    Wordt broadband ever. Every single day the internet turns red. We have the updated version but it’s still the same as our last box. Definitely wouldn’t recommend to get TalkTalk

    applied for line 13th october, now 15 december, still not connected (despite the fact that a line had been recently disconnected).
    They obviously have a terrible relationship with openreach, an absolute stinker of a company. I would avoid at ALL costs.
    Though it pains me to say it, your probably best off going with BT due to the inexcusable behavior of Openreach. This industry is ROTTEN to the core

    I have been with TalkTalk for the last two years and in that time I have experienced some appalling customer services from their team but nothing which comes close to the completely unprofessional disaster that I experienced today.

    In total I spent approx. 56 minutes on the telephone attempting to negotiate a new contract with this company. I was passed through three different advisors, all of whom offered me the earth moon and stars to prevent me from leaving before being transferred to a further third advisor in India who abruptly went through the standard identification procedure and listened to the reason for my call, (the previous advisor never bothers to inform the next of the reasons for the transfer) before placing me on hold in such a way which allowed me to hear the conversation in the call centre.

    For the next twenty minutes (until I finally felt too appalled to continue listening) I heard the advisor laugh and joke with her colleagues without ever coming back to me. When I called back after having calmed myself down I was informed that everything I had been told by all three previous advisors had been incorrect and I could effectively take the price or leave it.

    Needless to say I am now with EE who are actually must cheaper. In a nutshell I will just say this. They have the worst customer service of any company I have ever encountered and before you think about signing up to them, think again. It is truly not worth the hours of being placed on hold to India only to be treated in a disgraceful and unprofessional manner. No amount of savings are worth the hassle.

    The WORST COMPANY EVER. STAY AWAY FROM TALKTALK. Their customer service is appalling, they say they will phone you and they don't, they give you wrong information. You NEVER speak to someone in the UK, ever. Etc., etc.

    The worse possible service you can imagine with an industry low standard of just 1Mbps return link speed. Poor HUB hardware, cheap and nasty TV box and an incredibly poor support team who just do not care. Beware it is a total rip off!

    But try to leave after a few months because you are fed-up with their service and they just make it impossible and charge you for the privilege of saying goodbye.

    Cannot even give them one star!

    I have had very slow to non-existent broadband connection for days on end over the last 7-8 weeks. In that time, I've had 6 Talk Talk or Open Reach engineers visit my house, and had my router changed twice, but I still have the problem. I'm not the only one suffering from this, my next door neighbour is, as well as several other neighbours on the Corfe Castle exchange. From talking to the various engineers that have visited, I have found out that many more households in the area are also experiencing the same problem. Talk Talk keep sending me texts saying that the problem is fixed, and I have to ring and say it isn't. I have spent hours sending off speed test results (often it's too slow to measure), and ping and trace route results. Every time I talk to a so called "fault manager", it feels like I'm starting from scratch again. Tonight, the "fault manager" said that she'd had a message from the "Network Team" to ask me to try a new router!!!! How will that fix a fault that many people have?!!! I've rarely come across such incompetence. One of the engineers that visited said that they thought that the problem was at the Corfe castle exchange or beyond it on Talk Talk equipment. It seems that Open Reach and Talk talk cannot have access to each others equipment and they don't (or won't) work together, and neither can they access BT equipment. What a recipe for disaster.

    Had no issues with the broadband with this supplier, good enough speed and a solid connection.
    What was not so great was the mid-contract price increases as they made free items paid and then a CPI increase in rental. Other company despite Talk Talks claims do not do this. It was very disappointing when this happened and support were quite unhelpful. I left when the contracted ended, probably not an ISP I would return to any time soon.

    Absolutely terrible!! Please stay away.

    I have tried Talk Talk Broadband (the 'fast' fibre optic option) at two separate locations in the United Kingdom. The speed is terrible, it cuts off regularly, the routers are unreliable and forget about simple browsing at peak times 6-9pm weekdays - they drop your speed to 0.5mb/s when you pay for 30+mb/s. Forget about their customer service trying to help you! Plus a lot of call scammers from India target TalkTalk customers.

