I have just looked at other reviews and I see most people have the same opinion as me. DONT JOIN PLUSNET!. I am the wrong age to be very computer literate, so assumed that using Plusnets own email service would surfice. What a complete load of rubbish it is. I havent that many emails in folders and "Live", but it has slowed down to take approximately 30 second to open one email. I have phoned to complain several times. Each time without resolve. The last time I spoke to complain a stupid woman said it was OK for it to take 30 seconds NOOOOOOOOOOOO, are you insane? Reliability is rubbish too. PLEASE PLEASE GO ELSWHERE. They will get the message.

I have had intermittent broadband service and poor phone reception for weeks. I have had three engineers round who cannot resolve the issue. All Plusnet do is to try and deflect the blame to Openreach. If Plusnet run their service using Openreach, then it is Plusnets responsibility to coordinate Openreach resources to fix the problem. Poor service.

Took my payment, setup a direct debit, no communication whatsoever that they wouldn't be sending an engineer "until further notice". 30 mins currently and still waiting on their lines to cancel. Cash grabbing ********.

Just spent an hour on the phone trying to get my £70 cash back for joining them. Basically told it isn't them that pays it but the promotions company. I asked for details of the promotions company and they didn't know who the are. So don't expect to get the cashback ... it's a con and Plusnet wash their hands of it.

Cracking service. We switched over from Sky and the whole process was absolutely seem less. I signed late in the evening using the online chat (which is a fantastic service) and then basically didn't have to lift a finger. They sorted the line out with sky and I was kept up to date at every stage with emails and text. They have even designed the router to fit through letter boxes so I didn't need to collect from Post Office. Basically plug and play with the router. Can't comment on how good the router is as I have WiFi turned off and use BT whole home, but a really seamless service.

I can't even comment on the broadband reliability as they took my money a month ago (I foolishly paid upfront for a year) and haven't bothered to actually provide broadband! They did kindly cancel my old supplier though so I currently have no service at all.

They allegedly turned it on on Wednesday (after I chased three times-don't bother sending emails or contacting them on twitter) yet the light doesn't even come on the router. Apparently an engineer is going to call me back in the next 72 hours. Currently has been 48 hours.

I have to work from home and am currently tethered to my mobile phone to enable me to do so. I've already paid an extra £35 for data so that's awesome. I have no tv as its all through WiFi.

The folks on the phone are nice enough and seem embarrassed at how shoddy this all is so that's something. They can't do anything about it though. And apparently can't even offer me a goodwill gesture as I've paid upfront. I just want WiFi not a goodwill gesture anyway.

Save yourself grief, do not sign up. It seems cheap but you might as well throw money in the bin, you'll get as much broadband service.

Absolutely horrendous Broadband I’m that annoyed I’ve had to make another Review. For the past few months of being with Plusnet there have been nothing but bad, the customer service is awful and not helpful at all, the connection is unreliable and usually only reaches speeds of 8-10mbs (megabytes per second) and I can barely even browse and search with the Wi-Fi with ought being disconnected. I cannot remember one time where the Wi-Fi was at least “Decent”. This Broadband needs to be shutdown and that isn’t an over-exaggeration either look at the rest of the reviews. My main advice: Do not waist your money on this crappy broadband- Is not worth it

The actual broadband experience has been dreadful. When we signed up, the router was not properly configured and I was on call to them for an hour to sort it. To their credit, the advisor was great.

Then it worked, for a bit. Until it started randomly cutting out every few minutes and the speed plummeted. My guaranteed speed was 8mb but I barely got 3mb.

In the end, I just switched and paid early cancellation fees. They are cheap but you get what you pay for.

Had fibre since February 2019. Never had a problem. Never needed to contact them. Now having problems in the last week or so with my wireless connection dropping out every 24 hours or so. I just called and was told they do not guarantee a wireless connection. Never heard such rubbish in all my life. I said should I plug my mobile into my router, and my tablet, echo devices, firestick and smartplugs? Such a stupid comment. Apparently the warranty on the router only lasts 12 months and amazingly it's just out of date and they want £150 for a new one. As my contract is up in August I asked how much it would be to leave early which is £63 so I know what I will be choosing. Never again...

