Awful speeds despite paying for the top package. Line keeps dropping and has been down for over a week now. Two engineers have apparently visited and fixed the problem although I am not aware that any have. Customer service is appalling, they avoid questions and give you generic non informative answers. Avoid this company !!!

Do not evem consider using Talktalk. Got to be the worst company i have ever dealt with. My contract finished in August I am still receiving bills for a number i no longer have. Now with Sky who talktalk refused to give my number to so i had to have a new number. Call centre don't even bother. i know have a case with Ofcom as Talktalk are now causing me ill health. If you are trying to leave them and are having problems call Ofcom who will help you and get you compensation as believe me it is deserved as Talktalk are like trying to leave the mafia

Connection cutouts every day. Being told I need to upgrade my package to get a stable internet. Being circled around for half an hour on the phone after asking to speak to management. Being told I'll be contacted by management multiple times and yet 3 days have passed with no call.
2 Years ago I would have recommended this company to anyone, but now I would recommend people stay well away.

Absolutely shocking service from talk talk.. the speed is ridiculous for what we pay..and the worst thing is you can never get threw to anyone who speaks your language,it's a bloody joke!! All they care about is ripping you off and taking your money, seriously thinking about leaving..they are no help what so ever when you ring them to explain the problem, you have to explain 10 times before they listen to you,and when they don't have a clue what your on about they pass you round pillow to post! By far the worst company going..would not recommend this what so ever! Total and utter rip offs! I'm fuming after spending nearly 2 hours on the phone to them and could not understand a word the lady was saying, nor me. Really really want to leave, they will take your money all day long and not do a thing to help you, princes are two expensive, there's no need for how they treat you! I'm fuming! DO NOT USE talk talk

Let me tell you about my experience with Talktalk: I work as a doctor and part of my job is done remotely, surely fibre connection of relatively good speed is necessary for me. I recently moved to a new building of 2 floors and approx,10 apartments within M25 area. The address I declared in the conversation was in format: Flat X, 1 Y, Z postcode. It was possibly recorded by talktalk as Flat X, 1Z - such an apartment doesn't exist, the building does and is 5 min walk from mine, mine has a separate name and flat numbers, unlike any others. Overall what I mean it is difficult to confuse the buildings.
I am certain I recorded the address correctly - I got my eero device from Talktalk via Yodel company.
So when I spoke in the middle of August to the representative, I was told my internet will be ready for me to use it on 31 August the latest, but possibly sooner.I was told in the initial agreement when direct debit was set up that the engineer will come to my building. I was aware and made talktalk aware there is already their Box in the building -one of the neighbours uses their services. I had no confirmation of such a visit from an engineer and on 31 August I was told my internet is operational. I called talktalk helpline and spent 3 hrs trying to locate devices they told me about in the building, I was assured engineers would come until the end of the day (never happened and they have not been booked). Eventually, it was discovered the box was installed in a completely different building (not even a neighbour).I was put to the complaints department, where I was told I would have call from the manager on 5 September. That didn't happen. I used chat again and was notified that I would get call from the manager on 7 September. That didn't happen. When I contacted them again the same unhelpful agent started to lie/gaslight me that no such thing was declared to me and that I didn't understand what they said. In response, I presented screenshots I have been keeping of every exchange I had with them, in the end he refused to provide date of a managerial call. Meantime I have no access to the internet, I can't work in public places due to confidentiality issues and I don't have the ability to secure separate quiet clinic area outside my regular hours. So overall I lose remuneration, patients lose care and talktalk stays happy not providing internet and invoicing me.The whole situation is extremely stressful and as I already work under huge pressure, have to deal and spend hours (overall approx 7) trying to convince someone to take a simple action. I was told managers won't speak to me as they are not front desk workers. I was told that I can't make more than one complaint when I wanted to complain about how my complaint was being handled (I was misled twice and was in expectation of managerial call as declared by their staff). I obviously have screenshots of conversations I had with them proving what I say. If the national healthcare system worked like talktalk in my case, you would get a stranger's surgery and and a shaman for consolation. update 1: on 08/09/23 I got a mail asking me to assess how a call from TalkTalk went, This call never happened, there have been no unanswered calls and no voicemail. After that email I feel inspired to post this story whenever I can.

