I am currently on the phone to them and they tried to persuade me that I can connect my Fibre Optic cable into the 4th socket of the Enternet. Completely uneducated.

First of all a worker called Somnaph told me told me this as he said this is a new way of how they made broadband and he read if off the internet. Secondly, he said his manager would agree with what he has said.

I was transferred after 5th time of asking to a manager called Neil, who said his worker was right. So when I said he should read a manual that there's nothing mentioned about fibre optic being connected into the 4th port of Eternet, and when he did, he said I SHOULD COMPLAIN ABOUT WHAT WAS IN THE MANUAL. I am a long time costumer and never had these issues before as I've had with this uneducated company for about 20 minutes.

They haven't agreed to send me a new broadband and I was given 'warnings' when I've asked what the manager was doing in order to help me.

They tried to make me look dumb, laughed in my face, used provokative language, swore at me and generally UNHELPFUL, and I lost it when he tried to explain to me something different when what my query actually was.

This all happened at 4:30 for 30 mins on 30/05/2015 and I'm more than happy to raise my case further.

Everyone who I spoke to told me that they were managers, but no one actually introduced themselves to me stating that they were managers, I was just ''transferred'' to them, thinking that I've actually spoke to one, but it clearly seems that they didn't know what was going on.

I believe I could be working for them too, just sit at home telling lies, being rude, drinking coffee and pretending to act like a monkey.

Where to start... For the last year or so I couldn't fault them, Internet wasn't the fastest but being only broadband not fibre optic I wasn't expecting ultra fast got some good offers from other big names but as a loyal talk talk customer they gave me a price and an offer I would be stupid to refuse.. Or so I thought, as soon as I renewed my contract, the price we agreed on due to me leaving was lies, my other half rang them 2ce for over an hour of being passed back and forth due to changing direct debit from hers to my account they apologised for the slow speed and for the mix up they would wipe the "late" charge for the payment and refund the money we overpayed, a month later we have an automated call saying we haven't payed, rang again today and according to the system they have no direct debit details for us therefore they will charge us £10 for non payment and 2.50 for not having a dd set-up.. After the missus got passed to 4 people only one English person the rest very hard to understand, after telling each one she wants to leave we are left with a £30 cancellation fee and 2 months of poor broadband to pay for.. Along with charges they refused to wipe even though we set up a direct debit but could not find it on their systems! If you like being shafted the talktalk is definitely for you!

This company is just god awful. The internet connection keeps dropping every 2 minutes, The telephones keep crackling to the point where you cannot hear what the person on the other end of the line is saying (did I mention they can also hear the crackling) As for TT's customer service. They are the worst providers of customer service ever. Everything with talk talk is slow. Slow internet, slow at coming out to check the line etc. If only they weren't as slow when they take £50+ every month, they do that quick enough.

In my opinion Talk Talk are a complete disaster....the Broadband and Telephone service performance is pretty poor but the worst thing is the customer service and billing errors.....it takes numerous calls and many hours to even try and sort out the most simple of errors on their part....which then they still don't seem to be able to sort out....the worst was when they incorrectly took £399.63 from my account for supposedly cancelling a contract when in fact the contract had already run out very long before....and it took approximately 4 months and several hundred calls to various people located in Manilla and South Africa and else where to get the money back.....I just don't understand how they survive....and if you value your time and your sanity then you will think twice before joining them considering the number of other providers available.....

