Sky broadband need to get their act together I've been with them for several years now and their service is terrible especially recently. Slow speeds and random disconnections from the Internet that stay down all evening with no explanations, people sometimes need to rely on the Internet for work etc and sky by all means let's you down every single time. I do NOT recommend sky broadband to anyone! It's bad

Absolutely abismal. I have never had such a poor service provided to me and such bad customer service!!! We have lived here for over 6 months now and STILL our broadband problems have not been resolved!! We have complained multiple times, always say they have fixed it and to give it a few days and low and behold.,.. Still not fixed!!'
The wifi is slow, it cuts out all the time, it's all in all absolutely shocking. I would reccommend Sky to NO ONE!! We get the wifi for free, and I don't even want it anymore , I would rather pay for a service that actually works than have one for free.

The TV service is even playing up now!!!

Customer services for sky are absolutely crap and useless, they help in no way what so ever as proved, because this is still not fixed!!!

I can't get over how shocking bad sky is and I'm not the only one who hates them.

Will 100% be leaving sky this year and never returning again.

    Sort yourselves out!!!

"Sky , believe in better" ..... Really?! What a misleading advert for yourselves.

Me and my family have been using Sky Broadband for a few years now and it didnt give us as many problems as it does now. For the past 6 months (I believe) its been a torturous experience. The broadband turns off whenever it feels like and it happens every 5 minutes now, before it was every few hours it is unbelievably unrealiable. We have been back and forth with the Sky team countless times, I have lost count and there has not been any progress. Same thing, different day. We have been loyal to Sky as it was good to us for the first few years but now I am just getting completely frustrated. The amount of times I've gone over my phone internet data because I couldn't use the wifi at home is ridiculous. What are we paying for? The customer service team have been a pain in the ass to be quite frank. You'd think we would receive some form of compensation for the lengthy inconvenience the crappy service has caused us right? Nope we got nothing of the sort. I think we have reached the point of cancelling the contract, sort it out Sky you've just lost a valuable customer.

Had skyQ installed as an upgrade. I was told that my broadband speed would improve. It has dropped over 3 to 9.4 from 12.6.
I have spent several hours trying to contact sky by phone and their chat line, without success.

Awesome service. 13Kb/s here all day every day. Can get a bit slow when downlaoding big files @ 1.14 MB/s and surfing but that's fine. All day everyday local calls to 01,02 and 03 and a lot of country's worldwide thrown in. Netgear router at first was awful but now got Skys Sagem F@st 2504 and never looked back. Been with Sky for nearly 20 years, no need to change.

    Almost never works...
When it does connect, it's so slow that it's unusable and most of the time disconnects again.
Decades old dial up worked better than Sky Broadband is capable of.

    AVOID SKY LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

Connection keeps dropping every few hours. And when it is up the speed is 1/3rd of whats promise. This has been going on for the past 2 months.
The tech support is utterly incompetent. They asked me to pay for the engineer to get it fixed ASAP or wait for 4 days for a free engineer!
I paid for the engineer - connection worked fine for two days and issue is back again. Now I have to go through the whole sharade all over again.

Worst broadband ever, dont bother. It is very slow and unreliable, was droping on/off every other day. Then i had to call to customer service, wait on the line for 1 hour usually and they said we cant do anything now, we will send an engineer in next 2 days. Then it got fixed, was working for a week and again, help line, engineer etc. Then i got very upset and cancelled, and they said they wont give me any refund because my broadband was at least some parts of the day working, this was a last drop. And when i was cancelling they were so keen to know with what provider i am going next and when i said BT, answer was, that its not going to fix my issue because they use the same phone lines, and they were trying to sell me more expensive broadband, that how rude they are. horrible experience with customer service and with the company overall. Have a BT now for 2 months, never had a single problem. Always connected and its so much faster. If you live in central London, stay away from SKY!!!!

By far the worst and most unreliable service I have ever received. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR IF YOUR AFTER A RELIABLE SERVICE. You never get a phone call back from the engineers when promised & broadband goes faulty for months at a time.

