Terrible service, taken off line on 23rd may by origin from my last supplier and told I would be back on line by 12 mid night.
It's now 5th June and still no internet , new going live date now 9th June , they say they are waiting for BT to connect me, but they should have not disconnected me until new service was ready to go live

Avoid this company if you can! It takes absolutely ages to get through on the phones. I have had to make many phone calls to try and sort out a refund as they have taken too much from my account. Keep getting promised a call back, no one ever calls! NOT ACCEPTABLE. Still not resolved and has been going on since beginning April 2017.

At long last origin seem to have got their act together. It has been a long haul since march when i joined, but it seems they have caught up with the deluge of people joining. A great part of resolving billing problems etc has been due to the excellent help provided by Hollie Hartly & her colleagues in complaints dept, who are doing their very best to sort all the problems. Thank you all very much.I now look forward to a long association
with your company.

Very poor all round, takes 45+ minutes to get to talk to someone. My biggest problem was with them taking too much money from my account with the direct debit, they were taking too long to resolve the issue so I was refunded with the direct debit guarantee and moved providers. So watch you accounts closely.

Took out a contract but then decided to stay with bt
2 days later. Told I could cancel within 14 days and get full refund. Chased for refund of first payment, no answer to emails or calls. Went through resolver and escalated the matter to the ombudsman and now 6 months later they have issued a refund but with no explanation of why they took so long or refused to answer my communication. Do not go near this company.

Been an Origin customer for a while now, charges are quite good and whilst there are no problems everything is OK. However, if you experience a problem trying to get it sorted is unbelievable. Recently my router packed up due to a power cut, trying to get hold of technical help is next to impossible. I literally spent 102 mins. on one call waiting to be answered. Subsequently I had to ring a couple more times with waits of a similar duration. During this time you have to listen to a loop of interminable music that is like being exposed to Chinese water torture. To be fair when you finally get to speak with someone they are patient and helpful. Trying to get some response from customer service is a waste of time as there doesn't appear to be any. When my contract is concluded I shall be looking for a different provider. Hope my router lasts until then.

If only I had read the cacophony of negative reviews here before signing up with this shower of clowns.
The only thing they managed to do right was take £30 from my bank account. Speaking of which, I had better instruct my bank to cancel the direct debit, because I have no faith that Origin will follow through on my request to cancel and not try and take more money next month.
Their website barely works. The emails lie about when you will be contacted. I called customer service to find out when they would be connecting my internet and they seemed put out that I was contacting them only a week after I had paid money.
Another week later on the day I was told to expect an engineer, and I had taken time off work, and I call them again to find out when they will be here.
Of course nobody is coming, and somehow they try to make it sound like that's my fault because Fibre isn't available in my area? WHAT?!?!
Avoid like the plague.

Failed to cancel with my previous provider as promised.
Accepted responsibility a month ago but not doing anything about it despite promises. Multiple failures to ring back and return e-mails. Also lied to regarding someone who was allegedly on compassionate leave but was in the office all the time. Platitudes but no action.

Horrible line and even worse customer service.
Very low speeds, half of what I was in my previous provider and constant fluctuations. They say 4mbps is normal and there's no problem having that. I think in the 90's we had better speeds than this.
If you dare call them, first you need to wait 45 minutes to get to their first line support, so that they can pass you to another team and wait 45 minutes. Things become dismal when they put you back and forth 4 or more times, each time being put in the bottom of the queue and go through verification every time...

I'm so disgusted with origin broadband. I have called in 7-8 times in the last 6 weeks of being with origin, as every few days my broadband disconnects. They also told me my monthly payments would be £17 but they take £36. I would not recommend anyone joins this company. Each time I have called in I spend minimum 1 hour on the phone. Terrible I'm shocked by service of this company.

