Switched to vodafone for broadband and home telephone. 5 days and we are still barred from making outgoing phone calls. Customer service completely inept, they are literally inventing answers and keep telling us that everything has been resolved and in 1-2 hours the phone will be working. Will definitely not pay for this non-service. Avoid if you can.

I only left Sky because I was offered a really good deal as I had my mobile phone with them and I wish I hadn't. This is the worst broadband provider I've ever been with. the service constantly drops out completely it's rare that we actually get to watch a film or TV programme in one go, trying to play online games like rocket league is next to impossible and I'm currently writing this with 1.5gb of download speed. When I call and complain the staff seem pleasant enough and for a week or two all seems fine then I'm back to drop outs and slow internet. Absolutely useless - avoid.

Tried to join today as a new broadband customer, initially got denied due to a credit search (frustrating when I've got a good credit score) and then tried again as my partner and had no end of trouble. In the end after speaking with multiple "assistants" I gave up and decided it wasn't worth the hassle. If its going to be this difficult just to take out a policy with them I hate to think what their service will be like if I have a problem. Very disappointed and lots of time wasted.

Cancelled within cooling off period (3 days after signing up) and it has been a nightmare to get my money back and get everything returned and cancelled, constant phone calls, departments not talking to each other. Repeated phone calls. I'm very glad i didnt go with Vodafone.. their customer service system is shocking.

Happy with speed but it did disconnect at least 2-3 times a month for a few minutes, so not entirely happy with the continuity of the service. The biggest thing I'm annoyed with is that Vodafone ask for the router and accessories back after the contract ends(mine was 18 months). They keep threatening with a £72 fine if not returned in the original package and condition. They didn't bother to send the return bag as promised even after I reached out to them twice. Still figuring out how and where to return the the device. Don't know how such a basic device can cost £72 beats me. I am never going to use Vodafone ever or recommend it to anyone. Sad and disappointed.

When you ring to report a problem the staff talk down to you and fob you off with well your speed is within the band.
They are not interested in any problem solving or in sending anyone out to solve a problem

I waas with plsunet and was happy for 4 years but i switched to talktalk it was the biggest mistake ever i never got the speeds and before the first 30 days was up i switched to Vodafone. I get 50Mbps over Wifi and 70-80Mbps over Ethernet. I couldnt be happier. Get the speeds or money off my bill 100% recomended. If you dont mind typing or writing you have a instant messenger that puts you through to someone who is very helpfull. I wont be switching for long while if this is the service they continue to offer

Where to start with VF - Price is alright (Started at around £25 and later got discounted to £22.50 for the remainder of the contract)

Connection performance and reliability: Probably the worst I've ever experienced from an FTTC provider. They seem forever obsessed with locating a non-existent line or local issue, despite all evidence pointing to some kind of throttling or QoS on their network.

For reference, Originally quoted as a 66 meg down connection, later discounted after getting sub 40Mbps speeds, and then suffered under throttled 2mbps connection speeds during peak network usage toward the end of the term. I now get a consistent 60-70Mbps through EE with zero downtime or issues.

Don't believe their "Sync Rate" bull - it's VF's way of trying to pin any performance issues on a local issue.

Use any other ISP at this point. EE or Sky. Anyone else. Don't go near these clowns.

I honestly wouldn't recommend vodafone to no-one at this time, after two phone calls, two online chats and 4 weeks of waiting my broadband is still s#. T, currently syncing at 2mbps, I'm getting money off but that's not what I need, just want to watch a movie without needing to wait ten times for it to load up..
    Just cra. P :/

Switched to Vodafone Fibre 72mps May 2018. Everything average and ok till March 2019 when broadband kept dropping and speed dropped to 12mps. Called tech support got asked to go through broadband for dummies dumb checks on my side as they claimed router was getting 72mps speeds. After all the messing about and still no joy they agreed to send an engineer out. The day of the visit no sign of engineer. When i contacted vodafone was then informed there was a CAB hardware issue at my exchange and they would request BT to sort it out. Now 2 months on and no improvement and calling tech support they just fobbed me off and went through the whole "is your wifi channel wrong" rubbish. So fed up paying £70 to quit contract early to go with Plusnet. Aweful broadband service. Avoid.