Abysmal service! Opted for the offer of 50 pound new line installation instead of 75 pound shopping vouchers. Engineer due on 26th of Jan. Had numerous text messages saying we would be charged if missed out appointment. Partner took holiday off work, no one came. Looked on talk talk app said our service was live. The line from original owners that probably had it for 10 plus years must be fine then. Plug Internet box in, nothing bar power light working. Call them they resolve issue over phone. Internet is good for three weeks then starts going on and off. Call them, they reconnect us. Same next month, goes for a few days. Call them they reconnect us. Same this month for over a week, we were busy so left it for the week, still not working. Checked my online bill and I had an 8.26 charge for calls. Calls we didn't make as we don't own an actual housephone to plug in. Time to call back. Explained the issue with phonebill and lack of Internet. Well I must of made the calls as they are on the system, I could add a package to save from future charges also I will have to pay 65 pounds for an engineer to come out to fix my phone line to receive Internet which I refuse to pay as they should of gave me a new line like I signed up for. After 10 mins I ask for a manager. Tell her I didn't make the calls as we don't have a phone. Offers to have outgoing calls blocked and 8.26 cleared as a goodwill gesture. Fine. Ask to be through to a tech manager to resolve Internet. Finally found someone who understands me and doesn't assume I'm lying to clear an 8.26 debt. Could well be an issue with a crossline and that would also mess the Internet up, just checking the lines etc charge for engineer is bull as we have had problems since day one, phone goes can't get hold of them for two hrs as they are updating their system, call back they can't help us as we have charges on our bill. Our bill is paid up to date our next direct debit due 1st of June. Got to pay it now, will put you through to billing department. Get put through. No I don't want to pay you I have a direct debit. Get me a manager. The only one with half a brain cell not there get put through to another moron. Got to pay 65 pound for engineer. Couldn't possibly be a crossline, we wouldn't know as we don't have a phone plugged in. Asked us to get a landline phone to check if there is. Explained we can't make outgoing calls anyway as we have requested a block on outgoing calls. Got told to just get a phone. Borrow a neighbours. Call back on mobile. Spouting on about we need an engineer and will cost us 65 pound if our line needs replacing but they can't help us as our service has been barred till we pay our bill and that department is shut. Asked for manager. He was. Bull. Round 763 today!

Never had a problem with broadband, however the customer service or lack there of has made me decide to leave, getting charged for things when it's there fault THEN blameing me THEN tell me that it's been taken off the bill, next one, receive the bill and it's still there,no one speaks English and don't understand after an hr on the phone...shocking

TalkTalk is driving me to the point of insanity. At least 3 times every hour my internet cuts out for, on average 7 mins.

Customer service is no help either. resonantly I was told change routers, that did nothing. Then it was change the filter, that cut my phone line. And many times I've been told to turn the router off and on. seriously TalkTalk your tech support told me to turn it off and on again. Hey and guess what that did nothing.

Currently my average speed is 50kb/s when my promised is 14mb/s. TalkTalk you played me like you played everyone else. you got me good internet for 5 months then you started to slow down until now when you can barely connect. And you make your money by making everyone hate you and then pay that cancellation fee. Well screw you TalkTalk you don't get that from me cuz I'm stubborn and I'm waiting 2 more months til our contract is over. See you in hell TalkTalk I'm going to BT

Worst decision of my life going with talktalk!! I was seduced by the cheap rates and wish I had read some reviews on here myself before getting the contract!! It would of saved me a lot of trouble and frustration. Like so many others on here i have had my fair share of being overcharged and bad customer service but the thing that has really done it is that I have now just been charged £145! When I demanded rather crossly why? I was informed it was because of the 22 HOUR CALL I apparently had just made!! Needless to say that I doubt it is even pysically posible to be on the phone for that lolg the answer I got was that I must of not hung up properly!! Well I then attempted to "not hang up properly" and found that jt was quite impossible to do because of the way the phone slots in!! Am absolutly fuming

    USE WITH CAUTION

When I had broadband the service was OK. However, I reported a fault to Talk Talk 6 weeks ago.

During this time I have had NO phone or broadband service.

I have made 3 costly calls a week and have lost count of the number of times I have been told "don't worry".

I can't escalate the problem as no call operative will transfer me to a manager. On two occasions I was promised a call back, but neither materialised.

I have tried the nice approach and I have got cross - neither works.

I WILL DEFINITELY BE MOVING FROM TALK TALK ONCE THE PROBLEM IS RESOLVED…….. Absolutely dreadful approach to service.

Talk Talk mobile, TV, TV PLus and especially broadband are all useless services, as is customer services.

But it is not Talk Talk's fault. it is OFCOMS's fault that such a bad company is allowed to continue operating.

If OFCOM were of any use other than a what is now just another resting place for useless beurocrats and public office friends, they would have got this sorted.

OFCOM and all the other regulatory organisations used to mean something, now they are just a dumping ground for in effective Government Civil Servants that know too much to be sacked.

In my opinion. And only because surely in this over regulated and controlled world, surely such regulators would not companies operate that actually remove the freedom to be able to access the Internet.

