Customer service absolutely shocking. Been trying to sort out a logging in problem for over the phone & chat for a month now & still not sorted even after being told that it has! Never emailed me to say my contract was coming to an end & roll it over to a more expensive package. Word of advise don't use this company!!

Use this company at your peril. After 4 aborted engineer visits to fit fibre, 6 hours + on the phone, taking excess money out of our bank, and basically refusing to let us complain. This outfit have to be the most unprofessional bunch I have ever encountered. The keystone cops siding to mind. Don’t say you have not been warned !!!!

The Internet is supposed to be fibre optic up to 30mbps but would be lucky to get 5mbps. Has regular downtime and find it difficult to even browse the web sometimes. They say you save more money if you switch to talktalk from BT that may be true but however, at least BT allows people to use their internet and doesn't block people off from internet access.

My broadband speed is never faster than 1.8Mb and for a while it was as low as 0.1Mb which was as good as useless. I spent 2 days on the phone with the technicians and in the end I had to insist that they escalate my problem. I never heard back from them and 4 days later my speed suddenly recovered. I'm not sure that changing suppliers would do any good. They would be using the same telephone lines etc.

I recently upgraded from simply broadband to faster fibre with TalkTalk. I experienced some minor loss of service on changeover. Talktalk however are not delivering the guaranteed minimum speed so I raised a complaint and received visits from a talktalk engineer who advised the issue was external and therefore a BT Openreach issue, and an Openreach engineer who failed to fix the fault. From here on I tried to re-raise the issue but have been met with staggering levels of incompetence, communication and inaction. Attempts by me to resolve the issue via live chat and by phone have failed due to customer service incompetence. So here's my recipe for resolution: 1. Email the chief exec dido Harding with your complaint. 2. If TalkTalk fail to resolve within 8 weeks pass the complaint to the Ombudsman via the ADR scheme which TalkTalk are signed up to. If they don't fix my issue I will seek a refund for the service I have paid for but never had and secondly will seek to terminate the 18 month agreement without penalty as they have failed to meet their code of practice (meet the min guaranteed speed on the contract). I have also shared with the CEO the staggering incompetence so far provided by the customer service team. One positive is that I have had an immediate response to my email to the CEO. Time will tell if you can deliver what I am paying for. The clock is ticking....

Been with Talk Talk for a few years now. Not for much longer.
I entered one star for reliability, really want to take it off now.
My advice if you're thinking of going with Talk Talk? DON'T.

Didn't even make it to being a customer. Placed order to coincide with moving date, then needed to change installation date at moving date changed and that's when it all went wrong ... absolute appalling service. I was lied to, offered no help, unable to resolve .. totally unhelpful even after going thru complaints depart. And now having to wait 28 days to get money back - quick enough to take it. Avoid at all costs. Lovely sales service but appalling after care!

I've never known such a rubbish company ,they treat there customers like rubbish and all they do is lie , they have been charging me between £45 and £90 each month when it's suppose to be £25 , I also did a deal with them and it was even shown on TV and it said I would get Evening and weekend calls free and I've been with them for 8 months and was wondering why I was paying so much and when I finally got an answer they said I didn't have the free evening and weekend calls when it's in my contract !!!!!!! There so rubbish , they couldn't even organise a piss up in a brewery and that's the truth if anyone is thinking of going with them I warn you now DONT!!

This company use heavy handed techniques to lure you with cheap 12 month contracts then try to rip you off with inflated prices for the following year, ok so this kind of practice is not unique to them, but at least other companies allow you to cancel with pretty much no hassle. I just rang Talk Talk to cancel my second '12 month'contract which I had neither agreed to, been notified of or been informed of the 100% increase on last years prices, the guy I spoke to became defensive and made comparisons between that company and other providers namely Sky and BT, when I enquired of him how my original 12 month contract had been reapplied, without any notification (an email would have sufficed) with over in- flated prices he hung up. Come on Talk Talk - brush up on your customer service skills and admit that you're not as good as Sky, bullying tactics won't win you over any new or loyal customers.

