I ordered full fibre in December and expressly asked for my current landline number to swooped over to sky and was promised it would defiantly be done. The fibre optical cable was installed to my house and left as a big loop against the front house wall then after 5 hours of calls to sky on Christmas Eve and many attempts to sort my order out which they kept cancelling I was told my old number cannot be brought over to sky after that promise originally. I’m now left with the prospect of having to pay the old service provider for a service to keep my phone number active and then pay again to sky for another service to improve on my broadband speed . Sky has not offered anywhere near a reasonable discount to compensate my situation and future extra costs . Just to clarify they have started the job , made promises and subjected me to having to spend multiple hours trying to sort things out and still unresolved. DO NOT USE SKY !!!

I have had 4 Engineers come to my property to install the router, first Engineer indicated that the cable is damaged underground and another Engineer would come to fix it, 2nd, 3rd, 4th Engineer came and told me exactly what the 1st Engineer told me and that i should expect 2 more Engineers to come before my issue is resolved. Broadband was supposed to be installed by the 8th of December and today is the 16th of December and likely to wait another week before issue is fixed???? What on earth is going on at Sky? Really frustrated!

Barely acceptable internet service. Quick to get you to sign up for the "peace of mind" Wi-Fi guarantee which isn't worth the paper it's written on. Try get customer service forget it you will get a bot pushed from irrelevant help guide to irreverent help guide and if you are lucky get hold of a human who will repeat the process of blaming the issue on you. Need to cancel at end of contract I was going to leave I don't know why I contemplated giving them another chance.

Terrible customer service for an unerliable broadband at an expensive price. They choose ridiculous times to carry out their maintenance works and they provide no infomation whatsoever about when it'll be back online (and that's if you can even get through to them). Highly reccommend choosing any other broadband supplier.

Sky broadband are the single worst internet provider I've ever had the misfortune to deal with. Their internet was reliable as the customer service. The home broadband for almost over a month would drop every 20 consistently for hours. I fully believe that the internet was not working more than it was working. And don't try and get help from there customer service. Your better of beating your router with a stick. That might actually do something unlike their help.

Would give this terrible company zero stars if I could. They lie, and then they lie again. Ignore their promises that they can install broadband on a date, they have no control and only tell you what they think you want to hear. Liars.

The only time sky want to talk to you is when they are trying to sell something to add on to your package. As soon as you say your uninterested they just hang up and aren’t bothered about anything else you want to say.

Been with sky broadband for years, used to be fine but over the last couple of years we face constant line drop outs and even worse WiFI drop outs in various places in the house. Multiple times engineers have been but say theyre happy. Sky CS tell me they guarantee speed not the WIFI and just try to upsell

Very poor, previous broadband provider was really good an I wish I had stayed with them. Skys router is poor, we now have blackspots all over the house and Sky just want to charge me more to overcome this. Previous router from other supplier worked fine so obviously Skys equipment is poor. Nothing they can do apart from charge me more! Useless.

Their customer service is just appalling! I called them and they have called me multiple times over the course of a month and still cannot sort out the mess. When I called them recently to make a complaint, their representative was rude, arrogant, and patronising. He dismissed the issues I was facing and said it was not really a priority for them to resolve and that I need to wait from a few weeks to a few months. He couldn't care any less. He also was talking to me like a was toddler. Either Sky has hired the worst customer service people in the UK or it is their tactic to dismiss complaints. You really cannot make this up!

I have a T.V, Brodband & Mobile package with sky which I requested to change address for Sky to cut me off of everything early.
This caused my data to run over which I am being charged for by Sky.
I called to see if I could get a refund for the data I’m paying for as it is Sky’s mistake I cannot use my broadband which I am paying for causing my data usage to increase significantly.
I got told after 3 operators dealing with my problem that nothing could be done. That is theft and a blatant scam !! Never will I return to a company who isn’t even running legally!

Terrible, I barely get 10mbps however this week my Internet has been barely stretching to 1mbps
I've tried everything such as unplugging the router and letting it cool down, it goes out for an hour then comes back on with the worst speed I've ever seen. The router isn't broken since its not even a year old. I have emailed them and yet to receive an answer.