I also think someone should lobby the legal system to allow for class action lawsuits to be possible in the UK court, just like in the USA, because that is truly more democratic than the UK society that we have at the moment with ineffectual regulatory organisations are just jobs for the girls and boys rather than seriously investigating the issues that affect hundreds if not thousands of people by companies such as Talk Talk & MyHermes...

    Avoid talk talk!!
I have been spoken to like rubbish on the phone from a 'manager' as I was complaining about my bill as I'm contracted to £20.95 a month and my bill was £110, I then asked why and then they told me it was because an engineer came out and I was charged for although when I asked the engineer he said i wouldn't be.
Have nothing but problems with the company including there service phone/TV and broadband!

I was migrated to TalkTalk by Virgin National because Virgin National believed Talk Talk could offer a better speed of service. So on migrating, and finding I did not, I called their technical advice a number of times, who eventually sent me an engineer. This engineer told me there was no charge for the visit as he had insufficient information to assess the situation as some configuration had been changed the previous day......this was a MONITORING visit and to call out another engineer after a week or so. This I did and my router was replaced. Then the bill arrived and I had been charged for that monitoring visit. I complained and was assured of a phone call from their complaint department within 3 day they having both my mobile and land line. By the third day I called TalkTalk to be told they had tried to call me but were unable to leave a message (how so I wondered, other people leave messages on my mobile and land line)...I got home from my travels later, and had a message on my land line saying they had tried 3 times (no record on my land line or mobile of this) and saying they would close the case. They did not give me a number to call them either so I did 1471 and got a very very long numbered mobile that could not take calls....that I can only assume was from india.

I decided to leave them so two days ago talked to the MAP code section and talked to a lovely man who got my bill reduced to the rental of £20.31. I reinstated my direct debit. Today get a call asking for the full charge of an engineer visit and monthly broadband fee of £20.31 minus £30. I complain and get transferred to someone who says its the full amount with no dicount of £30. I get put through to an engineer charge dispute team who sorted it.

Talk Talk are so unjoined up. They seem to lie, do not have the courtesy of leaving a number to call them back on...and offer poor broad band speeds for my area (so the last engineer told me anyway...so why the migration?)

We're do I start really.. I've been a talk talk customer sInce March.basically they lied about the bill date they said they was going to take the first payment out at the end of April but they tried taking it out earlier.then they wanted two payments of me. I got through to the customer service team which none of them can speak good English they haven't got a clue what your on about they don't listen and it's very hard to understand them.I have broadband and TV.. The broadband isn't that bad to be honest.TV is shocking the box it self is very very very slow I've subscribed to skysports and sometimes it doesn't even work it says error ttg-201 it does it now and again then it will come on.. What is the point in paying for a service when you can't even watch it..talk talk is rubbish and if your a new customer wanting to sign up I wouldn't even bother. If it carrys on I will be pulling the plug and going with another company

You are left hanging on the phone for hours . I am going to break my contract and move back to BT and let talktalk take me to court. They are appalling. DO NOT MOVE OVER.

Terrible, terrible customer service. You are put on hold for sometimes half an hour to some indeterminate part of the world to discover that the poor underpaid phone-jockey at the other end can't help and doesn't know what to do. They billed us for two months after we moved despite my having told them to disconnect us, then eventually, after haranguing them for a long time they decided to repay us. What a lot of rubbish. Like so many modern service companies they are taking the mickey out of us as consumers; shoving the administrative cost of proper customer service on to us, in the name of efficiency. Avoid them if at all possible.

I've been struggling with poor speed and connectivity for months now. I contacted TalkTalk and asked for a new router (advised by phone engineer). I was told I couldn't have one because I wasn't in a contract and might be tempted to leave and make off with it. However, I could buy one for £49 +, this is despite being a customer for 13 years. I highlighted that I was paying £30 a month for an inferior service and was unhappy. Operator said I would have to wnter a new contract if I leave, so why not enter into a new one with them. absolutely the worst service I have had from anyone or anything. unreliable billing, sudden unexpected charges and people in a call centre who cannot understand what I say. currently complaining and will undoubtedly take it to the ombudsman. utterly, utterly unpleasant and hopeless. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. others may look to be more expensive, but believe me, this company will take much, much more than their headline deals. in my case £184 more on top of an actual usuage bill of £18.20

TalkTalk customer service is the worst.
I had a problem with my account being suspending because I went over the limit for my internet data usage - so instead of just closing my internet, they decided to deactivate my whole account including messages and calls.