    I have been with PlusNet for a year now and I cannot recoomend them more. A world of difference between talktalk's third world internet and PlusNet's broadband (fast, reliable, speed never drops)

    Trash! Run away from this service ! The Internet service is patchy , two laptops connected and it no longer works , if you have 10 minutes to spare every time you want to open a new page then this is the right service for you (spot the irony). Don’t recommend! They might be nice when you connect but it will be the only one, after that they hang up on you , ignore the email and every other rude attitude you can imagine.

    Everyone told us not to go with talktalk, because "you get what you pay for." We should have listened. Faults with the router mean I'm stuck with a PC that can't connect to the internet for a year, or face paying to end the contract early. My only other option is paying for a technician to visit, with no guarantee it will help.

    Do not risk it, no matter how tempting the package - go with BT, Sky, Virgin, literally anyone else but TalkTalk.

    dont know where to start lol...started with basic package including tv phone and broadband but im a gamer and broadband wasnt up to scratch so upgraded to their top package and OMG its like nothing has changed!!! I get disconected from game servers for no reason even though my console is wired to the fibre modem! even when try watch a movie and nothing else using internet i get error messages saying can not play the film because too much using internet?? lmao as for customer service that is terrible cant communicate with them and they try making out its you or your items that are at fault even if your ringing about charges that have appeared they make out its perfectly fine and that you owe it well for the service i received i believe i am owed money for paying for such a crap service!!! im paying £60 odd per month for absolute crap!!! They dont notify you when your coming to the end of your contract or anything its ridiculous... DO NOT JOIN TALKTALK! i will be gone from them soon!!

    I hate this service and I feel I have to stay with these people for many months to come.

    Worst internet service provider in the world or the galaxy. I have to repeat myself to someone every time and I am getting sick of it. The customer service is RUBBISH. Unprofessional and Disgraceful.

    By far the most awful internet service out there. If you are looking for a speedy internet connection with good service this is the end of the spectrum from good.
    Please do not buy this companies services to support their products at all.

    STAY AWAY FROM TALK TALK!! Absolutely horrendous! You get what you ask for, CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP service. Never been so awfully treated by a company in my entire life. When I first bought my package, I was wrong charged over £100 more than I should have been for installation, which I still had to pay even though I rang up and made it clear it was their mistake. Then when the TV box was installed none of the channels would work, for days I had to speak to an incompetent and inexperienced telecom on the phone who simply told me to turn the TV on and off as he didn't have any idea what my problem was. My broadband was also extremely slow and went off a lot, even though I have always been in a prime spot for broadband coverage. After days of still not getting what I was paying for, I rang up and told them I wanted to cancel my contract with them, which resulted in me being put on hold for about 1 hour, switched over to about 10 different telecoms and still they would give me every excuse under the sun before cancelling my contract. I was very pleasant but obviously a bit frustrated as you would be by this time. I was rudely shouted and given abuse at multiply times and even sworn at once because I wanted to cancel my contract. They kept calling me 'lady' or 'woman' which I found very rude. I had never seen such poor service. He had to keep asking me to repeat myself because HE funnily couldn't understand me even though they were very hard to understand and I have a very clear accent as I used to work on a phone for a living. After about 2 hours on the phone he then pretended he couldn't hear me and put the phone down. I rang them back up and told them I would be going back to my old excellent and trusty provider, Virgin, with or without their help. Virgin, who may be more expensive but their customer service is impeccable; the telecoms are very competent and know exactly how to help you with any problem, no matter how small. They cannot do enough to help you and give you the best package you can get for your money. And their broadband and TV box sets are very reliable, unlike TALK TALKS. Talk Talk also charged me £200 for cancelling my contract even though it say I could cancel within 14 days for free and I had only had it for a few days, which I again had to pay. Please if you value your good health and sanity, do not go to Talk Talk. I PROMISE you, you will regret it.

    Awful! Staff do not understand English and are bad trained. I had so many problems with them. I would not recommnend this service or any service with Talk Talkk. They are cheap and useless.

    where do i start, saw an online offer for simply broadband free for 18 months and a £100 love2shop voucher if you swap from sky and keep your old number. only after i had submitted the order did i realise that they had given me a new number, so got in touch via online chat the same hour of the order. so a week before the service goes live stay the same new number, so again i contact them, no reply.
    Today the service went live, well was meant to. No internet or landline, so my wife calls them. long story short she was on the phone for four hours spoke to 10 different people. despite being told that it was talktalks fault she was actually told that we where to blame. after 4 hours of pass the customer AND £45 of charges to her mobile bill ( as landline not connected) she got the account sorted EXCEPT that as there is new landline number we do not qualify for the voucher offer. SCAM DONT ON FALL FOR IT LIKE US.