Initial set-up was ok, very persuasive doorstep sales person, package seemed good deal, so I signed up, I then changed my mind within the 14 day'cooling off' period and rang them to cancel, they made it virtually impossible to do and following the final hour long conversation with them(I made several phone calls in all) in which the guy literally 'talk talked' my head off I gave in (yet again) and stayed signed up with them for the year.Broadband was slow and unreliable compared to Sky who I had previously been with, when the 12 months was up was glad to return to Sky who fixed everything up and gave me new contract dates, prices, set-up details etc all with one easy phone call. They said 'no real need to contact Talk Talk' and they would sort out my cancellation easily as my 12 month contract had now expired anyway. However out of courtesy I did contact Talk Talk who initially hung up on me when the guy heard of my intentions, four phone calls later after being 'cut off' as well four times Talk Talk begrudgingly agreed that my contract would be ended in a months time (which I already knew) despite their concerted efforts to prevent this. They are a greedy company with poor service and zero customer service skills, they also try to use bullying tactics to keep their customers signed up, wake up Talk Talk, this approach just doesn't work.

We started off with the TT basic broadband facility until we found that the speed of about 4mbps did not match the estimated speed by TT of 8mbps. This coupled with the BB dropping out several times a day caused us to complain. The telephone respondant recommended we upgrade to the fibre optic version and we could expect a minimum of 30 to 35mbps. This was appealing although the price went up accordingly aS did the contract period, which might have been worth it if the promise was achieved. 8mbps was received and after numerous and lengthy phone calls the technical department managed to get us some 13mbps.
They then told us that this was the best that they could do and the problem was fixed. I complained again that the promised 30 t0 35mbps turned out to be 13mbps, and in my opinion the salesman who talked us into it was at a minimum misleading and at worse a "con merchant" who would go to any length to produce a sale.
Talk Talk are suggesting that 13 mbps is workable andf that is the end of the matter. This in my opinion is disgraceful and no way a reputable company behave. All I can now do is to try and warn as dmany people as possible not to be taken in (as I was ) by the lies of Salesman.

I ordered upgrade to fibre on 2/3. Notified there would be a short delay. After a number of "chats" could not find out why or how long. Router delivered 11/3 and promise to "go live on 12/3. successfully installed BUT NO FIBRE.
Endless "chats " all taking at least 30 mins to get nowhere Similarly complaints sent but no solution. Discovered that they had wrong address for me in their system. I have not changed my address since original contract. So now Iam faced with "catch 22'. I cannot change my address as I have an order "pending" and they will not allow me to have fibre as my address is wrong. I sent a letter to the CEO asking her to put it right. I received a standard letter saying I should use "chat" or complaints which I have used several times and found them incoherent and utterly useless. They clearly answer from scripts and are therefor lost if they are not faced with a common problem. Yet TalkTalk have the cheek to advertise their service on TV in the middle of a lockdown, which means they have staff available. It is now OVER 5 WEEKS and still no upgrade. I have been with TalkTalk for 15 years and yet I waste hours identifying myself. Now thanks to Covid 19 I will never get an upgrade. I sincerely hope that TalkTalk CEO is informed about this email. She should be thoroughly ashamed of heading a company that lets down the British telecom industry.

Just switched to talk talk but so far, my main line only has 24.96Mb and my other computer in the lounge, ie less than 10 metres away from main lounge, together with a wifi booster only has 2.4 Mb speed. I was not even able to have banking and some pages don't load regularly. Very poor.

    Never use this company.

The day the engineer was due to arrive and setup the internet the appointment was moved by 25 days. TalkTalk couldn't even say why. They didn't manage to get an earlier date. I moved to Zen (who are great!) they got a new engineer within the week.

I therefore cancelled TalkTalk within the cool off and that's when the real trouble began.

I called to cancel, they said that it had been done and within 2-3 working days I'd receive a confirmation email. No email came. A bill came. I called again, they said sorry and said my account was now cancelled. A few weeks later another bill and this time the threat to affect my credit score. I called again, they said there was no record of me cancelling. It was at this point I made them aware I'd recorded the call with the rep and told them the date of the call, they then changed their stance and said there was a record of me cancelling...and they would now make sure it happened.

This has been going on for over a month and my account is still not cancelled. I never even had an engineer come out. Never used the internet. Cancelled three times now and I'm being threatened with my credit score being affected.

Never use this company. Zen are fantastic. Go there.

I have been with Talk Talk for less than a year, but they've already put their prices up twice, and they're about to do it again. Don't know how they can justify the price increase, as their customer service is the worst I've ever experienced (not a UK call centre, needless to say), and the broadband speed is ridiculously slow about 80% of the time. If you're thinking about joining DON'T DO IT!!

My broadband speed at 0.4Mb is consistently bad. It makes no difference who the provider is because the cause is the national system. The government needs to place a lower limit on the speeds in order to force investment. Enough said!!!

