Joined 2019, by beginning of 2020 blurry picture when streaming tv..contacted customer service 4 different occasions, always friendly & telling me they can sort it & one occasion that it was my fault..... changed settings my end, their end, new router etc, hours on chat spent, but- problems continue, internet connection comes and goes as does picture quality. AVOID. Can’t wait for contract to finish....should have read the reviews before joining.

Signed up for superfast 2, guaranteed speeds of +55mbps. Daytime speeds fluctuate between 5-25mbps. In the evenings it's around 5-15mbps. Have spoken to them numerous times - they finally admitted they have oversubscribed and they can't achieve those speeds. Another thing, their app is garbage, says you have 80mbps, when you have 5. Will speak with Ofcom and Trading Standards.

Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with Vodafone. Inconsistent speeds very unreliable rubbish you spend most the time listening to outdated music on the phone for hours on end .

Dont be tempted by price they offer... For the price you get a substandard router which will cut out as soon as more than 5 or 6 devices are connected. Vodafone have confirmed that the router can only handle 7 devices at once and i should switch my devices off when not using them. They also will not give you the passwords required to connect your own better quality router to improve the situation.
When i can get connected the speeds have been as advertised just dont look at your mobile phone whilst streaming a movie or you lose your internet conmection for 10 minutes while the router resets itself.
    Very poor product

Another tale of woe! How can Vodafone get it so wrong so often?

I had a nightmare trying to sign up online so in the end I phoned up. After 2 hours of messing around online it was all sorted in 15 minutes on the phone.

The good bits - the router turned up on time, the line when live and worked first time. I have 6 devices connected to the router and it hasn't fallen over yet.

The bad bits - they put me on the wrong package and when I told them, they denied it, said the slow speed was because of DLM....I am not that stupid.

Get to the online chat 3 days later and explain the problem, he says that I am on the 38mb package, so 34mb is quite good, shame I signed up for the 76mb package.

Then they want me to sign up for another 18 month contract to change my package, then they don't want to honour the £28 per month, including the £3 per month discount. It will also be another 2 weeks before they can change.

I reluctantly change and wait the 48 hours to get the email confirmation, I don't get it....I phone and they got the order wrong, it will be another 48 hours and then 14 working days.

Maybe I am the lucky one, at least it will only be 3 to 4 weeks before I get what I pay for....

I gave customer services 3 stars because they are nice people and polite and doing the best they can, they just work for a terrible company.

You'll see something in common along all of the reviews for Vodafone.

It works completely fine during the day, then during peak hours, it goes downhill considerably, you're talking down to around <3Mbit,

There's obviously some sort of general network contention issue going on. Trying to get an answer out of Vodafone is impossible -- you'll be told braindead suggestions like changing the WiFi channel over and over again, even when you've told them these issues happen on a wired device. As much as their support team are friendly and try to help, they are restricted to a script or ordering out an Openreach engineer, who will likely tell you (and in my case even show) that there's nothing wrong with your line. There seems to be no way to reach someone who can actually tell you what's wrong.

If you want to see it for yourself, just search @vodafoneuk on Twitter during peak hours.

Just go somewhere else, anywhere else, that doesn't seem to have these core network issues. They are the cheapest, but they are cheapest for the reason.

Rubbish. Router randomly reboots every few hours. Cancelled my contract & asked for a line takeover which I was told was done by CS - but CS put through a complete cancellation, meaning I lose my line & Number! Now in a dispute & prob going to need the ombudsman to sort out. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Very unhelpful when speaking with an adviser also I wish I had not changed from Sky as all it does is keep dropping the connection and if you contact Vodafone there advice is to check on line which is impossible as the connection has dropped, about as much use as a chocolate tea pot.
    Really annoyed!

signed up for superfast 1 but was signed up for superfast 2 when it all came through the sales guy must get more bonus i guess
so i thought i was going to get a faster service so i decided to live with it
after 4 mnths of speed issues and not even to be able to deliver their lowest guaranteed speed and regular calls to customer service i decided enough is enough
nothing has been fixed like they say they will do if there is an issue
i have now cancelled my contract
the minimum speed i should have got was 55 got 21 no where near what i was promised
the service didnt drop out too often
my advice is stick with what you know
the thing is they are all meant to use the same lines so how one can give slower speeds compared to your previous supplier i do not know
the only thing that changed was my supplier and when i did it was terrible
search for reviews for your new supplier on google before you sign up

If your looking to spend hours and hours on the phone dealing with Asian representatives of Vodafone trying to resolve issues your having with the service then look no further, you have found your cheap broadband provider who at every opportunity will try their very hardest to heap misery on you. The old saying of “you only get what you pay for” is very true in this case, cheap broadband with bad customer service.
I managed to get out before I was tied to them for two years by leaving within the 14 days grace period of my contract but even that had its drama, twice I was threatened with a early termination fee, the Asian team thought it was ok to use this tactic to stop me leaving the service and then after I cancelled the service the broadband still remained and again I spent hours on the phone telling Vodafone that I had cancelled the service and wouldn’t be paying for a discontinued service which consumed my whole Saturday morning. Vodafone customer service is one of the worst I have ever experienced.