While checking out these reviews due to consistent drop-out of internet since upgrading to "Superfast 2" in February, I realised that potentially I am stuck in a loop as Vodafone continues to ignore there is actually an issue with Broadband service. I wrote this to the Vodafone UK Home facebook page: "Been with Vodafone BB for over 2 years now. Upgraded to 'Superfast 2' in February this year. After lots of confusion, it apparently kicked in. But, getting lots of drop out (any time of day). Got some very frustrated "on-line gaming" boys in the house having consistent interruptions to the internet service. Having had enough, was going to ring Vodafone today to discuss the issue and found these reviews online. Seems Vodafone is in denial about the "not fit for purpose" service. So, do I go down the talk to someone and get nowhere scenario? Do I decide to get out of the contract early and face a nasty disconnection fee (because Vodafone refuse to acknowledge problems with the internet/router)? Do I then go to the ombusdman and face a long drawn out "fight" to get out? Or do I (and my sons) grin and bear it until the contract runs out and find a new provider.". I then found a link to contact Vodafone CEO and within an hour of emailing him, he responded, I have had an email from customer service and now a message left on my answer machine. It pays to contact the CEO directly. Not sure of the outcome as it is early days but fingers crossed.

The fast speed isn't fast at all also it won't reach to the office in the garden. The system splits into two so I can choose the speed or distance option. Seems a poorly designed idea and neither give the service I paid for. I can't be bothered to go through CS again there really isn't anything they can do about it.

VF has been on a cost reduction drive for some time (mainly to fund the CEO's retirement plans) and the leadership are all accountants, so forget any type of quality for your service. As low cost is all VF is about now. My BB is a 40M line and when it was installed 2 years ago, I tested it with and proved it @ 55M upload and 24M download with 5 HD videos streaming (real world not the line sync speed VF say to use (just another fake metric)) to one server. Two year later and the line sync speed staill says 40M but I can only stream 1 HD video at a time. When I now want to watch video , by default the provider will move it to a lower resolution to cope with the lower speeds available (agai a real world test not the VF fake sync speed). Tech Support are card board cut outs or some automated voice which is worst that a waste of time. Looking for a new vendor for BB now as I have become frustrated with the quality even if the price is in the bottom third of BB offerings.

Absolutely shocking, internet keeps dropping out, the worst bit is the customer service, had the worst customer arrive ever with my phone contract and now this. Lee telling you there’s nothing wrong when it blatantly isn’t working. Wouldn’t go with Vodafone again if they paid me. Don’t be stupid and stay away from this shambles of a company

Guaranteed broadband speed is just on paper but I've never experienced any close to guaranteed speed.
Reliability is far from minimum expectation as well.
When I talk to Vodafone they doing their own broadband speed test and saying that I'm in guaranteed speed limit when my broadband speed test shows 1/10 of guaranteed speed.
    Avoid, avoid, avoid.......

I changed from plus net to Vodafone and I went from a stable 29mb line to a unstable 18mb line overnight, 2 months later and several online chats with their customer service team and I'm now down to a 12mb line, all I've been asked is that they want to test my end equipment and each time while testing I get cut off from their chat even while using my mobile data, poor poor customer service, its as if they're not hitting the minimum speed guarantee and can't be bothered to fix it, have to give me the discount so then drop the speed further, they state theres a line fault on my line, if that's so and it was fine before I switched to Vodafone, perhaps they should realise its not in my property, also their own router wifi isn't as strong as a plus net WiFi or a billion router wifi signal.

Having recently moved into our first home my partner and I wanted a broadband set up which wasn’t too costly however fibre is a must for us so we chose Vodafone. To cut a long story short, you certainly get what you pay for, we wish we had chosen another more reliable company like BT or Virgin as we’ve had a terrible experience. We waited THREE weeks for the engineer to come out, our router has still not been delivered despite our connection being set up three days ago and several phone calls to Vodafone asking them where it is. They have blamed DPD for the router not being delivered... After speaking several times to someone on the phone to add to the terrible set up service the CUSTOMER SERVICE was awful too to the point where the lady on the phone to me tried to argue with me. Such a disappointment we will never choose to go with Vodafone again, really regretful choice. We are still without broadband. I do not recommend at all.

I never even got the wifi box installed !!!!!!!!! Ordered 6th march, then contacted virgin to cancel didnt realise 30days notice was needed so had to alter my vodafone install date to 13th april, i got a 1st bill until 5th april, i asked for this to be cancelled as i didnt even have use of their services, fast forward down the line, recieved a 2nd bill with 1st bill saying unpaid and added late fee, bill now £49 something, contacted vf 4 times and im expecting a 3rd bill when i cancelled everything 10th april, oh and they cant refund me until 5th may apparently and i paid the £60 engineer visit cost when none of this even materialised. 100% would not recommend, I AM NOW A VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER ON NOW TV BROADBAND WITH NO INSTALL CHARGES AND YOU DO NOT GET YOUR BILL UNTIL EQUIPMENT IS IN

The ‘guaranteed speed’ is a complete and utter scam. They advertise this is actually speed when it is anything but. My router is apparently achieving 76mbps, yet on any device I test the connection on I’m lucky to get as little as 5mbps. Call vodafone and they’ll run tests just to tell you the connection is ‘good on their end’ before asking you to change frequency settings etc. Two weeks down the line and numerous phone calls later I am fed up of the substandard service and internet speed and therefore I have cancelled and will be switching provider.