    In my opinion they do not deserve any stars. From the first day of having talktalk and having an engineer install everything, we have had problems. The engineer was VERY inappropriate, making inappropriate comments.
    MULTIPLE phone calls have been made about our AWFUL broadband speed. An engineer was called out (free) and checked our speed and left. Nothing was resolved. He said there were errors and that couldnt be fixed.
    An engineer came last week for the same reason and had a coffee, checked our speed and left. Nothing resolved this time either. I was told the call out would be FREE otherwise i would NEVER pay it unless completely necessary, especially being a student.. but they are trying to charge me for the call out. Customer service is horrific, the services are very bad.
    I only went with talktalk as it was the cheapest at the time when I was starting university, but now.. I wish i had payed more. From the extreme bad services to their bad customer service skills. They try and charge you for little things now and again.. adding sly little charges.

    I WOULD NOT recommend talktalk and would say just just go for the more expensive. You probably wont get any problems.
    I can't wait to leave, and start up with Virgin. Never had any problems with them!!!

    Worst decision of my life going with talktalk!! I was seduced by the cheap rates and wish I had read some reviews on here myself before getting the contract!! It would of saved me a lot of trouble and frustration. Like so many others on here i have had my fair share of being overcharged and bad customer service but the thing that has really done it is that I have now just been charged £145! When I demanded rather crossly why? I was informed it was because of the 22 HOUR CALL I apparently had just made!! Needless to say that I doubt it is even pysically posible to be on the phone for that lolg the answer I got was that I must of not hung up properly!! Well I then attempted to "not hang up properly" and found that jt was quite impossible to do because of the way the phone slots in!! Am absolutly fuming

    Quite simply the worst experience I have ever had with any company.

    Spent months trying to get them to install. When installed it often failed. Customer service was like a circular vortex of incompetence, hours and hours of my life wasted.

    Eventually decided to cancel the contract, a process which again took hours and significant interaction with cynical and deliberately obstructive call cente workers. Was then FURIOUS to find three months later that they had continued to charge me!! Called up to complain and get my money back and was essentially called a liar.

    If I had the time I would actually consider suing, as their actions are above the merely incompetent and bordering on the illegal. They effectively stole three months of rental from me.

    Avoid these jokers like the plague.

    I am a TalkTalk everything seemed to work fine using ADSL, I then upgraded to Fibre, I didn't notice much difference in speed as I live close to the exchange, but when I run speed tests, the system kept asking if I was using cable or WiFi, I thought nothing of this, but now we have starting trying the TalkTalk TV, unfortunately I am unable use this service as I receive an eror (IPC6017) pointing to broadband speed. It is the now 6 Feb, I reported this fault on 29 Oct, I seen two, so called TalkTalk 'engineers' both looked blank and left stated they would push my fault up, however each time the fault just gets closed stating the fault is repaired. Also as said I seen two engineers but reported the problem over 10 times, on average my case will be closed after 4 days without anyone connecting me. I have done a bit of investigation and found that people with TalkTalk can experience this problem because the Fibre order has not been finialised with BT.
    I feel that I shall be leaving TalkTalk as I am entering month four and still my fault has not been repaired.

    I LOATH TALKTALK!

