My 92 year old aunt only uses her house phone unfortunately while I was away on holiday her phone bill for £60 came in. I tried desperately to sort it and spent two hours on the phone to the Post Office. I couldn't get through to speak to anyone and as soon as I keyed my aunts in the phone cut off. I paid the outstanding bill and expected the phone to be put back on. She has never defaulted before. Not only did the post office cut her phone but also disconnected her from the service totally. Apart from leaving one of society's many st vulnerable people without communication she now cannot use the same phone number that she has had for 50 years. All of her friends will not be able to contact her and I cannot find her address book for me to contact them. Today I spoke to two very unhelpful and bordering on rude 'customer service' employees. My aunt might be able to be accepted back to the Post Office - I was informed. A company that does this is cruel and heartless and I will find another provider. I know it was my error to not pay the bill in time but a bit of leeway would have saved my aunt immeasurable trauma.

Engineer turned up to install 6th Sep 2017, could not find the external fault on BT line, so simply left, not a word.
Had to chase him down the road to ask, what was happening?
Told me, he only gets paid for work he can do.
I asked what happens next, he said to call the post office in a few days.
    Then walked off, FAILED.

I am disgusted that the post office pays people on ZERO hour contracts.
No wonder he left, BT don't help third party engineers on the BT kit.

This is BT kit the post office plays on you all know.

BT is stopping third party companies from using the network 100%.

BT is a scamming corporation that scams the post office with this poor access to the system and lines.

Remember BT was paid MILLIONS to make the UK ADSL compatible.
Yes, it is here in Forres, but ZERO capacity for new lines!

So MPS this is a SCAM saying covering 95% of the population.
Yes, its in TOWN but not available!

SCAMMING BRITTAN what else do you expect from FACELESS corporations.

The so called premium broadband speed and connectivity was badly affected by the router (a low quality budget unit) it never connected to some of our devices (I pad and Samsung phone) the speed was below 2.5mbs by wireless where we were receiving 10mbs through the wire. The staff on the help line were good, but they could not overcome the product deficiencies, this is a very low performance broadband router anyone with a number of wireless devices stear clear, also the PO are ruthlessly hard nosed about the whole contract buyer beware (they are not the old GPO)

I should have taken notice of the awful Post Office broadband reviews before switching from the(excellent) Fuel Broadband, who ceased trading unfortunately. I am now a week with no WIFI and incoming landline calls due to a faulty line, the Post Office says this is due to Openreach being 'busy' and 'understaffed'. Have had to call numerous times to get an update, each time I am fobbed off. Made a big mistake here and am going to do all I can to cancel the 18 month contract. My sanity will not last that long dealing with their extremely poor customer service

On 3rd July I received an email from them informing me that I now had a post office broadband contract, with no further explanation. This made me think I had been the target of ID fraud, and I rang them in a state of concern.

It was explained to me that POBroadband had bought Fuel Broadband, and I was informed that my monthly bill with you would be £30 a month. I objected to this, as my bill with Fuel had been £17 a month and felt it was unreasonable that they had bought Fuel and instantly added £13 on to their customers bills, and the only notice given was an email informing me that I had a new contract with them. At the end of the day I had an existing contract with a company they have purchased that they are now unwilling to fulfill.

After some debate it was agreed my bill would now be £20 a month. On 5th August I was sent my bill, and it was £22.50, as a £2.50 call bundle had inexplicably been added on, despite the agent having been told that I had no landline.

I called today to get this amended, and the first person I spoke to fobbed me off and then put the phone down on me. I called back, and while being on hold again I logged into my account and looked at the terms on there, somewhat annoyed that I appear to not only to have been transferred onto a new contract where I pay more, but now also have a contract with a company with very poor customer service, where my every contact with you to date has been entirely unsatisfactory.

On the website in the account details section it shows a summary of my package. I noted that here it states that under the terms of this package I get a free wireless router.

On asking about this (after sorting out the initial charging issues) I was told that I am not a new customer, as I have transferred from Fuel Broadband. I pointed out that I was on a new contract, so therefore I am a new customer, and I am certainly a new customer of your company having had no dealings with you until a week ago. At the end of the day if Fuel Broadband customers were existing customers then surely we should have had the existing terms of our contract honoured. It seems we are new customers when it suits PO Broadband, but not treated as well as other new customers who you give the free router too!

