To be honest I'm a bit confused by some of the reviews here. We have had problems with our broadband connection and in fact the problem still exists but some of the comments about customer service are surprising to say the least. When I have phoned the advisers there have been nothing but very patient and courteous. We had a long standing problem and as a result we were given six months free! so that can't be that bad can it?

Speed is a sixth of what other providers are claiming on fibre. Our Fibre connection is provided via BT's network. The speed is really poor at present for some reason of late the fibre speed rarely gets above 20mb

Sky are advertising offers to existing customers on third party web sites which when linked through double in price... what a coincidence. No point trying to email - you can't. You can write a letter - yes, write a letter in 2015 or you can wait for days on end to get through to online live chat on the off-chance that you'll find a gap between the hundreds of irate customers and get connected. Failing that you can call them and once through their pathetic line filtering you get to speak to a jumped up little liar who doesn't realise that he could do better for his minimum wage than telling lies to customers. Can't wait until my contract expires as it will not be renewed.

Had an engineer who visited us today. Couldn't fault him in terms of arrival time, manners and skill at connecting a new sky box and explaining the changes from our last box. Very pleased with service. Thank you.

I am from Brazil, I had bad internet providers before, but this is by FAR, the worst broadband I had for the past 15 years... I can barely submit a review... Called 10 times to sort it out, they change the channel I point to, works fine for a day, and for the next week it's shitty until I call again... RUN from Sky!

Have had months and months of the broadband cutting out done every single check they ask but still they would not send out an engineer. They eventually said oh! you need a new router that's £65 we told them no way their equipment and if faulty their job to replace or breach of contract they then offer the router for just under half price. Stuck to my guns said no way eventually router for the cost of postage £6.95 still stuck to our guns and said no! After this they then put me onto a manager thousands of miles away still, with crap English.
They then do more checks online, now it is not the router but still refuse to send out an engineer.
Long and short we signed up to another ISP and low and behold the crummy 3mbs drops to an average of 1.5mbs and even as low as 0.5mbs we are approx. 1 mile from the exchange so no reason not to be close to the " Upto 17mb speed".
Stay clear of this company they are total garbage.
Broadband that keeps disconnecting sometimes 5-10 times in an hour is not worth even having if it was free never mind actually paying for it.

Do not touch Sky with a bargepole. They blocked my girlfriends mother's number so she could not call her; she was clearly using the so called 'unlimited call' package too much. I was paying for a service that these cowboys blocked and then said I couldnt cancel. I dont think so, im off to Virgin.

Very very very slow and unreliable broadband. Customer service does not exist. Ended up staying on the phone waiting to talk to someone for ages. No response to anything. There is no other way of Contacting other than calling. To cancel the contract, i have to pay a cancellation fee. If you fall for their bs, youll be stuck with crap internet and wont be able to do anything about it.

Just atrocious. The speed is terrible, but the reliability is worse. At least twice a day we have fo restart the sky router because it has lost connection and when it does work, the speed is terrible. I've used many other providers over the years and Sky really sucks. Holding back the UK. I can't wait until the contract ends. Avoid avoid avoid.

Absolute worst internet provider ever created. I don't know how they are still in the business. If you can even get onto the internet then you'll find a website, or even a whole popular IOS browser is blocked. Not only that, but you have to pay to get the browser, which means you're paying for a digital paperweight! How fast is it? Slow. Really slow. It's 2015 and I can;t even properly watch a Youtube video in 720p. Every single multiplayer game has poor connection. It's not my computer either. But you can't take responsibility in your own problems so obviously, according to you, it's my fault. It's my fault that you can't deliver internet to my house or even be asked to update the router which is literally the same model router that I remember having in around 2005! That's 10 years ago and you're still shipping your customers with the same flimsy bit of unattractive plastic that has a few flashy green lights on it?! If you're even considering of getting Sky, please don't. You'll regret it. I'll regret it. Every other miserable Sky customer will regret it. They don't deserve to take your money and 'give' you a service you never receive! Surely, in this day and age you can give me a download speed over 1Mb/s! I could probably walk over to the guy who made the webpage, get the information I was looking for and come back before the information had actually downloaded. It's ridiculous. Someone spends money on your internet because they, believe it or not need it to do anything now. Instead, all they are left in return is a waste of space and a bigger bill to pay, still facing the same problems that they faced before. I don't even know what to say. Believe in better, with another internet provider which actually provides internet. Sky's cloudy. Chances of slow internet speed with areas which will get internet down time. Lets get some things straight. BT supply good TV and Internet and phone. Virgin Media supply all sorts of things. Sky supplies a bad TV service, awful internet, bad phone, bad customer service with bad attitudes and low GCSE grades. They may sound nice on the phone but that's just part of their job. It doesn't mean they are nice. And a clear example of that very thing is shown here. With Sky Broadband.

