We used this company and found them to be confrontational rude unhelpful and ignorant. They even suggested that it was our fault that the broadband went wrong due to our equipment being at fault and incompatible. They begrudgingly sent us a new router because they knew deep down it was their fault. When we told them we were leaving them, then and only then were they polite and tried everything to get us to stay. I can honestly say I deeply regretted using this broadband company.

Worst provider I've ever had! I've spent a year switching it off to reboot than more times I've had hot dinners! I've had to use my mobile data when at home cos theirs is always off line! This day and age when things like your heating relies on a good continues connection this is the pits! I actually dont use my wifi much probably no more than an average of an hour for buying and checking news emails etc. But I've not been able to even do that most days and I've used my phone data more than my home wifi which is so wrong! Maybe cheap but I would never use them again and I would never recommend them either! Difficult to set up new account as send you log on and password separately but in my case they didn't send at all and it goes on and on...you've been warned!

I don't know what's happened to the Post Office, but I certainly would recommend AGAINST choosing them in future. Initially, 2 years ago, I dealt with mostly good Call Centre staff, (excluding their insistence on paying by DD, which I refused, having already been paying by S/Order instead, perfectly efficiently).
Over the last 6m-1yr, my internet speed, accessibility and freezing has become progressively worse, to the extent that I have lost very important work, missed priority deadlines and been unable to access valid pages when necessary.
The latter response of their Call Centre has been "change the white 'adaptor' socket lead", "unscrew the wall socket and plug into the socket inside" (which also happens to reveal bare wires in doing this), "run the speed test websites yourself" (despite not having internet access), "borrow someone else's pc/laptop" and "if we have to send an Engineer out, it will cost you £140"! (This doesn't count the times they tell you to do the standard reboots, checking of leads, turning power off, unplugging and putting your pen in the hole in the back of the router... ). I have still been left with no access, have had to pay to visit local Internet Cafe, missed deadlines for online payments and applications, (NEVER received an apology,) nor received replies to numerous e-mail queries when fed up of calling "Support". Think they must have moved Call Centre overseas as nowadays there is a distinct lack of communication too! I shall now, reluctantly, have to seek phone and broadband elsewhere.

The Post Office slows down the line between 5pm to midnight during the week, and through all the weekend, making it practically impossible to use the internet at all, let alone stream TV or play games. Before signing up, they said that only heavy users are sanctioned like this, and as I am not anywhere near using their 100GB/month limit I assumed I would not be affected. How wrong I was.
They asked me to run speed tests on their site for 24 hours, except my connection was so slow that the page would either not load, or the test failed to complete and resulted in a time out error! The couple that did manage to get through showed that I had around 0.2Meg download speed, verses the 7Meg I have had with other suppliers - I live in a rural area.
Fortunately, as I had demonstrated that I had already attempted to improve the speed by doing various simple tasks already - wired rather than wifi, cleared cache, changed browser, etc - they have agreed to let me leave without penalty after only the one complaint to them. Although, since then, I have had a letter saying that an early cancellation fee of over £250 may be levied now that my new provider has been in touch, and that I need to get in contact with them to sort that out, which is tiresome to say the least. Scaremongering mass mailing like this shouldn't be allowed as I'm sure it will only frighten some people into staying with a crap service, or having to spend ages with their Customer Service on the phone trying to get to the bottom of it all again.

your service may look good if it were the stone age, but today with the number of times it.s unavailable (thee times this year).i have spoke to your call centre a few times to complain. enough is enough I am changing to SKY as they offer a far more reliable service for ALL my requirements. I do not wish to be contacted by yourselves.

I left BT to take out a contract with The Post Office. That was a mistake. The internet is ok during the day, on weekdays, but quite poor on weekends, and has been awful in the evenings, when needed most. Staff at Customer Service were helpful, and keen to help, but nothing has ever really come of it. I suppose you get what you pay for, and this was the cheapest broadband around...