Really bad mobile network and terrible administration. They messed up my direct debit and then the missed payment was recorded onto my credit report even though it was their mistake, and they didn’t inform me of the issue until my phone stopped working, I could have resolved it immediately if I’d known, i had plenty of funds.

The network did not connect to 4G in an inner city with loads of masts. I ended needing to move providers because of lack of service and then i got charged £28 even though I wasn’t even under a contract anymore and it was their service that was the problem. They have zero loyalty to customers and care more about getting new ones.

Absolutely terrible experience with plusnet. I was told that I would receive £75 cashback upon signing up with plusnet (on a recorded phone call). After signing up and FIVE phone calls over the space of 3 months plusnet kept insisting that the cashback cheque would arrive soon. After this I began written correspondence and they began to claim that I had signed up online and there was no cashback offer that I was eligible for (effectively accusing me of lying). I replied that this was not true and sent a list of dates & times of all phone calls, requesting that as they were recorded conversations I wanted them to be listened to otherwise I would be referring the case to Ofcom. Someone got back to me a few days later to apologise and say that after listening to the phone calls my cheque was in the post. To have to chase this up for 3 months and then be accused of lying was infuriating and exhausting and all-in-all a terrible experience in terms of their customer service.

Customer service agent was rude and did not explain the process to my satisfaction. I then asked to speak to another agent or supervisor for better support. Agent refused to do this and cut me off. He also logged the fault as a phone fault when I clearly explained to him the problem was with my bb speed. The engineer who checked the line confirmed that there was no fault with the line. This has resulted in a further 3-6 days in identifying the problem with the bb service plusnet is supplying to me. Plusnet is still unable to advise on how long it will take to fix the problem.

Was more than happy with my plus net broadband from July 2019-February 2020... however I moved to a new address on 21st Feb and since then I’ve had endless problems.

I phoned up the week before I moved to inform plus net that I would want to continue their services at my new property... the man told me I would not have to pay any charges for moving etc if I upgraded to a more expensive package... I agreed and was told I’d receive an email containing the date an engineer would come to set up the new broadband at my new address...

Fast forward just under 2 weeks and still haven’t heard anything, so I call up to them be told that the man who took my phone call did not cancel my broadband at old address (so it was still up and running and I was being charged for it still despite me no longer living there) and that none of my services had been changed over to the new address or anything...also, that the broadband speed I was told I would receive at new address would be too slow to even run netflix.. so I can have a faster speed for free to accommodate the issue
So he tells me he will book me an engineer date for the 13th March which is another 2 weeks away... offered a reimbursement of what would be my first months bill - £29.99 and I accepted the 13th March

Now Monday 9th March I receive an email saying my engineer date will now be the 17th March - the following week from what it should be.
So I ring up plusnet explaining that I am not at home on Tuesdays and that I was confused why they had changed my original date of the 13th... apparently engineer availability had changed etc (not exactly anything to do with me yet I lose out)
Told I can have a £25.00 credit on my account fir data or by add one... both something I’m not interested in as I don’t use BT and I have unlimited data on my phone contract..

So now have the date of the 18th... if the date isn’t again changed by plus net... really not hopeful about the service I’ll continue to receive especially as I am still being charged for the services from my previous address

I have now had no WiFi services since the 21st of February and by the time is is up and running at my new address it will have been 5 weeks since telling them I was moving and 4 weeks since I had actually moved.

I am very happy I chose Plusnet to be my internet provider despite negative reviews as I have nothing but positive things to say about them. Firstly their customer service is excellent compared to the customer service of TalkTalk which is appalling, Plusnet seem to actually care about their customers. I did have an issue paying online but after a phonecall, it's all sorted. I've also not been disconnected once & I'm on the lower speed. I am one happy customer. If you choosing between Plusnet or TalkTalk, choose Plusnet.

Matching up with a lot of others was happy been with Plusnet since 2016 went to renew contract as offered. Problem this is not an option online just reverts back to current contract special offer is not valid. Try chat to be advised as not new customer need to call. When are these companies going to realise when you have got a customer easier to keep by offering deals better or equal to new customers. Yes another lost another gained but you could have kept both. Sort out the customer service it is appalling.