I apparently had used £36 over the data limit and had to pay that in order to reactivate my account. What annoys me is that there are no caps to stop me from using 3g when I have no allowance left. What's worse is that TalkTalk send one message telling you you have a little (e.g. 117mb) left to warn you but do not send you a message to tell you that you have spent all your allowance. This can only mean that they want you to go over your limit so they can get you to pay to reactivate your account.

When I phoned the customer services, the first man hung up on me, the second time, a woman answered with an incredibly patronising tone of voice who then passed me on to her colleague who just kept laughing at my issue. Then I asked to speak to the manager but I just kept getting directed to other representatives that showed more patronisation. The last guy is the only half-decent one because he actually listen to me.

    TERRIBLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Absolutely shocking service - if you can actually call it a service that is!

Initially had OK speeds and very few issues until a few months ago when I started experiencing crackling on the line during windy weather, and this caused my broadband to go down for long periods of time.

I work from home and rely on a stable internet connection, so I was in need of a quick resolution. Around 3 months later, after numerous phone calls, new equipment, endless troubleshooting procedures, my internet and phone are down completely and TalkTalk are finally deciding to send me a BT Openreach engineer. Except the process of assigning one apparently takes a ridiculous amount of time, because it has been nearly two weeks since I started to receive phone calls from my 'fault manager' saying that they are 'assigning a BT engineer'. So where are they??

Not to mention, I did my research and apparently crackling on the line is usually a BT phone line issue. Why oh why then, after 3 months, have TalkTalk wasted my money sending one of their engineers over to change a piece of hardware, made me check the line with different handsets etc and NOT sent round someone who can actually fix the fault?!

Thankfully, with them raising their prices by a whopping £10 per month from next month I can leave without penalty and I am going to Zen who apparently will make sure your issues are resolved QUICKLY.

As BT Openreach only operate through an Internet Service Provider this is the only way I can get my issue fixed as TalkTalk are so incompetent at dealing with it and I am STILL at my friend's house using their internet connection for my work because mine is none existent.

The most unreliable service I have EVER experienced!! The cheap price is not worth the hassle and stress and money and time wasted when you encounter a problem.

Call centres in India and Phillipines, all customer service representatives have no technical knowledge and are only employed to follow procedures and read off scripts. This is why when I mentioned crackling on the line and no service during bad weather no one could understand the issue provide a timely and appropriate solution. Staff are polite but clueless and nothing gets done.

    AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!

The worst nightmare of my life regarding broadband provider.15th january 2015 I have been scammed lots of money gone, the man new all my details including my security pass word, how did they get it? If not from a very secure and reliable way. After I reported to the bank to the police and to them (costumer service) I was told they would come back to me within 4 weeks, but! I am still waiting.I then cancelled the contract because I no longer felt safe with them, I now have to pay the contract breakage fee, because according to the law they did nothing wrong, and from £152.85 went up to £209.76, can someone tell me if this is with in the law of the land?

As a complete gamble moving away from BT and a month into TalkTalk's service so far so good. Openreach engineer arrived on time, self install of router easy and so far so good. whilst being aware of TT's Asian call centres and their preferences for online communications this doesn't really worry me. My expectations were a basic internet service and landline all of which so far seem reliable and good value. Hopefully I'm not proved wrong months down the track.

TalkTalk.. waste of time and money
TalkTalk connection undoubtedly the worst service one would ever encounter in entire world. I would not recommend TalkTalk. When I took a new connection, I was told that there would be interruptions in network connection for the first 10 days. After 10 days, there would be normal connection with the speed upto 18Mbps (Highest estimated speed 18.3 and lowest estimated speed 12.3). But every day, we are experiencing some or the other problem with the network. Once we called the customer care, they could find nothing, and said there could be some ongoing maintenance work (without prior information to customers about it??). But I guess since last 2 months, they are doing the same maintenance work and yet not able to correct it. My observation is that whenever I start video call or any videos online, immediately it gets disconnected. I don't understand why I am paying them the money for 'Unlimited Plan' when I am not able to get uninterrupted connection for a single day. I request all the viewers, Please Please Please... Don't do the same mistake like me. There are so many different services in the market. TalkTalk is waste of money and time too (as with this connection every second day of your life will be wasted on the call with TalkTalk customer care call center).