DON'T Get Post office broadband it's not worth the hassle, call after call didn't resolve the problem even when i quoted the consumer rights act 2015 that in my opinion they were not providing service with reasonable skill and care and that, the contract was unfair and that, that meant i could cancel the broadband contract with no penalty but they were not interested so i am faced with a penalty of £110 pounds to cancel the contract. I repeat DO NOT SIGN UP WITH POST OFFICE BROADBAND It's not worth the hassle

Worst internet I've ever had. Never had any problems with previous services. Only changed to Post Office due to price. Wifi is absolute rubbish. Keep losing connection on my smartphone. Internet takes a long time to actually work on PC (about 10 minutes). Wifi doesn't work on laptop at all (my wifi works perfectly fine elsewhere, such as at Premier Inn hotels, so the problem is most certainly not my laptop!). Customer service absolutely useless - trying to blame my computer, which was working perfectly fine up until the time we switched to Post Office broadband. I have just purchased an amazon fire tv stick and have now reached the end of my tether as it's constantly buffering/dropping connection meaning I cannot watch tv programmes and films smoothly. Tried watching a tv show on catch up this morning and it was buffering every 5 seconds. I have just signed up to a new broadband provider and am looking forward to being switched over in 2 weeks time. Avoid the post office at all costs!

Had a problem with my broadband for some months the only answer was to sell me fibre. I manage to get it sorted in the end When an engineer came out.
After making a complaint of how long it took to deal with the problem I ended up having an abusive phone call of the complaints team.
Never experienced this kind of customer service before very poor bordering on bullying behaviour.

Been with Post Office for 6 years. Until last year their service was fine. But since then it has deteriorated dramatically. Speeds are negligible - 0.2 mb/s for much of the time, sometimes even slower. Customer services often seem like a brick wall - I have the impression that their Call Centre staff are reading from a script rather than responding to what I have said.

Got notified November my contract was due to expire so I called to renew my contract, I refuse to pay £30 for broadband that’s so slow so I go with then £17, it’s now gone up to £18. I get my bill through this morning 30 flippin quid, so I call them tell them to get their s*** together and sort it out I get told I have to pay the 30, no I don’t have to pay 30 I’m contracted at 18, you’re in breach of contract so I cancelled d/d you’ll be paid over the phone when my bill is due. Twice I called about my contract before December. Keep it up and I’ll switch provider. Get your s*** together and get it sorted before I do you for breach of contract. Since the switch from PO to shell my bill is always wrong. I’m an fed up with being told I have to pay the wrong amount when my contract say otherwise. Most people are on tight budgets I’m one of them so sort it. You will be contacted by a solicitor for breach of contract. Get your incompetent staff sorted!!!

Initally up to 6 Mb/s, but deteriorated since and recently as low as 0.3 Mb/s which is practically unusable. Costs less than BT but very much a case of 'you get what you pay for'

It's early days but the initial signs are not good - the broadband connection is the worst I've ever had - like stepping back years - streaming a show is pointless due to the continual buffering. Yes it's the cheapest deal on the market, but my advice would be avoid - particularly if you need broadband for your work - it's painfully bad at times...

Absolutely the worst broadband. As i write this at 8.30pm I'm not seeing anything over 20 Kbps, yes 20! Between 2 and 3 pm while your at work and not using your broadband you might get up to 2 Mbps, if the wind is blowing the right direction that is. The router that comes with the package is sub standard and cant support multiple devices. Smart TV? Dream on. Want to sit down to watch iPlayer? i hope its 3am when you do. Our dealing with customer service wasn't too bad, got through quite quick and discussed it. After heavy persuasion, they did say if we couldn't get the service we wanted in the next week they would be able to cancel the service at no cost. So to all you stuck in a 18 month contract, pester away.

Had Broadband installed for a year. Never worked correctly since installed, keeps dropping out daily. Made between 20-30 calls to technical support to get it sorted to no avail. I was told it is normal and acceptable for broadband connection to drop out.
I eventually got fed up with the terrible service offered and asked to leave. No apology or attempt to keep me was offered by their customer retentions team. I was only told to sign up with another provider. Unbelievable!!
I have never had such poor service by any company.
I URGE ANYONE WISHING TO SWITCH PROVIDER TO KEEP WELL CLEAR OF THE POST OFFICE!!

It is the worst! The absolute worst! I read the reviews and stupidly went ahead! It's hell! Unless you're sitting in the same room as the box, don't expect to watch a video. If you miss a bill, ONE bill for 1 week, they cut you off and when you phone and pay immediately, it takes 4 days to re-activate. Customer service is a shambolic joke! You could not pay me to take out this line again. I'd rather have a sumo wrestler sit on my face. It is hell! You will want to die. It is worse than the terrorists.

Probably the worst decision I have made to switch providers to PO. Was totally fed up with BT especially after they hiked rates and couldn't/wouldn't enable fibre to our house after they advertised that our exchange (400 yards away) had been enabled. At least with BT I could stream Netflix which I can't with PO. Sometimes better the devil you know!