Incidentally, I also noted that on Comparethemarket.com they show up at the £20 rate, so its a pretty cheeky company policy to make Fuels customers pay £30 and then have to call you to reduce it... and argue like hell to get it down to the £20 they offer other new customers.

I was placed on hold 4 times as I went though all manner of departments for an hour, each time having to explain all this again and again, but ultimately to be told their company policy is we are not new customers (just new contracts) and therefore we get no free router... despite it saying we do on the account details page of the website. I was then told that this would be passed on to someone who could make a decision on this matter, as to whether as a gesture of good will to a very dissatisfied new/switched customer a new router could be sent out.

I received a call from someone in technical support who had been told none of this , and when it was raised gave me the same drivel about Fuel customers not getting new routers as we're not new customers by whatever backwards logic the (cost-saving) company uses to make its policies.

He told me all I could do was email support, which is what I did.

I was then called back 4 days later and told that I would be sent a free router as gesture of goodwill.

However, I was then billed £29.16 for this 'free' router, which the company is refusing to to pay back, and every agent I speak too just tells me that they do not do free routers and that this is the charge for a router, and they cannot refund it. They also say I have noew accepted the contract and cannot cancel for 18 months.

I have therefore not only been charged for something that was promised for free, but also have been duped into entering an 18 month contract I do not wish to be in, with a company with the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. I am now considering legal action, and would advise everyone to steer clear of PO Broadband.

We were switched over by Post Office broadband to high speed fibre-optic yesterday, which required a new router. We use four Apple computers in the house - and every one of them crashed as soon as they were connected to the new router. And by crashed I mean absolutely jammed up solid - we couldn't run diagnostic and repair tools, and the computers couldn't even be shut down or restarted. It took an entire day to work out how to get the Macs running again - and then as soon as you reconnect the router it does it all over again. We've never had problems as severe as this with the Apple's ever before. The two Smart TVs in the house work OK via the router, and iPads, iPhones and iPod Touches, and a Samsung phone work OK via the wifi - but we now cannot connect any of the Macs to the internet without them jamming up completely again every time we try. So we're having to rely on a couple of iPads for accessing the internet until the problem is resolved - if it can be resolved. We may have no other choice but to switch to another provider. There is obviously a major compatibility issue with the routers and Apple computers. One of the Apples won't even start up at all now and has the 'blue screen of death' even when disconnected from the router. Not only that but the broadband keeps cutting off constantly even when using the devices which still work. The reliability of the service up until this has been increasingly diabolical too - cutting off and slowing right down almost constantly. I wouldn't recommend this ISP to anyone - and especially not if you're an Apple user - and you don't want your Mac 'killed'. It took a lot of technical skill to get them functioning again which may be above the skill level of most people - and what use is broadband if you can't use it to connect to the internet at all. I recommend you use ANYONE ELSE except the Post Office if you have any sense. They also aren't answering their phones - and their service website has said 'the site is being updated' for sixteen hours - which does not instill confidence in their company service standards. I have NEVER encountered problems this severe with any service provider EVER before.

The broadband from this supplier is acceptable for my needs, although I agree that for its monthly low cost, it's good value. I would recommend it for a one device basic user not doing a lot of downloading.
Good entry level broadband giving uunlimited data if you want it at up to about 8 Mb/sec. in my location.

Currently watching an hours drama 30 seconds at a time with buffering of 30 seconds in between. I've complained
Numerous times. Apparently they are delivering service within stated paramaters - what a surprise - they are never in the wrong!!

Avoid - avoid - avoid!!! I'm going to have to pay a lot of £ to get out of the contract but it will be worth it - I've had enough!!

Again I am one of the unlucky customers who had their phone service migrated when Fuel Broadband (absolutely fantastic company) pulled out of the telecoms market. The comments made by all the previous reviewers ring so true and the staff require serious retraining. Their telephone operatives are incapable of listening to and understanding the context of phone calls to them, and it appears they are only able to support queries from a standard set. I feel extremely sorry for the staff employed by this organisation as they are being seriously failed by their employers and no doubt receiving vented phone calls from mightily disgruntled customers. Unfortunately, they are now the cheapest provider - this is evident in their level of service. Thankfully, I do not need to retain their services and have cancelled my contract and would highlight to anyone considering using this company that the old adage you get what you pay for, certainly applies here.