WHERE DO I START!!!
I was really happy for the first year then things went down hill drastically! When my renewal went through the monthly payment was supposed to be £27. Plusnet were taking £57 out my account for 4 months which took a further 3 months to get back! The Internet was ridiculous slow and kept dropping out, sometimes we didnt have any internet for 2-3 hours a day!!! When phoning customer services you just get LIED to, I kid you not I was on the phone to them 3 times a day sometimes due to the fact we had no internet. The customer service staff dont know what they are doing or talking about in the slightest, they told me I needed an engineer which would fix the problem but cost ME £100!!! When I refused to pay it the customer service woman then said in the same phone call that the only other option to fix it would be to send me out a new box and router free of charge... when I questioned her if that was the case why was she trying to get me pay £100 for an engineer?? Of course there was no answer to that. The new equipment came and so my did my new bill which they had added the cost of the new equipment and p&p which the woman said I was getting for FREE! When I complained to a customer service guy he put me on hold while he said he would go and speak to her, only for her to deny saying it!!! so I demanded the phone call to be listened to which took them 3 months to do, and much to their hate they said I was correct and they would refund me my money which took them 2 months and numerous phone calls asking where it was as it was only supposed to take 5 working days!! Still with little internet I made numerous calls to be told I had to download some app which didnt work, so again back on the phone to them which they then emailed me some instructions to follow to change some settings.... still that didnt work, plus the fact the settings were already on what they told me to change them to!? Again got on the phone and they then said the reason I was having slow if any internet at all was because of a line issue their end (apparently sky were having the same issue??) which their engineers are trying to fix... so why all the lies and getting customers to pay for engineers and new equipment if this was the case? They guy said the only way to deal with it was to purchase a BT box (here we go again) as they had some kind of agreement with BT where by customers could buy and use their boxs and routers but plusnet would supply the internet, the cost was £100 plus p&p (everything is £100 with plusnet) but I told them to get stuffed I wasnt paying it!!! The Straw that broke the camels back for me was when I had an email come through saying I was late paying my bill, i can honestly say I was never late making any payment to plusnet up until then, I rang them and they confirmed I WASNT late with my payment so to just ignore it. TWO days later after that email our internet was cut off!! so I called them and they said It was becaus I was 32 days late paying my bill?? Well If i wasnt sitting down at the time i think I'd of fainted!!! I was on the phone for 40 mins with them when they finally admitted that they were wrong and I had infact paid my direct debit on time, they said they needed to look in to it as to why it flagged up I was late when I wasnt,
no apology but they said they would turn my internet back on. 12 hours later we still had no internet so I called AGAIN and finally the internet was turned back on... no explantion as why it wasnt before.
I can honestly say I am absolutely disgusted with plusnet's broadband, customer service and the billing issues to the point where by I have actually now cancelled my direct debit with them and gone with another company who I am not having issues with at all and they are cheaper! My contract wasnt supposed to run out until July but I couldn't give a hoot.... they can send it to the debt collectors but they wont be getting a penny from me either! I'll wave at them through the window when they knock!! End of the day plusnet have broke their side of the contract under consumer law.. I paid for a service which I DID NOT receive along with other issues.
Plusnet will do you proud?? Haha disappoint more like!

With a New Year came a new provider: PlusNet. After looking through a ton of reviews here and elsewhere I settled on them as their customer service was rated as excellent. Indeed, they exceeded my expectations. I switched from Virgin Media because of their price hikes. However, because Virgin is on a seperate (monopolised) network when you switch to PlusNet the old contract is NOT automatically cancelled. I was not aware of this and so ended up incurring over £100 in fees with Virgin Media for an unused service. To my surprise, when I settled this fee and called PlusNet they sympathized with my position and - after reviewing their sign-up pipeline - decided that they had no informed me well enough that I had to manually cancel Virgin Media. As a result they are reimbursing the extra incurred fees.

In addition, the internet so far (2 months) has been stable at about 70mbps and almost as strong as Virgins (108mpbs). For about half the price, this is a very good deal.

Also if you are looking to get ethernet by cable or deal with pesky iron-heavy walls I recommend a ethernet over power adaptor. I was able to use one without any hassle to extend the network to the living room.