    I have never came cross such a horrible service in my life. I absolutely regret being with talktalk. I don't have words to explain my frustration right now but I am really very angry and irritated. I am not usually very unpleasant and unfriendly as a person but these guys made me shake with anger. So, Where do I start,
    On 4/5 June,my house mate made a complaint about the internet (Before I did ring them loads of times but they managed to sweet-talk me). He almost managed to prove his point about horrible speed and asked the consultant on phone to transfer the call to disconnection department. And that's it, phone got CUT! Then on 29 June I again called them and explained everything and they said they are very sorry for the service and they want one last chance to make amends. They said they will send an engineer to have a look. I being very naive, fell into the nonsense. The engineer was available only after 11 days so I asked them to confirm the booking for 10 July. On 10 July, as expected (Now), no one turned up, no engineer nothing. So I called them again today on 08 number. I was angry and irritated already but I thought I should give them one more chance to explain. I was talking to the manager who asked me to do loads of things with modem and laptop like 'switch this on' and 'un-wire this' and that. Finally he asked me to open this site on browser to check the speed of my interent and you guys will be shocked to know that I was getting 0.55 mbps speed!!! I am suppose to get 9.5-12 mbps and I was getting 0.55 (I still can't believe it) anyway he obviously understood my frustration and said let me make notes of your case and transfer you to the cancellation department and guess what?? The call got disconnected again!!! No no no... now I lost it, I lost it completely and I called them again and almost shouted at them to connect me to the disconnection department. Now at that department which was suppose to be called as some 'Costumer retention department (Biggest irony ever!)'Some guy was talking in very indifferent tone as if he gives a damn about customers. I was super angry and was shouting and shaking on phone and he was like 'we can cancel your contract but you will have to pay 45 pounds.' Trust me when I say this, I couldn't believe my ears, 43 POUNDS!!!! What for???? but he kept on going on and on and on and I was so fade-up that I told him to cancel the bloody thing and put me out of my pain. I also told him that I will think that I did some charity because talktalk is so pathetic that it needs some charity to improve. Its like a diseased service. Now that is my story. So if you want to go for talktalk. go ahead but remember they are diseased company and will give you only pain and disappointment.

    This experience also made me think. Why should we put up this crap? Why should we give our hard earned money to such companies? Is there no way I can get justice? Is there no way I can get compensation? I was getting 0.55 mbps and was paying for 9.5 mbps for 6 months. We all see there is some injustice, then what do I do? Because I don't believe in getting mad, I believe in getting even. and I want to get EVEN!

    Please help if anyone can. and please lets not just write these bad experiences, lets do something about it!!

    I was on the verge of believing that I was the only person affected by the appalling service provided by Talk Talk! It has taken me six months to implement the cancelation of a mobile phone contract and hours of my time being passed from one person to another.Every one expressed the view that they understood my problem but no one was prepared to do anything about it. If you want a definition of the Dickensian circomlocution office there is no need to read Bleak House just attempt a conversation with anybody from the Talk
    Talk Indian call centre.
    I have been so angry with the shoddy treatment that I contacted Ofcom as I could not believe that their remit did not extend to cover this company.I'm afraid this was as much use as a chocolate fire guard and surely in an election year when cuts have to be made this must be a quango worthy of the axe! The ombudsman was similarly difficult to pin down and given the number of complaints on this web site singularly ineffective.

    Sadly they seem to use the same non-UK based call centres as BT. The staff are clearly following a script and have very little technical knowledge and no idea of customer service. I spent over an hour repeating myself and getting more and more frustrated. The customer loyalty team where UK based and much more knowledgeable and trained in dealing with customers and so much more helpful. I had exactly the same experience with BT. I will be moving to another provider as soon as my contract ends.

    Absolutely *****, all the negative comments that have been posted on this website about TalkTalk is 100% and I can relate to every situation. Eg, promised upto 40MB and only get like 5MB. This is surprising as my area has fibre and those without fibre optic and are with another company get more than me! Even though they’re are promised less MBs. Overall ******* *****. Would never reccommend this to anyone. In fact I’m going to advert you guys to neighbours, friends and family in a negative manner. Taking the piss mate

    Talk Talk is perhaps the worst ISP I have had the misfortune to encounter. It has plagued my home with connection difficulties since the day I bought it. Not only has the extremely slow connection been problematic, I have also experienced a year (yes a year!) of inconsistent connection with repeated internet droppings throughout the day. Customer services have been polite with me, and seemed sincere enough when understanding my frustrations with their service, yet despite an excess of 20 phone calls spread over the year and countless hours wasted listening to hold music whilst some operator performs "service checks" the problem has never resolved, and neither do I believe TalkTalk are capable of resolving it. The speed is also significantly below what I would expect to be paying for, and even browsing the web has proved a challenge.

    The purpose of this review is to expose the TalkTalk sham of a service, and I aim to dissuade any misinformed people to steer as far away from this train wreck as a possible. Overall, I think it near impossible to express my dissatisfaction of the service in words, but have aimed to do my best with this writing.

    Quite frankly, TalkTalk in my experience provides a service nobody deserves to have to endure.