I switched to Vodafone for Home Phone and Broadband just less than 3 months ago. I also talked my parents at another address into doing the same thing on the same date. Vodafone have been utterly incompetent at providing a reliable service to us both since switching. About 10 days after activation we were both cut off from internet with no notification. After much time on the phone it became apparent that they'd completly lost all record of the direct debit we had set up with them when switching (same for my parents). Vodafone then notified BT to withdraw the block which takes 24 to 48 hrs. Having set up the direct debit again, the same thing happened again the next month, though at least this time they sent an email saying we were being blocked. After more lengthy phone calls to Vodafone they acknowledged fault and asked BT to restore service (another 24 - 48hrs without internet). After complaining, they also waived the bill for that month but charged us £5 late payment despite acknowledging their mistake. Now, today, they've applied call barring to both mine and my parents homes blocking all outgoing calls. After more time on the phone, they sent request to BT to clear ours (should be back on in 24hrs) and also for my parents but only after dispatching a BT engineer who confirmed the fault lay with Vodafone. As this incompetence is affecting two independent accounts I have to assume it is widespread and normal for Vodafone. When switching providers, the assumption that they will provide what you are paying for seems to be wrong. I am surprised and very unhappy with the standard of service from Vodafone. The inconvenience due to unreliability of service is simply not worth any apparent saving in cost. Avoid Vodafone for Home Phone and Broadband if you wish to avoid disappointment.

I have been tricked into joining Vodafone SuperFast 2. On the website i clicked broadband and then superfast 2. It brings up a comparison against other leading broadband providers with a comparison of speed, upfront cost, line rental etc. In the Speed (it states Mbps) Vodafone 63 - Virgin 108 - Sky 63 - BT 67 - This would be fine but the problem is Vodafone are comparing there 'Sync' speed to the download speed of the others making the comparison a scam! I joined as i was expecting to get 75+ Mbps for a great price! Except my actual download speeds are 30-37 witch is the same as my previous provider and is actually the Speed one would expect from there SuperFast 1 deal. I contacted support and was told the following witch i have a copy of in my email.

    .............
Jessie : For my area CB98JS what is my Minimum download speed?
Richa : Can you please confirm the complete address?
    Jessie : xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Richa : Thank you.
    Richa : Minimum guaranteed speed
    73.79 Mbit/s
Richa : Apart from this, is there anything else I can help you with?
Richa : Hi, are we still connected?
Jessie : Is that minimum download speed? Or sync speed or are they one and the same?
Richa : Ye right that's the same.
    Richa : Yes*
Jessie : That is all. Thank you

^^ This from is from vodafone stating that Sync and Download speed are one and the same!!!!! Then why am i receiving 30-37 Mbps? I will tell you why! They scammed me into this contract! Customers care about Speed! Upload/Download and latency aka ping and who can offer that at the best price and what customer service do they offer. My Sync speed could be 1000000000000 Mbps and i would still be downloading at 30-37 Mbps. that is just the speed the router comunicates to the exchange as long as that speed is high enough to not affect my expected Upload and Download speed and latency then why would i or anyone else care? How Vodafone actually get away with this stunt is amazing!!

Honestly dont join Vodafone Home Broadband You have no idea what ACTUAL Download and Upload Speeds You will be getting until Your in the contract! AVOID. The only positive i can think of is atleast even with all there speed lies and scam to grab customers the value for money is not bad i pay 36 a month and i get 30-36 mbps i know i should e=be getting double that but i fell for the sync speeds. Dont do the same! AVOID them at all costs! You have been warned

Vodafone have been utterly incompetent in most aspects of the set up and [non] execution of my fibre broadband service. 3 dates were given, each one assuring me that today was going to be the day when, finally, I would be 'activated'. 3 times I was disappointed. No more. I hope they cancel my broadband order more efficiently than they activated it. Customer Service were pleasant, but useless AND HOPELESS. Vodafone, never, EVER again. DO NOT SIGN UP

Doesn’t worth to buy this provider. It’s the most useless broadband ever. Don’t even try to get it, you will be so disappointed!
Useless router, keeps interrupting without any reason.
Customer support just lies all the time!
Speed is going down sometimes, that can’t even load a google page.

So it took us well over a month before our broadband was connected; i mentioned straight away we had no dial tone but they continued to run all their checks before requesting a bt engineer. On the plus side, being an existing vodaphone customer, they bumped up my mobile data to keep us going. Once we were finally up and running, the internet continuously drops out and we’ve had to have another engineer come back when it failed to come back on, so not a big score on reliability.