Broadband connection and speed ok, but customer services and billing is shocking. My first bill has been a total shambles. Should have been £17.99, but came in at £35.98 (2months) it was then amaended to £8.00, allow how I have no idea. So the bill shows £8.00 and they take £63.96!! They can not explain this at customer services, and 4 days later the billing department have still not got back to me despite several phone calls. Have even emailed their CEO, Oliver Bryssau, who can't even be bothered to reply or get one of his team to call me back. I can now see why the cheaper broadband option is not always the best!! A new business shouldn't start up until they have everything in place, which clearly they haven't. I will name and shame out of frustration, so come on Tom and Ryan in customer services, where's my call back promised by the pair of you??? I'm still waiting! Stay away from this company in my opinion. I except errors, but not poor after care when the problem is on their side.

Dissatisfied from all points of view. Internet speeds are the lowest of all providers I have had in the 4 years I have lived in this flat. When I call Origin I have to wait ages on the phone. Once I get through to someone they pass me from one department to another and nobody seems to know anything. Managers are never available to take my calls.
Switching to Origin was a mistake, one I hope not many others will make. Avoid avoid avoid!

What a complete shambles from start to finish, After making an initial payment was given set-up / switch over/router delivery dates which came and went with no other correspondence.
Decided that I should cancel as Origin Broadband could probably not deliver what they are advertising. I cancelled the account, which did not generate a refund for which I have now had to chase 3 times by phone with a total call time running past the hour mark. Its been nearly 2 months since I cancelled! The operative was quite helpful but when he asked me why I cancelled before the set-up and I told him what had happened he was apologetic but then told me about the 50% of negative reviews that I would read about any IP provider!! I asked him what that had to do with my "relationship" with Origin Broadband and pointed out that this focus on other companies problems (largely irrelevant to me) was probably why they could not and cannot get their own house in order.
A company destined for bankruptcy, Prince Voltan adverts or not!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I have only been with Origin for 2 and half months or so. When I first spoke to a representative, he told me that the Internet would be free for a year, so all I would have to pay would be £19.99 for the line rental and that would be all, so just to be sure I said,
"Now let me get this clear, I just pay £19.99 and the Internet is free; with no surprise extra charges like £30 for this and £40 for that?"
He replied,
"No, no no! Trust me! Just the £19.99 and that's it! No extra charges...honest!"
"Ok...I hope your telling the truth cause I haven't got money to throw around!"
Anyway, in that time, I have already had one charge of £27 then I checked how much my by next bill would be... £49!!! So I rang up to query it, as clearly, I had been deceived just as I had feared! It took over an hour to answer the phone!! My boyfriend and I had to have shifts!!
When they finally did answer, she then explained that they took payment for March as I had started my service part way in the middle of a month and also I have to pay for June and July in advance!! So I said if I make a payment now, of £19.99 that should leave me with what? Would you beilive she STILL found a way to tell me I still owe £49 pounds!!
So that payment was just two weeks ago date today 10/05/17 May. Would you belive they have already taken £46 for June and July!!! I wasn't expecting them to take a payment until the next month, but here they are already taking money WAY TOO EARLY!! As it stands, I have paid way more money than I have had the service for which can't be right!
I'm begining to feel as though I'm being conned here.
My boyfriend is going to look into it...he use to be a Barrister!
I really do not recommend anyone joining due to the lies I was told on joining and being told to make payments WAY TOO EARLY. The payments taken has really inconvenienced me financially!!

The switch from TalkTalk was easy, the router arrived early and connected easily
However, the Broadband was not turned on, speed at 0.1Mb. I assumed it soon would be, but I had to go away for 5 weeks. When I returned the broadband was still not on. I called and was told it would be within 24-48 hours, but that was incorrect. I called again and was told they could not connect me for 12 days!!
So I am in limbo at the moment; very poor

ORIGIN - THE UNITED AIRLINES OF BROADBAND. Awful, if only I had checked what they were like before signing up. I have had my home number since 2004, I signed up for them in my "granny flat" and they took over the main house number, changed it to a different number and now say they can't get my number back. They ignore emails, make you wait for hours on hold. This is how it works - if the person you eventually speak to gives you their full name they will fob you off with false promises, if they won't give you their full (?real) name they are obstructive and when you say "I just want you to restore the home and business number I have had since 2004 and which I never gave you authority to take over restored" you are told you are unreasonable. This company is shocking, dreadful, worse than rubbish, they are arrogant, pompous, obnoxious, they are worse than incompetent, and they are completely unrepentant, I will be following the example below and complaining to the Ombudsman. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THIS GRIEF - DO NOT SIGN UP TO ORIGIN.