In the words of comic book man, WORST COMPANY EVER!!!
Customer service is abysmal, the broadband connection is atrocious, and their engineers haven't got a clue! Hence why BT are always called to actually fix the problems. If you're hesitant whether to choose talk talk or not, please know that there is not a single part of talk talk which is good. Don't be fooled by the price etc, 1 million percent not worth it! can't even cancel without paying stupid money!

Rating of "very poor" is not far enough down the list to describe Customer Service, "Dismal", "Pathetic", "evasive", "virtually impossible to contact", "full of Bulls...t". Speed rates as very poor because that is the speed they choose to deliver rather than rectify (after 6 weeks of trying) a line fault.

I have the record for one of my problems 30 hours on the phone,it was actually more,, i now have tinitus, after 20 years i know all the sly moves, everyone knows about them, some have left and had to pay massive bills to get rid of the nightmare, they are all liars, and TalkTalk had to pay 200 Million for plundered accounts, they were fined a pittance of 4 million, so your account is in poverty stricken Countries, the indian call center seems to be gone now, all these call centers have had to pay back millions, they keep it under cover, i leave very little in my bank account, your money is safer under your matress, beware of all foreign call centers, you can knock on the companies door here, bot not thousands of miles away, watch BT, they will sign you up with a posh English voice, then when you want help, lol, yes you guessed it, if your the nervous type stay away, you may end up in a Mental Hospital, you might find that changing your mind on joining will cost you, leaving can be expensive, you never warned them and never gave your 30 days notice, or, there is a charge for a paper bill, the list is endless, NEVER JOIN THIS COMPANY.YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

I had a noisy line in December. After speaking with service agents (in India) for over 2 hours they sent out one of their 'brightsparks'.
He confirmed the fault but had to refer it to Openreach who installed a new dropper cable and installed a new master socket.
Broadband speed was very slow over Christmas but I persevered with it as I knew I wouldn't get any sensible help during the festive season.
Two days ago I used 'on-line help' to try to get slow speed sorted out.. all this person did was reset the router remotely, which slowed it down even more, then they dropped the conversation and disappeared.
Today I have spoken with a person in South Africa, we barely understood each other!
This person checked the router and said it is Ok.
I did a speed test and was told that as I was getting over 75% of the expected speed it was not slow and is acceptable .

The trouble with TT is when it goes down you have to speak with people who live in foreign places and they struggle to understand us and we have the same problem understanding them .
TT do this to use cheap labour to man the call centres. TT really don't care about long frustrating calls trying to get your phone or broadband working again .

I have marked 'overall satisfaction' and 'customer service' with one star... there isn't a zero star option !
When it works it isn't too bad... but when it goes wrong it is a king size pain in the rear end .

One of the biggest regrets ever. Awful customer service, like the worst ever. The router broke within 2 weeks we were sent a new one. That started to malfunction which turned out to be a problem within the internet line. An engineer was sent out who informed us the problem was to be resolved with BT. After a week no one had been in contact with us so I called talk talk up who told me they would be sending out another engineer. Nothing happened until 3 days later they called me. I was in work so asked them to call me Monday, they called me Tuesday so i called them Thursday. I am literally on the phone with them now. I can barely understand the operators so the calls are taking hours. The has been going on for 3 weeks now and the situation is no closer to being resolved. DO NOT JOIN TALKTALK whatever you do.

Talk Talk was voted the worst provider in Which magazine and quite rightly. They are complete useless. I had an email telling me they had upgraded their system and my email hadn’t worked since. Ittnow been two weeks and they couldn’t be less interested. If you use talk talk change now. If you don’t, avoid them like the plague.

    Basically, where do I start?

Thye are a bunch of liars - that is the customer service, their supervisors, their technical department, their online rules and regulations.

    In every way, they lie.

Internet cuts off even though its meant to be unlimited and even though they said to other rival ISPs that those ISPs should provide unlimited Broadband...?

They are liars with one thing in mind - dominate the market. The only reason they are able to offer cheap deals is because they sell your data to outside companies and make money off your scraps.

    TalkTalk are a shambles.

    DO NOT SIGN UP

4 months in desperate to get out.

Internet speeds falsely advertised. 11 weeks before manager calls following complaint.

Believe it or not I have to complain about my complaint.

If you have issues your home and devices WILL be blamed!

They could offer free service and it still be too expensive!

    Dial up internet was better!