Forget about them. They refuse to trouble shoot your broadband line if you cannot prove that you can make phone call from it?! I only have broadband. No phone. I can hook up my ancient modem and call me. They don't understand. They force me now to buy an analog phone so I can make 1 phone call so they can send a technician? Outrageous backwardness.

Sky t.v is ok. However there broadband is shocking. Works ok when downstairs, but go into one of the bedroom and you can't connect. It's useless for me, as I use the Internet more in the bedroom, than downstairs. However when I'm trying to connect upstairs most of the time I can pick up at least 4 Virgin media boxes that are nearby, but not my own!!!! It's really is shocking. Thinking of moving to Virgin because of this, which is a shame really, as been with Sky for long time and had no probs with there t,v etc. but maybe it's time to say goodbye.

The worst broadband possible. I know people near by who also have the same issues. Disconnecting from the internet and extremely slow speeds are the main issues but often it will just go down for a whole evening. Again friends who live by also are affected by this. Truly shocking.

After having Sky broadband for a few months now, I have not received anywhere near the quoted speed of 7Mbps; typically peaking at 3Mbps. I have complained several times and still nothing is being done. I have used the app 'speedtest' just now as the broadband has restricted me from completing my work at home, resulting in 0.11Mbps!! Now to wait on hold to receive some kind of incoherent answer without any sort of resolution.
Stay clear of Sky broadband!!

No problems with TV or phone, it is the broadband that is diabolical, it looses emails, and has a very intermittent service. Sky is predominantly a TV service, so forget their broadband and use someone like BT or Tiscali.

Easily the worst broadbrand I have ever used. Slow, unreliable and no help offered to deal with these issues. I would strongly recommend everyone to choose a different provider for their broadbrand as Sky will only disappoint with their services.

I complained about terrible broadband and she said it was down to me to sort it out. After constant calls and doing this and that (to no avail), I have given up. After nearly 30 years with Sky I am going elsewhere for my phone and broadband. WHY WON'T SKY ADMIT THEY ARE THE PROBLEM??????

Sometimes in life you make mistakes.
From day dot I have used broadband and TV packages in various countries and Sky is unique as it is the one that has managed to win the accolade of being the worst in both categories.
They provided a package that was less than promised.
They then upped the costs.
And then they upped the cost again.
The TV package has never been able to provide catch-up or movies (despite numerous calls.
You cannot record more than one program (I should have checked that)if you want to watch another.
The broadband speed is akin to snail mail.
It often drops out.
The mistake I made was switching from Virgin as I thought they were expensive and not very good on the service side.
As soon as the 12 months are up I will ditch Sky and go with a broadband supplier and just use free to air TV.

By far the worst and most unreliable service I have ever received. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR IF YOUR AFTER A RELIABLE SERVICE. You never get a phone call back from the engineers when promised & broadband goes faulty for months at a time.

Been with Sky for over 15years and not had any bother. Looked at getting fibre broadband in & someone else was cheaper. Then the problems with Sky started. I'm told i get upto 46mbs download. I'm lucky if it touches 3mbs. Sick of the prices for Sky generally going up. One Sky operator told me it was to pay for the football rights. I don't watch football, so charge it to the sports channel subscribers. Next i was told it was to invest in more 'great' programmes. Sorry but as much as the fanfare for Fortitude, it was crap! Isn't that what adverts are for? We don't see ITV, C4 of C5 charging us. They've lost me as a customer, maybe when they realise their shooting themselves, they'll do something to halt the exodus of customers.