Changed from Sky broadband in March to BT as they had an offer on plus I could get BT sports thrown in. BT broadband is fine, as was Sky, but getting Sky to stop charging me for broadband and refund what they have taken since THEY cut it off is mission impossible!! Their incompetance in the billing department is stunning. Getting mony back that they owe you and stopping them taking more is beyond me I'm afraid. I just hope somewhere in my life time I can sort this out. Not holding out much hope though :(

I could write a novel about how utterly terrible my experiences with Sky Broadband have been on every level. The short version is that I have been without internet for 42 days (and counting) with still no explanation or any indication of when the issue will be resolved, despite countless phone calls with their advisors. Avoid Sky like the plague.

I was a Sky Broadband customer (speed and reliability perfectly fine), then switched to another provider 12 months ago. Called the Sky Broadband sales team again recently to check offers and was immediately put off by the Neanderthal-like sales tactics. They've put me off and I won't be returning!

Extremely disappointed with sky. I cancelled my contract at end of December with it finishing end of Jan. Sky proceeded to take payments out of my account for Feb and march. When I rang they said they acknowledged there error and would refund within 72hours, a week went by and no refund. Contacted again and said it won't be till April that I get the refund and I was misinformed.

That same week whilst waiting for my refund I was contacted to say I needed to return the kit and if not done by 30th march I would be charged. Whilst chasing the refund I asked about the return of the equipment and that I had no packaging. They stated this would be with me on the 21st and I explained that I will be away and unable to return by the 30th and that If the packaging had been sent within a timely manner and not less than 9 days before being charged I would of returned it by now. They said if it's not returned then I will be charged on 1st April, I repeatedly explained this is not possible to which they said purchase your own packaging at my own expense. With sky already having my money and me needing to put food on the table this is not acceptable. I would not recommend sky to anyone. I would also recommend when leaving cancel your direct debit as there system doesn't not work correctly (as stated by sky agent).

Good experience for one year. Moved house and transfer failed. Customer services unable to correct a failed transfer order. Told it was an Openreach problem, then not showing complete on Sky system. Then told I'd have to cancel everything and place a 'new' order. Back of the queue again with 10-14 days for service connection. Should have been transferred on 9th Dec. Now without telephone or broadband over holiday period. Out of contract so might as well switch provider and get a new customer deal with someone else. Disgusted with Sky.

I was due to receive my new sky HD box today, I waited in all day because "That was the date agreed" and when I contacted services to ask when installation was coming because theresults only 45min late, a worker called Keith words are "Didn't they inform you there not coming today?? Do you possible have a week off in December because we've penned you in for next availability 14th". When I told him am going to the bank in morning to stop payment, Keith says "can I pass you on to other department" I had to tell him that they've wasted my entire day never mind other 20min. Crap is a understatement

Sky broadband has been absolutely terrible. I live in a small end terraced house which has no solid walls inside, just plasterboard walls so there is no excuse why I shouldn't get WiFi in all my rooms but for years I've struggled to get WiFi to work in all my rooms. The router could never reach my Ring doorbell even though it was literally on the other side of the wall! Over the years I've had engineers out, replacement routers, boosters sent out but I still couldn't get it to work properly. I had to resort to hard wiring my TV's to my router which looked ridiculous having wires running around my house when technology is supposed to be wireless. Even though it didn't ever work Sky still continued to charge me and they even charged me a cancellation fee so I could move to EE which now works perfectly! My advice to anyone thinking of getting Sky broadband is to stay well clear of Sky because it honestly doesn't work but they will still take your money!! Sign up to EE you will not be disappointed. I have strong WiFi in every room and my Ring doorbell finally works! Good ridence Sky!!!!

Using the broadband.co.uk speed tester I achieved 37.71mb of my up to 38mb download and 8mb on the upload. I realise that location can affect performance but I am very satisfied with what I receive. Further to this, I got a very good deal off Sky and the service has been virtually faultless for the 8 months I have now had it. I will be renewing it next time around.