So after having massive issues withe the crap talk talk ADSL router and it's wifi and wired switching, I set up a spare wifi router (without modem) to use the talk talk router in bridge mode only (just as a modem). I got a call a few days later with a woman telling me frantically that someone was stealing my broadband. She then asked me to go to my computer and press the "key in the bottom left of the keyboard, C-t-r-l" and r. Maybe she should have not assumed I was a complete novice. I tried repeatedly to tell her that no one was "stealing" my internet, after which she started being very rude and repeating, "oh my god". TalkTalk, here's a hint: Don't hire stupid people for your customer services department. Perhaps a better grasp of English for your English customers wouldn't go amiss, either. While you're at it - sort your shit routers out and the disconnections on your ADSL lines too.

If I was a cowboy in the Wild West and Talk Talk's internet connection was the name of my horse I would view him as dying and shoot him in the face.

The whole thing is a joke, you know one of those jokes no one laughs at and collectively brings the country together in seething hatred. Like when they reduce lanes on the M25 and only tell you 3 seconds before you get to that point.

Just came back from backpacking South East Asia, I was genuinely in cliff face hostels with 3 devices (not including my friends and all other occupants) never had an issue in 6 months. When this contract ends (I have set up pre notice so it doesn't run a day over) I am tempted to burn the router on their H/O doorstep.

Don't use them unless you like not being connected to the modern world which may be your thing. Been waiting for an engineer to bring around a super router for about 8 months now.

P.S. I've been loading a webpage on my iPad for the past 30min and it's not even half way yet! The only internet I have is on my phone which I get to rack up loads of data charges on because my home wifi is non existsent.

    AVOID TALKTALK!!
its is worst service provider i have ever used. there are so many hidden chargers you bills will always be more than you actually expect always.
they dont explain the chargers correctly AT ALL not on the web page or when speaking to customer services. i have nothing but bs from this company since i signed up with them for homephone & broadband in november2014 and i have regretted it ever since. i have since got the tv package as i was told it was free and there wouldnt be nothing extra added to my bill every month as it was free i agreed to this after asking what the charge would be and being told repeatedly there was no charge going to be added to my bill and it wasnt until one of the customer service agent whom i spoke too said to me and quote "if u do get charged for this service madame u can ring back customer services and ask for a manager when i get to speak to the manager give them my name, the time and date of this call as every call is recorded so u can ask them to play this call back and they will hear me telling you that no extra charge will be put on ur account as the tv is free to all homephone & broadband customers" so like a fool i agreed to the tv aswell. my bill came and it wasnt what i expected at all it had doubled so i rang talktalk kicking off i spoke to a manager repeated what customer service agent told me and the manager said he would look into this and could i give him a few days i said ok few days came and went no call back no letter no refund ? i call customer services AGAIN and i was told that peticullar manager had fallen ill and they were unable to say when he would be back to deal with my complaint... and i havent herd from him since. TALKTALK more like whatajoke! THE WORST BY FAR AND THEY RI U OFF!!!!

Was unwise to be sucked in to one of their ever present promotional deals for new customers. You then discover, whilst being locked into an 18 month contract, that TalkTalk are one of the worst price increasers in the industry. Just received notice of a second price increase in 15 months. What prompted me to write this review however was that it coincided with the second fault in 12 months with my broadband and this is where you have the delight of interacting with the Indian call centre. When I couldn't quite understand the question (which wasn't clear at all what he meant) the agent quickly took on an impatient and near aggressive tone with me. After he barked at me to speak up as he couldn't hear me because of all the background noise in the call centre I terminated the call and have now cancelled my direct debit with TalkTalk. When they become interested in why they cannot take payment from me and contact me in that regard I will tell them about their price increases, unreliable service and rude and unpleasant Indian customer service agents.
There are cheaper alternatives out there with far superior British based customer services and I will most definitely be leaving TalkTalk when my 18 month contract is up.
I would strongly advise against joining TalkTalk no matter how attractive their new customer deals seem. They recoup the losses from these deals with blatant price increases which you will be required to suffer during the entire length of your contract.