    What a utter waste of time this company is just phoned them to find out what to do about this 3rd cyber attack in a year their reply was we will send you an email in the next 2 days leaving you know what to do about passwords and security matters absolute joke .I then asked them when my contract finishes they replied Jan 2017 so i said thats wrong because i got an email off them stating iam in a 12 month contract which finishes in June 2016 sometime this as got to be the worst broadband company in the world. rant over

    The absolute worst internet provider. Problem after problem with them. Nothing more than liars and rip off merchants, no one seems to know what their job is or how the company operates, different stories from different people. Avoid like the plague. The worst customer service imaginable, terrible connection and speeds. One of the worst companies ive ever dealt with. Dont waste your time.

    Absolutely rubbish. Custom services horrendous, barely speak English. Always on the phone like for hours, last time I’ve told them I want to end the contract, because they breached because I had no internet for few days, I’ve been told to wait 28 days otherwise I have to pay the fees. When I’ve moved address they increased price instead of lowering it (it was £17 p/m deal that time). Personally I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. Worst internet provider I’ve ever had!

    Absolutely rubbish, I have been with talktalk for a month and yet to have any service from them, yet they still charge, the customer service is shocking upto 1 hour on the phone then no conclusion. They are a horrible company and have no respect for the fact you need the service for your business. I’m currently seeking legal advice as they want to charge me for cancellation yet they have not provided any product.

    If anyone planning to get Talk Talk broadband, just be smart and DON’T. It’s worst Broadband provider out of all. Once you sing the contract, that’s it you’ll end up paying for no service at all and you won’t be able to cancel it, they will never send you a technician, you’ll end up being stuck with them and if you stop paying them, they will threat you with debt collection agencies. Spent hours on the phone trying to solve the problem about magically price going up. This all went to CISAS. DON’T get Talk Talk, you’ve been warned

    I have never had such a bad customer service the worst I could get I'm paying 7.50 extra a month for insurance my screen is freezing and this is going on for 2 months

    The internet itself was slow, I guess that's what you get from the cheaper provider, but when I was trying to deal with the problems the customer service was appalling. They would hang up the phone on me, the line would go dead, or they were just plain RUDE, I have spent hours of my time on the phone with them. I wanted to cancel my contract due to time and effort I was putting into sorting out having good Wifi, which is what I paid for and should have been provided with. They sent me a bill for £200, money I don't have and want me to take out ANOTHER contract so I don't have to pay it, even though I was not informed of this fee to cancel. long story short, DON'T bother with talk talk, its crap all round.

    Please do not order this provider because it's the worst internet provider in the whole UK. Customer service is as bad as the internet. Most of them they do not have a clue what is the job they doing. They are very rude and absolutely useless. Also most of them hardly speak or understand any English. So please avoid this company

    I never knew internet can be indeed that slow. Then it suddenly stopped working (was using friend's broadband instead anyway at that time). Called them several times, kept paying the bill for three months without getting the service (no internet connection) whilst being promised refunds and compensations and engineer visits ...until one day I was applauded by a man on the phone that could barely speak English for how patient I am, in utmost intimidating manner (like a dog owner talking to his pet -hard to describe, just creepy, might have been the different culture and language barrier). Needless to say, all I got was yet another bill, this time with a slight increase in price (again). I have then cancelled my direct debit immediately to receive debt recovery letters from enforcement agents. Still the worst thing that affected me the most was the internet speed. I just cannot understand how this is even possible these days. All in all I have learned something new - the hard way.

    Well, nothing I say here will differ from the majority of reviews by other unsatisfied customers.
    The Talk Talk experience is abismal at best. I don't think I have experienced any service quite as bad.
    The internet is patchy and rarely a day goes by without some kind of issue. It makes me truly wonder how they have maintained any form of business over the years.
    The customer service is horrific! They don’t care and even the ones who do - seem utterly uninterested in anything.
    Yes they are cheap, but for the love of mercy pay a little bit more and go somewhere else.

    Disgusting customers service. Advisers speak poor English so read from a script that they struggle to deviate from. Unhelpful, very weak signal strength. Unable to resolute problems. Basically, kept on the phone for 3 hours whilst a number of managers with weak understanding of English pass the problem back and forth to departments with still no resolution. Steer clear of TalkTalk, they are a disgusting incompetent company.
