Broadband hasn't been working for months although we've been paying for it. Rang up multiple times to fix it, occasionally there is a polite person but more often than not they are very very rude and terribly unhelpful. If you want to pay for nothing, then join EE. I am a very unsatisfied customer and the workers do not care and do not want to do their job. (As I say occasionally there is someone who tries to help) but normally they are just rude. I am a university student who needs wifi to work but they do just not care. DO NOT JOIN EE

Been waiting over two weeks from promised connection date with no broadband. Cannot speak to customer support unless I call at 7am. Two hour wait at other times. Unable to tell me when I will be connected.

Very inconsistent at the best of times, wifi always drops throughout the day repeatedly and for long periods looking at other reviews other people have had similar experiences which proves this internet provider is awful if you’re looking to go to EE please avoid, would rather stick with Sky with a more expensive bill that actually was somewhat reliable. After having EE for the first month it wouldn't work at all thanks to their awful attempts at setting it up then making my family wait a ridiculous amount of time just to use it (around 3 weeks) there have been many internet providers i’ve used but EE has gotta be one of the worst!

I made a huge mistake going EE broadband. I was originally sky broadband and had no problems in them 2 years. I've been with EE 2 months and had nothing but issues. Including slow speed in everything I do. It's terrible. My phone lines fine and so are all my electrical devices. I'm constantly on the phone to someone, always being given one excuse or another. Truth is I've had nothing but problems since I went EE. I'm currently in the process of cancelling them. Also don't believe the monthly price they quote you because they take more. Lies lies lies..

I literally count down the days until I can change from EE. I went from Sky were I had no problems to EE and all I have is problems. Me and my wife simply use our mobile internet on our phones because it's more reliable and faster. Everything about EE is amateur. I would hate to work for their customer services department. 24/7 complaints. 3 months to go before I switch.. DON'T GO WITH EE.

Switching to EE broadband has been one of the worst decisions I have ever made. I have been a long-standing mobile customer so it seemed a 'no brainer' to switch, taking into account the advertised speeds and the addition of 5 Gb of data to my mobile account each month, which is great because you will chew through that in the first few days each month when you don't even bother trying to connect your mobile to the broadband when at home. The speeds are awful (getting well less than 1 Mbps consistently), it keeps dropping out and it doesn't each more than about 6-7 m from the router. Avoid like the plague. Just do not bother.

Worst service ever and I used to be a loyal orange customs on my mobile contract before going to EE (since cancelled) If I hear that they are the "biggest and fastest network" again I'll strangle someone. Speeds less than 1mbps regularly to a landline which supports fibre is disgraceful!!!

We were promised that the package we were going for would support the amount of people on the internet at one time, which was incorrect.
Then when we check to see what plans are avaliable for that little bit extra we find out that the ones they're offering us were not avaliable within our area in the first place.
calling them up for them to feed the same automated script answers to which low and behold do nothing but cause more issues.
In the last 4 months we've had nothing but issues, internet outages, phone line downs, broadband shutting down completely to the point of having to have them send a new router out because the one we got had faults to have the one we have now giving the same faults.
Spending for 50 download / 50 upload and can't even manage over 1 upload and 20 download lmao.

From day one the speed was much slower than my previous provider Sky, and also they blocked certain websites that I used to be able to go on with a message that said something like "we are blocking this content because the website operates unlawfully"- like they are doing me a favour! That's my choice to make not theirs. I had to disconnect the wifi when I was making a phone call at home because it would automatically connect to wifi call and make the signal infinitely worse and / or drop connection. When I phoned and complained about this, the guy on the phone looked at my info and said "ahhh I see what your problem is, you've got our standard package". It's insulting that the service they sell you is the same one that they use to tell you that your internet isn't good enough. I will recommend all my friends and family to stay away from EE.

A truly horrendous experience. Right form the word go we have had problems. Terrible slow connection. Very poor customer service when we have called up to get the connection back online. The router resets to a default that makes it reboot every 10 seconds. This can only be sorted via calling the EE support team. This takes about 1 hour to get through to on a good day. We were told not to turn it off. It does not have a standby mode. Useless! If you have more than 3 devices connected the router has a melt down and no-one can get online. If you decide to move provider then they will charge you a disconnection fee even though you have paid upfront for the entire year.
Do not go near EE for any service be it broadband, mobile or any other pie they have their sticky little fingers in!