Terrible. Never fulfilled the contract, never did connect me, although had no problem taking my money. Put on hold endlessly.... only one technician at third time I called, with a waiting time of 26 minutes. Fed up trying to get through, no call backs when cut off... this is what happens when one tries to support a new startup instead of big company. I am calling my bank to refund the fees that were taken out if they do not do it... am on hold at the moment so taking the time to do this review. Flipping can't stand One Direction either, have now heard whole album I think!!!

Looking on here I see it's all been said before.4 Months on and my service is dreadfull. Constant dropouts, hours on the phone to the helpdesk, and I do mean hours for every call! Emails never answered and left with Ofcom to try and get some help.
I am another user who can't wait for the contract to end.
I know it's hard to belive but they are as bad as the reviews say.

If I could give less stars I would. The customer service is horrendous.
They have removed their live chat and ignore their emails. If you have the time to call them (as you will be on hold for well over 20 minutes) then you are met by rude staff who read off scripts and couldn't care less about helping.
I'm furious with my service and locked into a 12 month contract. Can't wait to get away from these time wasters, roll on 12 months!

Absolutely awful company AVOID!!! Every month I have to call as the internet is not working I have spent over 3 hours on hold this week with no answer. Then When I finally do get through they say there is no issue and are going to send an engineer out, which by the way may charge you if it's your fault! Of course it's not my fault!! What the hell am I paying for?? As soon as the issue is fixed I will be taking my business elsewhere. I will also be contacting the ombudsman. What a joke of a company they won't be around long so get out while you can. I have only put one star for each because you can't do a review with none.

Update on my previous review from several months ago:
My situation did not improve with Origin. You have 8 weeks from when you first reported a problem to them for them to fix it. If they do not fix it by the time the 8 weeks is up, you can report them to the Ombudsman.
I ended up counting down the days until the 8 weeks was up and finally the day came when I could report them to the Ombudsman. I did and two weeks later I had ALL of the money back that I had paid them and was out of my contract.
ANYONE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH ORIGIN - I URGE YOU TO REPORT THEM TO THE OMBUDSMAN. YOU MAY BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF YOUR CONTRACT AND BE REIMBURSED.
I now have a fiber connection with Hyperoptic who have incredible customer service, contactability and reliability. Much happier now, no stress, and I can put the Origin broadband saga behind me at last.

I have never experienced such poor service, and am counting down the months to leaving!!
I'm grateful I'm only on 12 month contract.
Receive no bills, and when money taken from account discover I've been Incorrectly billed.
No one bothers to reply to emails, that includes Oliver Bryssau, the Managing Director.
The sad thing is that it's a very affordable service, but that comes at the expense of no customer care values.

Dreadful! Avoid at all costs. Set up in February and have ongoing issues with:
- them sending engineers without telling me and trying to charge me for missed appointments
- takes hours to talk to anyone
- really slow speed
- failed to tell Sky I was joining them to take over the line, resulted in me overpaying for two services and now I am out of pocket because of their mistakes

Phone connected on time but took a further 9 days for broadband to be connected. If you're an existing customer they take a very, very, very long time (>1 hour)to answer the telephone, but answer straight away if you go through to sales! So be prepared to wait.

I was with Origin for just one year. The broadband service was mediocre but the real problems began after I moved my service to another provider. They continued to send bills and insisted I was still their customer. This didn't worry me too much since I had already cancelled the direct debit at my bank. But then ORIGIN illegally reinstated the direct debit and basically stole £27 from my account.
