cable, granted not all at the same time but there really hasn't been a problem with the connection and speed. It always goes as fast as the device will keep up with. It's very reliable and even when going out of range which is usually around two doors up when standing outside, as soon as you walk back into range you're connected again.

I've not had to contact the customer services up to yet so I can't comment on that part, but as far as my bills are concerned they're the same amount every month, which is the amount I had agreed to when signing up and it's taken out on the same day every month.

Not reading any of the reviews until now could have been a big mistake .
However just switched over to plunset after been given appalling service by talk talk as I was an old aol customer.
So far I cant find anything negative about the service ive been provided with. Fair enough you have a long wait to get through to them , but no more than other places and ive only ever used the free phone number to call so I'm not being charged.
Internet is stable connection is good does what I use it for.
Don't get the connection fee think that's a bit steep , but all the providers do it now.

I upgraded from SKY broadband as I'd had enough with paying through the nose for everything. Change over went well and the engineer installed the fibre modem without any problems. It also connected perfectly to my AirPort Extreme. After initial settling period of about a week I have a very reliable and extremely fast connection meaning large downloads are achieved in a breeze.

Plusnet are also on the BT network so means you can pay for line renatal up front reducing the effective monthly cost.

I would have no problem recommending Plusnet to anyone excellent experience after 12 months and still happy.

Escaped from Virgin as their price went up far too much and very unreliable, it took some time to get set up with Plusnet but that was down to open reach cockup. So far I have had no problems, I'm getting average 42 mbps and the whole house has good WiFi coveridge. Customer service has been excellent. I made a good move

Speed has been very good comparatively to friends with other providers. Brilliant customer service (they accidentally overcharged us and responded by refunding us and giving us the next month free). Wifi never gone down unexpectedly.