Appalling customer service and attitude. I signed up with PlusNet when I moved into a new house in a rural location so cable was not an option. From the outset I found their service poor:
- lost a days holiday due installation appointment not kept; was told it was an automated 'service' and I didn't need to be in.
- very little in way of apology for wasting my time, poor attitude form person I finally managed to speak to. Offered £5 (!?) compensation for the inconvenience
- impossible to get hold of customer services; put on hold for mins only for the call the be cut off, no matter which number I called
- no option to contact them via email (really? in 2020??)
- in order to cancel my contract I had to write to them by recorded delivery, the cost of which I had to bear
- when asked why I was leaving I told them partly due to terrible customer service and was met with a dismissive attitude and only to be told 'its all very well you say we need to employ more staff but its takes 6 months to train them'
- when advised I was moving to a faster internet provider and that sometimes had buffering streaming to my smart TV was told that it wasn't possible to use a smart TV, even though I had been using one with their service for 3 years! Again tone of member of staff was rude and dismissive and treated me like I was a bit stupid. They don't listen
- finally to top it off, I cancelled my direct debit when terminating my contract, which I advised them of. I have today received notification that they haven't been able to take payment of £4.52 for the settlement of my account and if no payment made within 14 days they will refer to a debt collection agency!!??

AVOID, TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSESWHERE

Paying £36 per month I looked for a better price. When I found one I rang to cancel. The guy on the retention team seemed really uninterested and didn't believe that I had got the deal I said I had nor did he think you could have broadband without a land-line. He offered me a discount to stay but I felt it was too late for that so I told him to cancel it on my renual date. I will still have to call them back tho. At the end of the call he didn't even say goodbye.

This company was a pleasure to deal with until about 2 years ago. Then various problems started. I was told I could have fibre and they upgraded me only to find out I couldn’t. It took about 9 months before I got my service back properly, the staff I spoke to were incompetent they couldn’t find the problem which in the end was settings their end. Now I have lost my internet again and as I am just out of contract they told me to go and find another provider! They are rude and lack empathy, I have been with them for a very long time too. They aren’t interested in keeping customers just getting new ones. I won’t ever go back, they also need to change their statement “ we will do you proud” absolutely not true. Stay well clear.

Have generally been happy with the service from Plusnet but problems started when I told them I was leaving for another provider. That was a mistake as my access to subscription channels was cut off immediately despite me telling them the change over date was nearly 3 weeks away. When I contacted support about this they were generally helpful but ineffective telling me the lost channels would be reinstated within 24 hours. They weren't despite contacting them four times. I told them I was paying the full subscription for the service I had contracted with them but they were not providing the service being paid for until the service transfer date they had been given. They said they would reimburse the cost of the subscription channels for 1 month but said they were unable to reinstate the missing channels despite being reminded that they could unplug the service immediately but not re-connect them for 1 month. I am stuck with this situation until the change over takes place and am being denied access to the contracted subscription channels.
I am not impressed.

Plusnet......don't be fooled. It was once good, but more recently their customer service is poor. When I joined last year (2019) I got a poor service; constantly dropping. The line into the house was checked and was fine. Plusnet tried to blame everything - choice of channel, house electrics, etc, From the start I asked for a new router. They constantly refused to replace it. Six months on I changed provider, changed router, and hey ho I now have a service that flies around the house and is reliable and stable. You have been warned.

Have been a customer for 6 years and it was great up untill 2 years ago when they brought out the new hub. Can not handle 5hz so randomly locks out phones as an authorization error or drops speed when gaming. Leaving you unknowingly eating into any data allowance. Have always liked plusnet, customer service always helpful just they won't stop defending that damn hub. In 2 years I've been sent 3 to replace faulty ones and it's got worse since the last software update. I'm have moved suppliers. May come back when they lose the hub.

Southampton Plusnet
Awful customer service; refused to accept that my bank account numbers were mine (doesn't quite match?). Waited for a manager to call back - never happened.
Nearly two months to close my account and they still haven't done it or refunded me - will never be with them ever again!

Had plusnet for 2 months had speeds of 0.91 mbph download 0.01 upload sent numerous times on the phone plusnet still charging me decided I wanted to cancel as I wasnt getting any service, they wanted 400 quid to cancel told them not on my life
Ended up going to dept collectors. And a mark on my credit file. I urge anyone thinking of joining plusnet give them a wide berth they are without a doubt the worst broadband company out there