Absolutely appalling service. Signed up last September (2019) all was well until January (2020) then the service went downhill. I was guaranteed a speed of 25Mps, mostly it was nowhere near that speed. It finally dropped to about 8 or 9 MBps at which point I raised a complaint. For almost 2 months I had to go through the routine of proving that it was not the connection inside my home that was the issue. Numerous times I had to disconnect everything from the internet and then switch off my router and re-connect everything. Only to show that the issue was not at my end. They finally resolved the issue in May by moving me to a less congested line (their explanation). All was well for ab out a month and then the speeds dropped again to around 8 or 9 Mbps. I telephoned to complain and refused to go through the process of disconnecting everything just to prove the issue was not at my end. I sent them screen shots of the speeds I was getting through a wired connection direct to the router. Their response was that they had checked the line and I was getting 40MBps sync speed, suggesting once again the issue was at my end. How could I get 40Mbps (this is the speed that is constantly displayed on their Broadband app even when the internet speed test was showing 8Mbps). How could I achieve that speed when the internet speed test was showing between 8 and 9 Mbps. There service is really bad and I would not touch them again. I have asked numerous times to be allowed to cancel my contract as they are not delivering any where near the speeds I am supposed to be guaranteed. Each time I ask to cancel they ignore my request. When the contract is up in September (2020) I will be moving to another supplier.

Terribly slow speed in this day and age, nowhere near the average speed they claim but apparently best for our area. Customer service has been decent but cant stop it disconnecting regularly, would never have joined vodafone and wont be doing again. Tbe superfast refund scheme sounds like they would just refund you the 15% and then do nothing at all.

Initially flaky but now just unreliable. Around 5 Internet drop outs every day. Hours spent with online help making set up changes. 2 OpenReach visits. Every time it was my responsibility to chase Vodafone to resolve the issue and they could never actually do anything useful. NO CHANGE - STILL NOT RELIABLE.

    DO NOT SWITCH TO VODAFONE.

Joined Vodafone Broadband recently and already leaving. Despite their promise of guaranteed minimum speed the speed has been very poor hardly reaching 10Mbps when it should be at least 35Mbps!! We had countless webchats and phonecalls and none of the playing with the settings, changing channel etc etc helped at all. Apparently according to many other unhappy customers the problem is the low quality router they provide you with! Goodbye Vodafone!

Absolutely atrocious. Avoid like the plague.

I have been a loyal Vodafone mobile user for 15+ years. I was paying for EE home broadband and average speed was about 7Mbs for roughly £30 a month.

Saw a Vodafone deal for 50Mbs, with a "guaranteed" speed of 35Mbs for £20 a month. No brainer right?

Well I guess it was a no brainer in the sense that I must have had no brain to sign up with them despite the bad reviews. BELIEVE WHAT YOU READ! They are awful, I am currently averaging 0.7Mbs. I think I had quicker internet in the last millennium.

I won't be paying my broadband bill unless they live up to their part of the deal.

The shop staff helpful but the customer service if you call about an issue is terrible. 5 hours on the phone today being passed piller to post and still not resolved. Cancelled my contract and will seek another provider. The shop staff don't have access to customer service or a useable phone in store. Yep vodaphonr shops have no phones for the staff to call out on.

Really poor on several levels. Slow internet and poor service throughout. Then we leave, purely because of this. Next, nearly 6 months after switching, we hear from a debt company who claim to be to do with Vodafone but look like scammers (how exactly does a debt collection agency make any money from fees of £17?). Vodafone next tell us not to worry, it sounds like a scam. Then back to square one as we get a letter about this. Now even more wasted time with staff who don't seem to know what is going on. Does the left arm of this company ever know what the right hand is doing?

Had it for four weeks and never worked. Had to ring every day for two weeks and make a complaint before someone told me the truth that it would take 2-3 months to be fixed.
They have oversold the capacity they have so in some cases all their customers that are connected to the same street exchange get very, very slow speed. I left and I am now very happy with now tv as it's just sky for less money.