went with Sky Fibre Max to consolidate bills as we wanted the Sky Sports and Sky Atlantic TV channels. The new Sky Q Hub has the worst and most unreliable WiFi signal ever. Regularly cuts out and delivers incredibly slow speeds when in any other room than the one containing the router. Impossible to stream anything unless you're sitting right next the Q hub. Had both BT and Virgin media wireless routers in the past 3 years and they both performed far far better than this. Really surprising that something marketing as a premium product (Sky Q) uses such cheap hardware. Read up online about poor WiFi signal on the Sky Q Hub and you'll see that I'm not alone in complaining about this! Seriously Sky, the wireless on the Q hub is so bad it is making me never consider using Sky again - for anything! To make matters worse, the customer service staff were incredibly rude when I suggested using my own hardware as a modem/router - as if I'd done something wrong. In short, hugely disappointing move to Sky and I already can't wait to go back to BT or Virgin Media. If good WiFi signal around your property is important to do DO NOT sign up to broadband delivered to the Sky Q hub! Oh, and add to this that when you try to contact Sky to learn more about which 3rd party routers you could potentially use, you'll be shut down with ludicrous company policy stating 'Sky don't recommend 3rd party routers therefore if you want help for it you'll have to search online for it' which is a very abrupt and rude standpoint to take. My advice would be to stay well away from this company for Broadband services.

Sky Broadband Is Absolute Rubbish, Internet Keeps Disconnecting saying to open browser when open comes up with trouble shooting and that's aload of rubbish also as it don't fix nothing, if it only happans once in a blue moon I wouldn't care, buts it happans all the time!! Would like this resolved or I will be moving to someone else for Broadband and TV!! And make sure none of my friends and family ever sign up to sky and if they're with sky I will be advising them to leave and go else where, many thanks Steve.

Avoid Sky like the plague! I was coming to the end of my contract with BT and decided to get what I believed to be a better deal with Sky Fibre. Everything went through OK, until about a week or so later when out of the blue I received an email from Sky telling me my order was going to be cancelled! I hadn’t requested it be cancelled. This was a Thursday when I called them to be told by Sky that the reason was the BT wouldn’t hand over the line and that we could lose our number which I can’t afford to have it changed, too many people know my present number.

I immediately called BT to find out what had happened and when asking why BT wouldn’t hand over the line they told me Sky hadn’t even requested the line! By this time, I was fuming with Sky. BT informed me that I still had a landline and Broadband with them and it hadn’t been cancelled. I hastily asked BT to restore my service with them.

I had to go away for the weekend on the Friday, but on my return on Monday I find Sky had disconnected my Fibre. Numerous calls to BT later and I have to wait five days for them to send out an engineer, who took two hours to rectify numerous faults.

I called Sky again to complain and they came up with another excuse that BT didn’t have to release the line to them as we were still in contract with our Broadband with them, which on informing BT they said it was a load of cr*p.

Sky have even had the gall to call me and ask if I would like to place the order again!

    KEEP AWAY FROM SKY!

why has our internet been interrupted on many occasions in such a short period of time?.
why have we been informed that it is because of BT works?,it isnt,i have checked Why have i had to demand a managers call back within 24 hours.why did i have to contact the ombudsman?.would i recommend sky to anyone?,no i would not,i would however strongly recommend that they go elsewhere for their tv,telephone & broadband. 29july2011,our internet has been off for 10 hours, you keep saying that bt are working on the exchange, what did they do,knock the building down & start from scratch?.isnt it funny that when the internet is down, when i phone up it reconnects in seconds.you lot are taking the mickey! STILL waiting for manager call.I have written a formal letter of complaint to Mark Anderson asking him to investigate this matter & why sky operators consistantly fail to record notes on customer accounts.my broadband is still going off,as you are aware & have been for the past two weeks!

I have had Sky broadband for just over twelve months. Have to say, during this time have had little problem with my service, odd occasion I have had to switch the router off and this has solved the problem.
I rang their Customer Services today. The reason being was my rental increased to the full amount of £7.50 as my 12 months had expired. Also had increases in the telephone charges.
OK, the call took about 50 minutes and spoke to three people, but it was free. Result as well. Better deal for broadband than I had previously been on. Reduced from £7.50 to £2.50 pm for twelve months. Can't complain with that

Have had months and months of the broadband cutting out done every single check they ask but still they would not send out an engineer. They eventually said oh! you need a new router that's £65 we told them no way their equipment and if faulty their job to replace or breach of contract they then offer the router for just under half price. Stuck to my guns said no way eventually router for the cost of postage £6.95 still stuck to our guns and said no! After this they then put me onto a manager thousands of miles away still, with crap English.
They then do more checks online, now it is not the router but still refuse to send out an engineer.