Absolutely horrendous service. Picked the same speed as my previous provider but received under half but before that they sent the wrong equipment so although my service was live. I had to wait 4 days to get it working. When it was that’s when I was receiving the problems. After multiple calls and they done several ‘fixes’ they then told me my line was capped at 6mb speed. Which is a lie because in the past I’ve had upto 74mb speed. Utter disgrace of a service, customer service is friendly if not somewhat useless. I paid the early termination charges a month after my contract started since I couldn’t deal with them anymore. Watching a simple YouTube video would often buffer for 2-5 minutes. Avoid at all costs, completely incompetent.

Horrible customer service.
Switched from Post Office to BT as BT gives 5x better speeds for the same price.
When I got the BT Setup, post office refused to give my new provider access to my phone line demanding a fee with ZERO notification. Terrible and cheeky customer service kept trying to fod me off until I got 1 good person after 2 hours.

After have a none exsistant connection for a few weeks, I was just told on the phone by their tech ( who qaubelled with me over technical words ) to change the filter in the wall socket as they wear out quickly!
So in other words after just three months the filter is worn down and I have to use the spare, which is them essentially admitting they use cheap parts to send to you. I know it might be hard, but just try and find an extra few quid and go elsewhere, it will be worth it in exchange for time wasted trying to get in touch with them or trying to trouble shoot you connection late at night.
I've been with them for 3 months and had to call technical services 2 times already. Make sure if you do have to complain you call them as they will take up to a week to reply to you if not. The only good thing is the price ( but i guess we get what we pay for ! ) and the first tech guy was really nice and helpful.

Terrible service and product. Broadband kept dropping so I cancelled the Internet service. I came back due to the business of changing providers and I was told everything was done and the service would be back on on the 18th etc and a new router was on its way. After 10 days it didn't appear and after calling was told the broadband contract wasn't accepted but they couldn't tell me why!!! No correspondence at all. Disgusted

The phone service is fine, but the broadband speed in the evenings is rubbish; a THIRD of a Mb if I'm lucky. Often the speed test times-out as the speed is so slow. It used to be better, but the Post Office blame a lot of users in the evenings and say they can't improve the speed. I will leave as soon as I can face changing my email address. Foolishly I set up a postoffice email address, which I now regret.
Don't use them if you want broadband that works.

APPALLING....Don't know how to describe such a bad service. Had been one of their customers for 8 years. When we moved home, they failed to connect us twice, despite promises. I then cancelled....& ordered with BTW, a few days later, I discovered that they connected me, despite the cancellation, and sent me a bill of £237 for early termination!!! The people I talked to on the phone did not want to accept any responsibility and tried to force me to stay with them for an other 18 months! Hopefully BT offered to pay the fee for me. I sent a recorded letter to their manager...never got any reply .

I was promised upto 9Mb speeds when I took out the contract (my previous supplier I was getting around 8Mb), although I am less than 2Km from the exchange and should achieve 12~15Mb the line is of very poor quality. The Post office broadband service as advertised assumes an ADSL2 or ADSL2+ service but in reality it is a very old G.DMT (1st gen ADSL) service not capable of more than 8Mb. I was misled into believing I would be getting a similar speed to my previous supplier but I now suffer lots of drop outs and speeds of less than 5Mb at times and never over6 (it was worse on the router they supplied). The post office are misleading customer by promising speeds that they know are impossible to achieve. Avoid this service if you view on demand TV. My set top box crashes when the Broadband is lost and rarely can I view a full program without a 5 minute interruption! The PO just tell me there are no faults on the line and completely disregard my complaint.

The worst broadband provider ever. Our broadband is down at least twice a week. We've been promised a new router numerous times. We can't leave our contract early without paying a £75 fee. They will not waive the fee despite the horrendous service. Customer Services are all talk. AVOID P.O. broadband like the plague.

I shop around for Broadband every year when my contract is up. As a result I have been without 10 different providers since I have owned my own place. Never have I felt the urge to write a review. However the service provided by Post Office Broadband has been HORRENDOUS I feel compelled to right one. The service is so unreliable it has literally caused me to scream at my laptop or phone as the connection goes down twice a day.
The service I had with previous providers hasn't been perfect. But I would say the Post Office connection goes down twice a day on average. This causes problems such as having to wait 10 minutes for the connection to come back. This makes me lose connections to network drives when I work from home and I have to reboot. I have been cut off from conference calls. And online forms I have filled out online have timed out meaning I have to refill them out.
I will never use Post Office Broadband again even if they are by far the cheapest in future.
Only positive was the chap who set up my account over the phone was an extremely friendly chap.