I would recommend vodafone to anyone who fancies living without internet for two months. If not, then avoid at all costs. I wish I could comment on the speed but we are still currently waiting for an engineer to pay us a visit. Our first scheduled visit around the start of July had to be cancelled. However, when my partner tried to cancel it he was told that he couldn’t. When the engineer arrived to find that no one was in he called my partner and shouted abuse at him down the phone. Vodafone then rescheduled our appointment for two weeks time. The engineer did not turn up. When we contacted vodafone they had no idea why the engineer didn’t turn up and said they would call in a few days with information. Eventually we had to call them as they had forgotten to call us back. They rescheduled AGAIN for two weeks time on the 1st of August. During our wait, a member of the vodafone team accessed my partners personal details and messaged him on whatsapp which was completely inappropriate. The engineer failed to visit again and when we contacted vodafone, like the last time, they said they would contact us in a few days. Again, they did not. When my partner called they blamed OpenReach and the best they could do is reschedule for the 21st of August. They’ve tried to win us over with a free gift but just like the engineers, it probably won’t turn up either. Vodafone are completely unreliable and from what i’ve read, the wifi isn’t that great either. AVOID!

Changed from Sky due to price and guaranteed min speed of 25mbs. Guaranteed speed is a joke. App said synced at 25 mbs but speed test software saying around 5 mbs. They dropped the price by 15% but it is not worth the money. Sky was very reliable, very rarely dropped out and speed was pretty consistent. I would not recommend changing to this ISP unless you are willing to put up with regular drop outs and poor speeds. You get what you pay for.

Intermittent problems with both the line and the router. Works much better through a cable and my own wife discs (connected to a cable)

Customer services are truly terrible if you ever try and contact them.

If you need an engineer to visit then forget about the system. They don’t come when you ask, name their own day, don’t come on that day, don’t inform you and this you waste a day, and then bombard you will call centre calls days afterward to arrange another visit. And the cycle continues. I’m costing down the days left on my contract.

Worst tech support in the world! they haven't got a clue!

Raised a case with 'support' about less than 1MB/s download speed in the evening only. Mornings and afternoons were totally fine, just dropped to unusable speed during peak hours.

Every time I called them quoting the ticket reference, I'd ask them to describe the issue I was experiencing... it would take them about 5 minutes (at least) to figure out what I was complaining about! and most of the time I'd have to tell them the problem again. I think they just write notes on their computer system which is a terrible way to manage tech support tickets - that coupled with poor grasp of English Grammar means that their notes are illegible so the next tech admin cant decipher what the previous guy wrote (and so on). It's really not the fault of the support staff - vodafone have given them this antiquated IT system and they have put draconian time wasting procedures in place. Vodafone are no doubt taking advantage of these cheap call centers in Egypt and provide them with minimal training,

Then they asked me to take screenshots from speedtest.net for morning, afternoon and evening and send them the results via email - so that they could escalate the case to 3rd line support. I did so, it takes them 24 hours to validate the screenshots and then they ended up rejecting it - because they want the screenshot to cover the whole desktop!.. then I submit again and they reject again. Then I submit again and they reject again for some other silly reason. Each submission/rejection process takes 24 hours (minimum). Total bunch of time wasters

2nd Line support may as well be an automated voice service. 'Have you tried rebooting the router? Have you tried an ethernet cable? Have you tried another device? in that case send screenshots!' That's all they've got.

Also 2nd line, cannot communicate verbally with 3rd line. They send each other emails. Turn around to respond to each email is 24 hours (min).. they just wasted days and days and days and did absolutely nothing. My cancellation has happened before the ticket even made it to third line. Last I heard was they rejected the screenshots again for a 5th time due to two chrome tabs being open in one of the screenshots

Cheap broadband, good when it works - if you have any issues tech support is a nightmare.

My two cents, they were quite happy to hear that I got so frustrated that I wanted to cancel. They pretty much rolled out the red carpet and gave me a months refund and said they'd fast track the termination to be in 48 hours. I guess every case they refer to OpenReach costs them money.. that's why they put so many barriers in the way. They're happier for you to leave and take the issue with you to your next supplier. It works out cheaper for them.

Truly awful broadband. Continuously cuts out every single evening. Customer support is an Indian call centre who twice promised me callbacks, and failed to do so on both occasions. Raised a complaint online and got a callback from someone in the UK which fixed a modem problem, but not the stability. The provided speed is faster than plusnet; of course this is only when it works. Due to the constant lose of connection (the ps4 once notified me that Vodafone changed my IP address mid download, hence the lost connection to the server), I will be cancelling the contract as soon as I am able, and never returning. They are one of the cheapest on the market for a reason. There are a few reviews on this site giving them maximum scoring. I honestly don't believe a single one is legit.

Vodafone Wi-Fi is the worst Wi-Fi I have ever used, the range is rubbish the reliability is rubbish and the way you have to go through the chat bot to get to an advisor is a complete waste of time.