I'm meant to be getting 70 mbps and i've been getting 2 - 10 mbps. I've called them up and they say everything is fine, I can't do anything on the internet because it's so slow!! Also due to an admin error which they won;t admit to, they changed my phone number which I had for almost 40 years and they said I had to pay to get it back..

We left sky because of the internet service they provided and we went back because of tv thinking we would have a more reliable broadband provider, due to the hyped advertising they dish out.

Well how wrong. We had a sky dish fitted and the engineer took thw sky booster away because the new tech router can handle pretty much any distance.

    WOW!!!

    What a lie!

The broadband drops out at every moment it can. My son cannot play on playstation and online games because of wifi drop out.

This is turning farcical and I will be calling Sky tomorrow to shout and ball and say either fix it or we leave and cancel everything and move to BT.

I am not accepting any BS from them either. Turn it off and on again. Move it away from the socket.

Basically I think what they do is hoyk you in with a great conmection and then when they get other new subscibers the older subscribers lose internet reliability.

We live 20mtrs from the phone exchange and should have no problem with internet.

It is a joke and they are a fraud of a company.

Absolutely ABYSMAL. Steer well clear. Shockingly bad. I ordered high fibre broadband in July. Openreach kept cancelling my order. Every time I rang I was told a different story. 11 phone calls later I was told they don’t provide to this postcode. In the meantime I’d incurred a huge mobile bill due to lack of WiFi and broadband. I was told they’d refer the matter to Openreach who’d write to me with an offer of compensation. £5 per each day I was without broadband. 2 weeks on and NOTHING. I just rang Sky and they knew nothing about it. Steer well clear of these clowns that r you’ll regret it...

Sky internet is a massive mistake. I enjoy playing game and watching Youtube and Netflix in my spare time, a lot of the time I do not get to enjoy this as Sky internet is by far the the most frustrating thing in my life. Sky internet is unable to support my internet requires once there is another device using it. My area is good for internet so that is not the problem. If you are reading this please take my advice if you want to play games or watch shows or Youtube DO NOT go with sky. IF you need it to look at Facebook work away but for any other requirement. The free internet in my student accommodation is better and more consistent then this broadband. You can find better broadband for the same money. I should sue Sky for the therapy I will probably need from the pain and suffering Sky Broadband caused me.

Paying for 145 mbps, receiving 35 mbps for much of the time. Customer services - once I’d found out how to email them (I do like a paper trail) - have been terrific, but the technowizards have yet to fix anything! Shame.

Internet connection drops 2 3 times a day. I called Sky customer service and the solutions were unbelievable. First solution was to record when the internet si dropping for 5 more times. (Like this is going to make the internet working again). I did that, called them back and their other solution si to move the router further away from the socket. Yes that will stop the internet dropping randomly.
I called them back, and the solution was for them to send us another router. The router didn't help with anything. And finally after we had to threat them that we are going to close the contract and they decided to send an 'Engineer'. The Engineer did nothing, even worse i didn't have the internet for a day because he replaced the master socket and didn't connect the cables properly. So now after 2 months with the internet dropping randomly during the day and with 2 'Engineers' looking at the problem nothing changed. Internet drops for 2 3 hours a day and they do not care about their customers at all...

Absolutely terrible service, after moving house Sky have left us nearly 1 month without Broadband. Our predecessors had a good BT connection, but Sky said they cannot use that because it is connecting via copper wire and the Government remit is to have fibre via cable. Therefore, they just refuse to use current existing connection. The engineer told us that to have cable access will mean digging up our porch. However, when we contacted them, Sky then lied to us and said that wouldn't be necessary, the Open Reach engineer could do the job easily on a second visit, but unfortunately he did not turn up, after waiting in all day we rang them. No one had informed us the date had been changed to 3 weeks later and when we complained and asked to speak to a manager the operative did even know who that was and didn't put us through to anyone. We got a call back later, but as yet no decision on whether they can connect us. I have a very senior position in civil defence and need to work from home at times, often with online international meetings. We've explained this to Sky, but no further action as yet and no device to help connect remotely. Absolutely disgraceful, do not go with Sky.