Unable to comment on speed. Spent nearly 2 months trying to set up broadband. Got sent the box out all plugged in and set up. No internet. Told it was an exchange. Rang back after a month of no internet. Told it had been cancelled in error. Told end of the week. Then told there was a system error on my account. A joke in terms of service. Promised it would be all sorted. Absolute joke. Still no broadband 2 months in.

they promised me the earth everything from of course they loved me right up to the cheque is in the mail .
right from the start they were awful i was locked out due to confusion over username etc i was on the fone or e-mail for 4 hours to change details i was still locked out as the customer service advisor put wrong addres in complained on website was called back by john from the directors office who again assured me he could sort out we made an appointment to call on the Monday morning he didn't call until 2pm when i mentioned it he said he was busy (i didnt have anything else to do like work ) but if that is the standard of the service i am not surprised he is busy the only thing he got right was cancelling my subscription and getting me a returns bag for equipment . gave 1 star because impossible to give none .

These bunch of idiots have just set up this broadband business without any damn clue.

Idiots can't even take over a running line to start the service, leaving us without any broadband for days.

An absolute regret and shame that we signed to them.

    an absolute joke!
slow speeds, shoddy connection, router not fit for purpose.

And after the contract ends they have the nerve to threaten to fine me £72 for a router that I didn't return (becuase they hadn't bothered to send me the return label!)

After seeing so many negative reviews I figured I'd give my own review after having very positive experience with Vodafone. My broadband was available and activated straight away on activation day, 6 months later when we moved we unfortunately were not connected on the activation day however the day after I called customer support who were very helpful and got us up and running within 20 minutes.

My only issue with vodafone broadband would be that it does cut off at times and you have to switch the router off and on again, however no other issues as of yet.

6 months of poor service so far... I can't say I have been happy with Vodafone; the speed is much slower than advertised. I typically get 11Mb/s, I'm paying for 38Mb/s. It was running at 35Mb/s for the 1st 10 days. Never again since.
Unfortunately, the customer service experience is poor. The staff are polite and apologetic but nothing improves. They like to blame me the customer and they do not follow through with what they say. This has resulted in many wasted hours on the phone and web chat.
I would strongly recommend anyone to look elsewhere for their broadband.

Been with them for 2 months following their promise of speed or discount. But all I've had is an unstable internet service and promised from multiple people who must just follow the same old script that still won't resolve the issue. Online chat, phoning and emailing gets you nowhere. Trust me if you're getting good enough broadband don't consider moving just because the price looks good. You will regret moving to Vodafone!!

If I wasn't already convinced that Vodafone's customer service was dreadful, the threat of £72 charge for not returning a router sealed it! Decided to drop them for another provider after poor service (had to use Google DNS to get some site to work) and blocked sites too (nothing dodgy - just regular sites) I needed to move. They stated how I had requested to return their router (I hadn't) so would be sending out a returns bag. That's fine - I don't need the router so they can have it back. No problem. Two weeks later still no bag but now I'm getting threatened with a £72 charge for not returning it! 45 minutes on the Live Chat today trying to sort this out. I will happily tell everybody how poor Vodafone is now, so it will cost them more than £72 in lost future business.

Been with VF for a few months now, after switching from BT due to cost.
Speed steadily getting worse with increasing drop-outs.
Customer service have actually been very polite and helpful - have called me back on several occasions when promised. However I think they simply can't fix the issue. Basically speeds ( measured via various test sites) is consistently poor, plus the wi-Fi coverage in house seems inferior too.
I am considering switching again (back to BT probably) as VF are unable to provide a fast stable service. I stream a lot of sport and it's impossible to enjoy a full football match without buffering / drop-outs

The worst experience I have ever had with a telecommunication company. I had a mobile broadband, the website stated clearly that the end date of the service. Three months after the end date, I get a bill for the past three months. I call them up and they tell me that I have to give a notice and the services will be cancelled after a month and I will have to pay for 4 months in total after the "end-date" of the service.
The customer services and complaint lines advisors are very rude. Whenever I asked a question, their reply was, "Well, that's very unfortunate""Well, that's how it is".
What I didn't understand is why there were no emails sent in the past three months to tell me there is an outstanding balance? and they didn't have an answer for that. They don't care about their customer satisfaction, they only want to squeeze and extra amount of money.
Very bad service, very rude customer service agents.

Not sure what the hating is all about. After being with talktalk & Sky in the past Vodafone are a refreshing change. The best broadband customer service if not one the best customer service full stop.
A few weeks after getting broadband it went down fof some reason & they sorted it, up & running again with an engineer within 24 hours. Changed my payment date twice & no issues at all. Speed is good, every now & again it may lag a little but its rare & tbh its to be expected, the speed is the same regardless who've I been with.
Highly recommended, don't let the reviews put you off - don't forget most people only review to moan so you don't get to see the good side