I wish I read those reviews 4 months ago! Got EE broadband in February and here were are not even at the end of June, I’ve called to cancel and I’m not even mad about that cancellation fee. For me to no longer have this broadband, I’ll gladly pay! Working from Home had been hell with this quality broadband and I owe SKY an apology for moving! I never had any issues with SKY but since my phone was with EE, they totally bamboozled me with their deal offers whilst they had me on the phone! Lord, never again! If you ever call a company about one thing and they try to sell you another whilst they got you on, DROP THE CALL

All the reviews on this site complain about things EE have no control over, they started to give free home broadband to customers (when they were orange) consumer demand for a cheap mobile internet and home phone package have caused them to expand so anyone can have it. Connection fees are actually charged by BT EE cover most of the fee asking customers to cover 40%. Speeds are controlled by BT as they own lines. Lines randomly get deactivated by BT so they can charged "installation" fees or engineer call out fees. EE customer service is not amazing but I work on new join team we get over 2500 calls a day 80% of them are people complaining that they have slow speeds (BT cause this as then people leave and they can charge more "installation fees") BT is the cause of 90% of problems for providers they send engineers to cut lines and cause problems I know this because I was a open reach sub contractor before I worked for EE... If you want uk based call centers go for sky or EE if you want a good service and people who won't sabotage your lines to make more money stay away from BT network companies and go to Virgin. By far best provider around and I can't wait to leave EE not because of problems they cause but because of BT

There wasn't an option for zero stars!
The worse ISP since the internet was invented.
What a nightmare I have had with EE broadband.
Connected in September 2014, took 2 weeks to get started, thats right so there is no such thing as "seamless transfer" when I did starting off with very slow speed.
2 months later phone line and broadband go dead, took EE 2 weeks to send a BT engineer, Since then all I have had is really really slow speeds. With the pervious suppler I was getting 15mbps. After 4 BT engineers and 1 "cube engineer" (a EE engineer that only checks ur set up) they still didn't get the issue resolved. Finally after 7 months they have agreed to wavier the early termination charge. I stupidly paid my line rental upfront so I lose that. whats thieves this company is, AVOID AVOID even if they give it for free.
There is many more unhappy customer on their EE Community. I wish I did my research beforehand.

This has to be the worse broadband service since the Internet began. The speed is like dialup, the wifi never connects. When ever I call customer service it takes 30mins of being on hold then they say I need to wait 24hours. When ever I start moaning about the service they hang up!
What ever you do avoid EE broadband, not the save as EE mobile phone service.

Only get reasonable speeds at low usage times. As soon as it hits a peak period you may as well not bother.
I pay for 38 mb Fibre and currently getting a download speed of 2.08 mb.
When calling I just get told they cannot guarantee their WIFI speeds, only ethernet...
I would not recommend EE to anyone. AVOID

100% mistake, they sell 100mb and you will receive a maximum of 18mb, customer service doesn't work at all, it seems like you have to pay but not demand.

Completely garbage, takes 20 mins to watch a YouTube clip. Downloading games can take days. One of the worst broadband services I have ever had. They blatantly lied about the average speeds, not even close to what is advertised. Avoid at all costs.

Being in a rural location and not being able to get decent broadband due to the government's slow progress, despite all their promises and claims coupled with the corrupt BT OpenReach monopoly we opted for a 4G home router from EE. What a terrible mistake - speeds were slightly improved from the BT copper wire that we suffer but for the last 2 months has slowed down for no reason to a point that it's unusable. As mentioned by others you get the dumb questions and the "can you restart the router'. Why do these companies employ monkeys on their support desks that seem to know less that the average user these days. Awful service, awful broadband - just simply awful. Avoid EE at all costs. EE were awful before they became part of BT but now they're part of possibly the worst corporation on the planet there's no hope.

They Don't Believe I am Me!!!
I have been an EE broadband customer for a long time. On the 26th February I upgraded to Fibre Broadband. I received my new router and have had an email confirming my order.
I called EE today, with a quick question, I spoke to their Plymouth call centre. They told me they would not speak to me as the account was not in my name? Even though:
- They sent me a router with my name and address on
- They emailed me several times, addressing me correctly
- They have been taking DD's from my bank for over 12 months
- I can access my account online and make changes
Now I need to drive down to my local EE store, pay parking and take in my Photo ID. Which will probably take me 2 hours, at best!
Why should I suffer for EE's mistakes?
I spoke to Victoria and Aaron Mingham in the Plymouth call centre, both of them told me they would not discuss the matter further and they could not open a complaint, until they could identify me!
I feel the 1.6 Star Rating the EE currently enjoys on Trustpiolet is rather generous. I am sure if people could award Zero Stars it would be a lot more representative of their appalling customer service.
UPDATE.
I was left with no choice, but to produce my ID at an EE Store! I visited my local store and the lovely sales girl, called EE customer services and experienced some of the service I had experienced. The first person she spoke to got disconnected after about 15 minutes. She then called again and spoke to Alan!
Alan, tried his best and was very apologetic, he could not figure out what EE has done and said he would need to get IT department to investigate further. He advised me to leave it in his hands and to head back home!
I left the EE store and returned home, in all I was gone over 2 hours!
I called EE to speak to Aaron and he had left for the day,I did speak to his colleague Helen who checked my Name, Phone Number, Postcode, Address and no all records of me have completely vanished off the system.
So earlier the account was in someone else name... Now I no longer have an account!
Think I will seek fibre broadband with a different supplier!