First, this is more about Open Connect, Sky’s subcontractor, than Sky. However, someone at Sky signed a very piss poor contract with an overly generous SLA and so it’s on them as well.

We made the mistake of attempting to upgrade the internet connection to broadband (fiber to the curb) and have been rewarded with a 7 business day wait for connection and then a complete outage of both phone and internet. I’m guessing that it’s not in the SLA for the technician (they are NOT engineers) to run a line verification test to ensure the switchover was done correctly and the lines are at least fully functional if not performing as specified as now both the phone and internet are dead.

Sky simply shrugs their shoulders and says, “Hey, it’s not us, it’s Open Connect and we they have an SLA of 2-5 business days to fix it.” Narrator’s Voice: Because some nit wit business manager thought it was an acceptable response time.

So, now, my 75 year old MIL has no internet and no phone for 2-5 working days because a technician could not be secure a simple line change over OR run a line verification test to ensure it was working. I guess there were additional poor job executions to get to.

I am told we are just unlucky. I wish you better luck.

I applied for Sky Broadband on 4 September What has followed is a shocking tale of arrogance, incompetence, indifference and just plain lies at the worst level I have ever experienced. The moral of this story - do nor waste your time with Sky broadband.

    1) When I placed order the sales person gave me an installation date of two weeks from the date of the order. Advised me that its likely to be even earlier.

    2) Three days prior I got a cryptic message about a delay in my order and that an update will follow shortly. I proceeded to call Sky and was assured by the consultant that the installation was still on track at the set time. I checked the app and the sure the appointment was still there

    3) I made sure I was home for the appointment but nobody showed up. No sms, no update, no calls -the app was still showing my appointment.

    4) The Lies --> I called Sky to enquire and the consultant told me it was Open Reach and not Sky fault and was somehow routed to cancellation even though I didn't ask to cancel. The consultant at cancellation told me that they route people to cancellation if you sound unhappy.
After explaining that I was not cancelling - the consultant gave me a long story about the ins and outs of broadband:

In summary he said the only wiring that exists in my area is Open reach and that Open reach does not care as they have a monopoly and that Sky always tries their best but unfortunately they have to work with Open reach. And that if I call any other ISP I will be stuck because Open reach owns all the wiring.

I have recently learnt that other companies in the area do provide wiring so that was a lie.

    5) Since the Open reach monopoly story I have proceeded to call Sky about twice each week. And the response I get is we are looking to get a response from open reach and will get back to you in 48 hours with an update. No one has ever come back with any updates. In fact nobody seems to know how to move this forward.

    6) I have been tossed around and am now dealing with Order recovery team and the consultant in the recovery team promised to get to the bottom of things but as usual I have had to wait 48 hours to told to wait another 48 hours and then another as they try and get Open reach to connect me. Its starting to feel as if I am the first person in some village getting internet for the first time - nobody at Sky has a clue.

    6) I lodged a complaint (about the arrogance and the indifference) reference number:1814804553 but when I try follow up I am told that complaints are only handled after the installation...so they are unfortunately not able to process it.

    7) Every week I get call from the Sky welcome team congratulating me on my new installation and asking me if I want to upgrade and take up their welcome offer. But as my installation is not yet done I am unable to take them up. I then request that they wait and call me back after the installation but of course they call me again... for this they do not miss a beat.

    8) I was promised compensation for lack of service and when I ask about how it works I'm told to wait for the installation.

    9) I am incurring very high mobile data charges and are not able to work most of the time as I have no fibre. And by the way according to on of the consultants it can take months for Open reach to connect my apartment.

    10) In case you were wandering I live in London, in a fully wired apartment block which is only a few years old!

Terribly unreliable Internet connection! Ongoing problems have led to countless phone calls and call outs over the last few months with nothing being resolved for longer than a day or two.

Just the fact that in my 24 years of existence this is the first review I have given should speak volume. Getting sky as your internet provider is a life sentence. Worst provider ever. I feel like I’m back in 2005 when my internet is so slow I can’t even load my Netflix.