Absolutely shocking! Stay well clear of sky when it comes to broadband. We went with sky for a deal on our Internet, TV and phone. The latter two we have no issues with. The broadband however is an absolute joke! We were with Virgin who were absolutely fine and gave good service. We are returning to them as of today. The connection to sky is more off than ever on, slow and does not even reach our 2nd floor, when the box is only on the first floor. Try to go on the Internet past 10.30pm you have no chance, it's like it's closing time in the Sky office and they flick the broadband switch off till 9am the following morning. It is so fustrating and at times stressful, when waiting for pages to load or a little bit of signal to come back when you've been sitting there for an 1hr just hoping for the loading page to load! Please take my advice and stay well away from Sky!!

Me and my family have been using Sky Broadband for a few years now and it didnt give us as many problems as it does now. For the past 6 months (I believe) its been a torturous experience. The broadband turns off whenever it feels like and it happens every 5 minutes now, before it was every few hours it is unbelievably unrealiable. We have been back and forth with the Sky team countless times, I have lost count and there has not been any progress. Same thing, different day. We have been loyal to Sky as it was good to us for the first few years but now I am just getting completely frustrated. The amount of times I've gone over my phone internet data because I couldn't use the wifi at home is ridiculous. What are we paying for? The customer service team have been a pain in the ass to be quite frank. You'd think we would receive some form of compensation for the lengthy inconvenience the crappy service has caused us right? Nope we got nothing of the sort. I think we have reached the point of cancelling the contract, sort it out Sky you've just lost a valuable customer.

I decided to cancel my Sky subscription because of the price rise to cover football.Gave them 31 days notice on 25/4/15, this took 30 minutes on the phone with someone who did not know what no meant. Had another pleading phone call, then the day after my final payment on the 29/4/15 I had an email to say my programmes had been blocked. I found I could watch but not record programmes. I had a online chat and was told I had not been blocked but must have a software problem (what a coincidence)then was offered a new box with a new contract.I asked for my money back but was told the recording bit is a free service ! I did think I might renew after a year or two but after this experience,no chance.

If you are looking for a connection that allows you to watch a 2 minutes video in 10 minutes sky is the connection to be with, not only do I have the filter added on to sky but the booster aswell, I have to say sky connection is really bad, it has been problem after problem after problem, it is a struggle to keep one tablet online with little as 2 bars of connection

I would give them negative stars if I could for their broadband service is pathetically slow to the point that it may as well not be called a service and their customer service is worse than pathetic. If you are looking for an ISP in London, do NOT get SKY INTERNET, you will completely regret it, they cannot do a simple thing right - as in they won't be able to get you on broadband really because they don't care about the customers at all! Sky and anyone working at this con-job should be ashamed of themselves! Shame on you!

Had nothing but trouble with Sky broadband since they took over Febuary 2014. Never had any problem when 02 were running the service. Since Sky, the connection has been intermittent, dropping off and on throughout the day. Would NOT recommend them to anybody.

Never voluntarily use Sky broadband. Definitely never pay for it. Customer service is useless, connection is intermittent at its blindingly best performance. If you do ever find yourself with the misfortune to have to try to rely on sky broadband, make your way to the nearest macdonalds. Youll be better off with a coffee and the free wifi there, as your sky broadband will cut in and out with no warning, leaving you extremely frustrated and wondering why you ever got rid of your first dial-up connection.

I switched to Sky a couple of months ago, and have to say that the service so far has been great.
Previously,my ISPs were Tesco and before that Talk Talk. Each time I switched, I had encountered numerous problems - so I was expecting the same type of hassles again. Including not being connected for a couple of weeks due to "technical difficulties" as I live in an old victorian house with very old GPO copper wiring. But, no. The switching process was seamless, Sky kept their promise about the connection dates; their kit arrived early and in working order; my account was set up instantly and as a totally new customer I could track my order on line - minutes after signing up. On connection day I came home later that evening, plugged the kit in and switched it on. It connected through and worked as it should.
I was very impressed with how slick and seamless the service was.
During the first week the signal was bedding itself in, so was a bit up and down - I was warned about this. I also turned off the Sky Broadband Shield filter, as this did cause a few initial problems - but it's fine now. However, on occasion, the signal will just drop during peak demand - usually Saturday evening. So I have to run a diagnostic with the router via my chromebook - and things are up and running within a minute or so. I put this down to very old GPO wire, streetside, and an old exchange which is currently being upgraded.
Sky have just made their unlimited fibre service available, as an upgrade, so I assume that the work on the exchange has now been completed. I have just ordered this service and look forward to having a speed of 40mbs.