Update 2: representatives from this site writing PM me for assistance: obviously I PMed them, gave my complaint number, on 11/09/2023 was told that there will be a call on 12/09/2023 between 4-6PM. Obviously nothing happened. This was 4th time I was misled about a call and x-th time somebody in the company declared something that didn't happen
Update 3. It is now 12/09/2023 I have now been charged 40GBP for nothing, as no service was provided whatsoever, what am I paying for ??? I tried to contest the payment, only to learn that it can only happen to debited accounts. The automatic payment was set up upon joining talktalk. I feel my customers rights have been abused left and right. I am now willing to share my story with everyone who will listen!

    DO NOT SIGN UP

4 months in desperate to get out.

Internet speeds falsely advertised. 11 weeks before manager calls following complaint.

Believe it or not I have to complain about my complaint.

If you have issues your home and devices WILL be blamed!

They could offer free service and it still be too expensive!

    Dial up internet was better!

Talktalk are the worst company I have ever dealt with. I got broadband from them 6 months ago and it was way under the 70-80mb quoted and I was paying for. So if you have talktalk check your speed!!!!

I've been promised call backs and never got them.
I have spent hours and hours on the phone and the aweful online chat service trying to get things resolved and it took six months to get things fixed.

They have finally fixed the issue and only offered me a £14 refund for all the months of poor service which I feel is more of a joke and a gesture of good will. I've spent more than that on calls to them alone.

Keep Away they suck go with another provider!!!!!

Terrible service. They do not understand a word I say, granted I am a Yorkshireman which may not help but not a single UK person has answered my calls yet.
They constantly respond with the same script. "Thank you for that information"
    It really irritated me.
Then they did tests on my lines because as many people on these reviews, (and more will follow for the same reason), every time I stream something, either by using Netflix, NowTV etc., it cuts off after 5 minutes and takes at least 5 minutes to come back before doing the same thing. They tried to blame the weather and asked if the wire has been damaged.
I have never touched the wires so if they are damaged then they've been damaged since installation. And as for the weather, it cuts off even when it's nice so that's total rubbish.
Also, when they tried to talk me through the router and micro-filter they repeated the same thing at least 10 times as did I in response because they clearly did not listen.
They said they couldn't do anything and that it would cost me £65 for an engineer or £188.04 to cancel as I am part way through my contract and they would charge me for the time that I'm meant to have been with them for.
I wasted 50 minutes of my own credit to call this robbing company.
    DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
I am trying to find another deal at the moment but I refuse to pay such a high cancellation fee.

I don't normally write reviews but the experience with Talk Talk was so shocking I feel really strongly that other people don't waste their time.
I still don't know what happened. I ordered broadband a month in advance for my move in date. I move in, no router or confirmation emails of any kind have turned up. I call up, nobody is any the wiser why this hasn't happened but now ,rest assured, its all been sorted. Still no confirmation. So I ring again, I'm assured again this time my order is in progress. I do get a confirmation email - with the wrong address. I call up again and am told that to put my correct address on the order we have to cancel and start again. So I do. Then yet again no confirmation email. By this point I'm 2 weeks with no wifi and as someone who works from home Im spending about £20 a week extra on data. I ring again, there's been another problem but nobody can tell me what. I finally decide after about 2 more rounds of this to cancel my order. There's no way to receive compensation or log a complaint because if I cancel my order I'm no longer a customer. Absolute joke. I've now started an order with BT. Within half an hour I've received confirmation emails, been told how to track my order, what I need to do and even better they can get me wifi in a matter of days! Moral of the story is, DONT USE TALK TALK!