I have EE at home and also at a studio address, 30 minutes away. I experience dreadful internet speeds in both locations - I frequently get no pages loading for hours at any time, whether on laptop or phone. On phone, the instant I turn 4G on instead of wifi, the pages whip up. I have no issues with EE for 4G and phone reception but their internet is utterly useless. I will revert back to Virgin as soon as my year expires.

Running SpeedTest.net
Ping = 959ms
DL = 3.84Mbs
UL = 0.47
Typical Ping time for ADSL is 40ms, Fibre 16ms, I can only assume EE are using Pigeons.
The internet is basically unusable. Been looking forward to the contract ending for 10 months, 2 to go!

Poor service and NO parental controls in place to protect children instead wanting you to MICRO manage each device. DO NOT BUY I you want to protect your children’s online safety as they are not interested in helping and direct you to Norton who on doubt they have a nice relationship with for year 2 sales that you have to have to continue the service whilst in contract or your children can watch any online content they want online via WI Fi.

If I could give NO Stars then I would. The broadband speed is so slow it is dire. The endless phone calls to what EE describes as "Customer Service" produces nothing but excuses and false promises. And like other reviewers here I have had a mid contract price hike adding insult to injury. In all honesty this company should not have any customers it is the pits! AVOID!!!!!!

AVOID at all costs. By far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The broadband and internet are so unreliable and after being promised an "engineer" to be sent to my house 4 times, To plug a machine in and tell me everything looks fine, ive now had enough. We even paid for a better package as they advised us to do 6 months ago due to the broadband&Internet cutting off ALL of the time, and now they are telling us we haven't acctualy been upgraded. The company is a joke and there is alot of cheaper and more reliable competitors out there.

The broadband keeps dropping out but they won't fix it, or let me out of my contract.
Undoubtedly one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had.
I truely wish I hadn't used them, it's terrible.

Joined in January 18 fast signup 37.6 speed, (i am less than a mile from the exchange and 80 yards from the fibre box), after a month i dropped, and has done so month after month until i am now on 29 has levelled out now but its no good to me as i have three kids who play online games and it does nothing but lag. By comparrison BT was 38 but spiked and dropped last year, TalkTalk was 38 and solid. Fobbed off by EE all the time told its my telephone line, only another year to wait till i can leave, the only plus side is that i paty £27 a month, downside is the connection is as bad as the company, they should stick to mobiles.

I changed to EE 2 years ago as we have mobile phones with them.....We are on the basic BB and I have it in 2 locations, In both locals the BB has been reliable and faster than the BT equivalent, I have no experience of the fibre version. I have had no issues with EE customer service. Open reach are a separate company employed to do field connections etc and I have had problems from open reach in the past with other providers....but open reach are used by all providers and cannot be bypassed so we are stuck with them and there failings.

Unfortunately, I can't give negative scores for anything, but if I could, it would be negative infinity for every rating. Calling the service EE provides "broadband" is a joke, as it hardly qualifies as any internet connection at all, let alone a high-speed or high-bandwidth one. I received faster, more reliable downloads on my old 14.4kbs modem, even when it wasn't plugged in. Perhaps shovelling this garbage into their customers faces is some brain-dead scheme by EE execs to encourage take-up of their fibre package, but in reality all it does is make people curse their name and write reviews like this. Great work, you modern-day Einsteins.
If you're reading this, and you work for EE, why do you continue to work for such a company? Do you hate yourself? Do you hate everyone else? You are literally contributing to the general misery of humanity, and not even in an interesting or devious way, just in a lame and pathetic way, by wasting hours and days of your life working for a terrible company. Have a shred of self respect and resign. Even if you end up begging for change on the streets, you'll still be contributing more to society.
In conclusion, some things more pleasant than using EE broadband: Getting your face vigorously massaged with a cheese grater, eating and excreting an entire beachful of sand, exploring an electricity substation using only your tongue, punching a wall made of razor blades, drinking a bathtub of dog saliva, having bleach poured into your eyes, swallowing a live cat, etc.