I switched to Vodafone for Home Phone and Broadband just less than 3 months ago. I also talked my parents at another address into doing the same thing on the same date. Vodafone have been utterly incompetent at providing a reliable service to us both since switching. About 10 days after activation we were both cut off from internet with no notification. After much time on the phone it became apparent that they'd completly lost all record of the direct debit we had set up with them when switching (same for my parents). Vodafone then notified BT to withdraw the block which takes 24 to 48 hrs. Having set up the direct debit again, the same thing happened again the next month, though at least this time they sent an email saying we were being blocked. After more lengthy phone calls to Vodafone they acknowledged fault and asked BT to restore service (another 24 - 48hrs without internet). After complaining, they also waived the bill for that month but charged us £5 late payment despite acknowledging their mistake. Now, today, they've applied call barring to both mine and my parents homes blocking all outgoing calls. After more time on the phone, they sent request to BT to clear ours (should be back on in 24hrs) and also for my parents but only after dispatching a BT engineer who confirmed the fault lay with Vodafone. As this incompetence is affecting two independent accounts I have to assume it is widespread and normal for Vodafone. When switching providers, the assumption that they will provide what you are paying for seems to be wrong. I am surprised and very unhappy with the standard of service from Vodafone. The inconvenience due to unreliability of service is simply not worth any apparent saving in cost. Avoid Vodafone for Home Phone and Broadband if you wish to avoid disappointment.

I helped my mother switch from EE to Voda home and broadband last year. She is elderly and depends primarily on the phone for emergency/doctor services the line also supports a connection to a emergency response/panic system.
She also relies on the internet for comms. with family and friends.

First few months were fine, broadband speed we measured to be on point and it was fairly reliable with the odd dropout. A month ago we got a dead line and broadband which I reported as a level 1 user via online chat which the agent acknowledged and informed me would take up to 72 hours to resolve. Admittedly probably a BT/Openreach problem with Vodafone being accountable to fix.
Agent was fine we had lost our support call credentials but had account number etc to he was able to process the fault resolution. Problem seemed to be resolved after a total of approx. 3 days downtime

Last couple of times the problem is back intermittently. I used the online chat facility again and was greeted by 'Shilpa' who dug her heels in and refused to process the fault because I couldn't provide account number/ref from previous fault call that she had on screen in front of her.. and any other personal details? I explained the seriousness of this and she was oblivious. Her 1st solution was to get my mother on the chat(hello to speak direct--despite the fact the problem I'm calling about is no broadband and phone access!!!

Second option was to access My Vodafone account and change credentials...I asked her to give me a link to the complaints process, made it clear she was providing a poor customer service and I needed to escalate..Her response ' We have an internal complaints process' and would provide a link or anything. Asked for the name of her supervisor that she said she had discussed the situation with...silence.

So...after 30 minutes of wasted time I tried to access my Voda account which guess what...didn't work. Back on the chat again and the agent sends me a credentials reset by email...which didn't work. Was told he would have to refer to the superUser to get it fixed which would take up to 24hours...24 hours is nearly up and nothing.

I've dad numerous problems with Vodafone customer service mainly from the offshore call centers who seem pretty inept. No more Vodafone for me I'm cancelling down my 3 phone lines, My mothers Internet wont renew. Never again.

Also don't be fooled by the 'no broadband access no charge' marketing ploy...remember that happy smiling chap on the advert. There is no automatic compensation on the back of fault. You are told to contact customer service and waste more time justifying yourself. Utter rubbish don't bother.

Extremely disappointed to the Vodafone broadband service! The internet has been continuously disconnected since I switched to Vodafone few months ago, almost once every 2 months, which affected my work seriously! Their outsourcing engineer Openreach is just crap, they came to fix it for several times, but never get the problem resolved, the internet keeps disconnecting from time to time! At the end of May, the internet was disconnected again, after many calls and complaints made, they eventually get the internet fixed after 6 days, I ended up had to work at my friend’s place during these 6 days, this is how ridiculous their broadband service is.…

AVOID AVOID AVOID. Unless you’re going to use your own router. The wireless router provided is incredibly substandard with the 2.4ghz download speed being under 2mbps. 5ghz is fast but the signal strength won’t reach upstairs in a modern, thin walled house. Through a Ethernet cable is perfect but who wants to use a cable these days!?

Broadband tech support takes over 30 minutes to answer and they basically try and fob you off with lies and even suggested that the router was old and I needed a new model. When I challenged why I was sent an ‘old router’ they said a new one had just being launched. I smell bull.

I ended up cancelling. Broadband was cut off earlier than they said leaving me without a connection for two weeks.

A truly awful experience and I will never go near Vodafone ever again.