Been having probs for months with slow speed and losing connection ,constant phone calls and being told line checks showed no faults and good speed of 32 to 37 mbs eventually they sent engineer out ,who told me no check had been done since 2016. And speed was 12.1 average. And basically talktalk had told me lies from thefirstphone call to the last one ,,i am so angry at thier attitude to thier customer i recommend dump them to anyone who reads this ,theycantbe trusted if thier own engineer says they lie all the time to fob you off.

AWFUL service, do not touch with a barge pole. After being slow in connecting us initially, we had intermittent broadband, then ok, then intermittent again and the landline stopped working entirely. When we let talktalk know about this they said there would be a charge to send an engineer out. We then tried cancel to our account as we were paying for a service that wasn't being provided, and after being told the account would be cancelled once our number was transferred to our new provider, we were still being charged 3 weeks on. I had cancelled the direct debit, so we had to make a payment but couldn't access our online account to do so due to them being hacked yet we are told we will have to pay late fees. Needless to say we are fuming.

Terrible. Phoned up for an upgrade was told it would be quicker. Was told that I would not need a booster. Was told I could use more devices. None of which is true. Spoken to several people and even had an engineer out. Can only get reception next to the box as soon as I leave the room it drops off significantly. People on the phone seem to be utterly useless. After a week of phone calls still no where and they won’t let me leave as I missed the deadline by a couple of days

Misleading advertising and very worryingly unsecure, unreliable online payment and ordering process.

In brief, my experience has been an absolute nightmare. Rude and pushy customer services, and more worryingly, unsecure and unreliable online payment and data capture processes.

I ordered the Talk Talk £20 per month broadband package via uswitch yesterday. All seemed to go through online ok including payment details and I got a confirmation email - see below. I rang up the next day (this morning) to check which address the router would be delivered to, my current address or the new one we’re moving into. It took me an hour and 5 different numbers before I could finally speak to someone. The customer support line at every juncture kept asking me to enter my customer phone number. I don't have a Talk Talk number and when I entered my mobile number it said not recognised. But there was very little alternative and it was nigh on impossible to actually speak to someone. Eventually, I did, and explained my question about delivery address for the router. She said I couldn’t change the address I had given with the order (not understanding there were field options to give 2 addresses on the order form). She then reluctantly looked up my order number from the confirmation email and said they had no record of the order on their system. I then spoke to someone else in another department who said the same. And both were a little rude about it. This is very worrying since I had completed the online process, given my debit card details and even fixed a date and time for the engineer visit - all of which I had had confirmed by email!

Regardless, I rang up a different number yet again to place the order from the start, since the online process clearly hadn’t worked. This is the real good bit. I was told by the sales guy that the £20 price doesn’t include VAT and that with VAT it’s actually £22.95. Errr, hold on. The price is advertised as £20 per month. There’s no mention of incl or excl of VAT. More importantly, that would make the VAT rate 14.75%. Since when was VAT 14.75%??? So that was a complete lie. Then, after a little prodding, he back-tracks to say the uswitch price is wrong and they’ve been asked to update it. Not my problem. It's an advertised rate. £20 was the agreed and final price in your confirmation email back to me. “Maybe that’s why the order didn’t go through yesterday, because they haven't updated the price at uswitch," he chirps. Errrrr, it did go through. As a customer experience, it went through. You took my debit card details and confirmed payment and even a date and time for an engineer visit! Scary! I would have been sat in my new property awaiting that very visit in 2 weeks time like a total muppet.

With distrust coursing through my veins I said I’d rather rethink my options as the price had suddenly changed from the advertised rate and I'd had a poor experience with Talk Talk. At this point he got quite pushy. “Can I ask why you’ve changed your mind?” “Err, yes. You just changed the price”. “But,” he says “the uswitch price says router charge of £6 and we’ll do it for free. We're still the cheapest for broadband.” Are you serious, basket-case? First, the uswitch page has no mention of a router fee. In fact, it says ‘No set up costs’. Another lie! And since when did a £6 reduction in exchange for a £2.95 increase per month over 12 months make sense to anyone?