Long and short we signed up to another ISP and low and behold the crummy 3mbs drops to an average of 1.5mbs and even as low as 0.5mbs we are approx. 1 mile from the exchange so no reason not to be close to the " Upto 17mb speed".

Stay clear of this company they are total garbage.
Broadband that keeps disconnecting sometimes 5-10 times in an hour is not worth even having if it was free never mind actually paying for it.

Not satified at all they fail to answer e mails in a reasonable time and charge national call rates on their telephone helpline.

Been with sky Narrowband for 3 months now after switching from EE. What a mistake, don't get me wrong, EE has the worst customer service ever (all Bangladeshi) but at least their speeds are good.

If I watch a youtube video, I tend to spend more time watching the dreaded wheel go round and round and round, it's pathetic. And Ebay is just as bad, I can't get the pics to enlarge cause the speed is just so sloooooooooow .
Sky Narrowband is what it should be called, I'll be looking to get out of the remaining months even if I have to pay out the contract.

After being a long suffering TalkTalk broadband customer we switched to Sky Talk and unlimited broadband. Wow, am I impressed. Firstly the level of communication from Sky prior to and during my migration, fantastic. Connection happened on the day as promised and line is still being tested for stability, speed at beginning was 4Mbps as Sky advised and each day it goes up a notch or two..now up to 14.8Mbps, a speed never seen on our line before. Looking forward to tomorrow to see if it increases further, already it's bordering on double what TalkTalk achieved when it worked. Even the call clarity on the line is better..no crackles like TT. Supplied Sagemcom router works great too with a better range than the range max netgear router it replaced. I can honestly say I am extremely impressed..and can find no room for improvement at all..first class!!

Had no wifi now for over a week and I am told by customer service that it will be another 3 days. meanwhile I am spending a fortune on data for my phone to use it as a hotspot. Truly useless - though they will blame Open Reach as always.

Ive been with Sky for 10.5yrs signed up for the full package - Sports, Movies, HD , extra box upstairs etc etc.

The internet speed is laughable, for the last 6 months at best I was getting 2MB/sec download and 0.4 upload. If you try to ask them (if you can get thru) to sort it out they expect you to dismantle the BT box in the hallway, move your router there and connect it to a hidden point behind the plate then waffle away telling you exchange this exchange that, buy a new filter, its Open Reach at fault, you too far away from the exchange, more waffle about the exchange etc etc etc.

    Virgin are coming this Saturday

    Goodbye Sky

Starting out, sky broadband and connection was excellent. This was 1 year ago. Im a heavy user of broadband relying on it for work as well as domestic use. Working in the IT industry I know my stuff technically and the last month or so has been unbearable. Intermittent loss of network, severe speed fluctuation and general slowness for their unlimited dsl connection. Called tech support, ran through the usual, very helpful at this stage to help and thats where it ended. They sent out a sky "engineer". Didn't have a clue what he was on about and was constantly on the phone to someone else asking advice. He left the phone on speaker at one point to which the other "engineer" said "Well the connection hasn't dropped for a few days just plug it all back together and leave it to see how it goes". At this point he had tried his test router with same issues as I was getting and tried the phone line. Speed still dropping below 1mbps but this was normal apparently as he was submitting a survey I had filled out while connected to my Wi-Fi. It was at this point I knew I was never going to get anywhere with them and needed to leave. Virgin media - better deals, speed and support by miles (at this point in time) don't waste your time or money on this as it honestly isn't worth it. Virgin are voted the best for a reason. Only wish they had provided fibre in my location earlier so I wouldn't of had to put up with this for so long

I am on Sky Broadband Connect, Paying £17.00 pcm for abysmal speeds, and regular disconections, loss of server you name a broadband problem I get it. They advertise upto 8Mb (i think on this package) but because it's an old BT package and it's so over subscribed the sheer ammount of people trying to use the internet at popular times it becomes pointless sometimes even trying to open a basic webpage, let alone try to upload pics/movies etc to things like FB or photobucket. For example i did a speedtest recently and the average i was getting was 0.08Mb DL / 0.07Mb UL. the only time i got a decent speed ie: 6Mb was about 3am and tbh i am usually in bed by then.