As for being the cheapest for broadband, I just signed up with EE for £19.50 per month -including VAT!

Overall, a terrible, terrible first experience of Talk Talk, full of lies and deceit and, most worryingly, unreliable online systems. Lord knows where my bank and personal details as entered may now be sitting! So glad I didn’t move all services to TT, as I’d originally planned. Won’t be going back in a hurry. Consumers should not be fooled by the headline-grabbing prices, which turn out to be utter rubbish.

Oh, and please give your team some manners, Mr Dunstone!

Doesn’t even deserve one star. Absolute disgrace to not only customer service, but service in general. Cancelled our contract without telling us because of a mistake on their behalf. Did not provide a solution to the issue, and won’t be able to fix it for another month! Would not recommend anyone to use talk talk. The worst provider I have ever encountered, and the worst (customer) service I have ever witnessed.

Just moved into a new flat which had Talktalk broadband connected already and it has been the WORST experience of using a broadband ever. Even while listening to the internet radio, the broadband kept connecting and disconnecting all the time, despite the fact that i live in a brand new development. Can't wait for BT infinity next month and to chuck talktalk's modem into the bin!

I spent a week trying to get connection Kept being sent message all fixed and new incident numbers
Kept going round in circles and repeating over and over again appalling service lengthy waiting put on hold every time
One good person who rang me back at end of week and sorted it they need this as their culture
Their internal systems of communication seem very poor if they exist no one owns a problem to see it through
I felt my week was taken over by talk talk and reading other reviews I am shocked by how often it is happening and how often people say it's rubbish They say they record calls to improve the service but it would not appear to be making a difference Do they need more training in customer care and better systems that work it would save them time as well as customers Consider when automated process actually causes more problems and frustration Listenning to customers and recording well wouldbe a stat so the homer is not repeating themselves on every call Worn out by them and I'm paying them!

disgusting service , customer service have no people skills, i stayed on the phone an hour till i finally spoke to management, after being on the phone a whole hour, management hung up on me on purpose just because i was explaining my situation and that my problem has never been fixed. you would think management wouldn’t be so immature to hang up and actually should help you, especially after being on the phone an hour and getting nowhere, they’re disgusting !

I left Talk Talk after just 4 days, when they blocked my phone no. after trying to report a problem. Thereafter, they agreed to talk to me 'but not about the problem.' Since; six-weeks of threats and runaround, demands for amounts of money which they appear to have plucked out of the air and cannot substantiate when I ring them.
They are obstructive and evasive, and, in at least ten contacts, including three letters to UK addresses, have not produced a final bill for the two-weeks before I moved to Sky, who, incidentally, have been excellent.
Talk Talk - 'abandon hope ye who enter here.'

Jesus, I thought BT were a bunch of morons but talk talk REALLY take the biscuit.
I've had "intermittent dropping out" problems for about 18 months, and finally managed to get a Talktalk engineer round to try and sort it out. he did a few tests, then categorically and unequivocally told me there was a problem with the BT line. He then booked a BT engineer to come out and check.
I then got a call from some absolute numpty at Talktalk, who told me that he had run tests and there was nothing wrong with my phone line. He blamed "the wireless" ( whatever that is ) and said that my system was dropping out because of interference from my fridge!!
What this dickhead didn't realise was that my TV is connected by a cable to my modem.
The whole bunch of them are ignorant twats!!

The worst service and customer service that I have ever experienced. The broadband is extremely poor. We signed a contract for 12 months which was £2.50 a month and immediately they put the price up. They are always trying to bill us for things that we haven't used. We are now at the end of our contract and are moving providers, but they are trying to charge us for the line rental that we paid for up front at the beginning of our contract. We have spoken to them on the phone numerous times, they insist that we pay for things that we haven't used, their customer service is useless as they are really unhelpful and won't make a note that we want to cancel. None of the call centres are in the UK so it's impossible to get things resolved quickly and efficiently. I can't wait to move next week.