I was a Fuel Broadband customer, a happy one I hastily add. Post Office took over Fuel and its customers.

Post Office (Piss taker) charges former Fuel customers at £30.50 per month for a laughable bog standard broadband service at snail pace speed. Their Customer Service / Tech Support is last to none.

If you want to spend your all precious time on the phone to them, provide that it works, then sign up with them.

I just ordered the post office broadband and was giving a date and when they came they told me because I live in a block of flats I need the electricity key but when I placed my order no body told me anything about a key and it's not my line of work so if u live in a flat make sure u get your housing association to get u access to the electricity key because this team do not tell u what is required and now I have been left with no wifi and no body bothered to call me and arrange to deal with it I was left basically woundering what to do I just called them and it's a day later already and asked for them to call me bk because why should I waste my time and credit but no body called me bk just shows what kind of of service I will receive.

I have seen so many bad reviews of the postoffice broadband ,so I feel I must add my review for some balance.I have been with the postoffice since 2009 and I have no trouble at all. Two months ago I updated to their fibre broadband and I am still delighted with their service. The change over was 1st class, speed was stated to be unto 38mbs and I am getting 39mbs with no drop-outs.Price is competitive with the competition.
    Whats not to like !

Tried to change to this isp, wish I had seen these reviews before my move, same sort of problems as most others, I phoned customer help line several times as the broadband was not connecting, they quoted me 2 days to identify the delay, the bod on the line kept interrupting me on the phone, and would not accept their mistakes, contacted. My bank and cancelled the payment authority, luckily no money out of my account, po were in breach of contract as they had not provided the services they had advertised that they would, a very near, and lucky escape. Phew. !

We don't have any equipment with this company, post office broadband, they took over fuel broadband, and doubled the price, and they had attitude when we tried to sign up, then there was more rubbish from them so we cancelled and they wanted to charge us £200 for them not providing any service at all, the cancellation takes place on the 6th of September and we have to wait a month for open reach (as we all know that you can't contact this company) to switch a service back on, the post office, really needs dealing with by the communications services as there attitude is as poor as, I would not recommend anyone going to this company. They are awful.

I have been with the Post Office for around seven years now. I have to say I've stayed with them because they are cheap. I've always found the customer service poor but I've eventually been able to sort out the various problems I've had over the years.
I've had numerous issues with the landline for making calls that have all been fixed with no extra cost and also was charged for transferring my number when I moved home without being told there was a cost (after weeks of complaints this was finally waived).
The broadband has always been quite slow and intermittent at times but I've always gotten by with it.
Recently they have stopped sending my quarterly bill to me and I am only finding out once I've had the overdue letter through the door. This time I received nothing at all until they have put a call bar on my landline.
This is the last straw and I would seriously reconsider if you are looking to start a contract with the post office.

This company should be ashamed of them selves for deceiving people to join their broadband. It is absolute crap. Please please, do not make the mistake I made in joining them. I joined and it took one month to get it up and running, when it did, the speed is zero after I was lied to at the time of joining that it is a fast broadband. I gave one star because I could not leave it black. Post office broadband should be closed down. They are deceptive.

Ok, I have seen the reviews on here and thought I would write my own as people normally only write reviews when they are unhappy.. this isn't just broadband this is in general

this is a low cost low speed service we all know this from the get go, it is a DSL based provider and this is the left overs from talk talk's DSL as they now mainly run VIA high speed and fibre broadband..

with this being said we still expect a service that we pay for and often I see this is not the case

I think it all depends on where you live, I live in Crewe that's a very built up area with one of the best network coverage away from cities!

I changed to post office when I got rid of sky I also don't care about the lack in speed so wasn't fussed

I've had a good experience with them to be fair the speeds I get are around 6MB down and 0.50MB up via speed test . net I have had a few issues buy they got sorted fairly well ( the speeds do drop at peak times )

so if you are looking for broadband please make sure you know what you are getting into and if you do not live in a main city chances are you may run into trouble from time to time

but in the world as we all know we get what we pay for :)

I use iPlayer all out iPad etc. are linked and all seems well
    :)

I joined the Post Office two months ago and realise now you get what you pay for. They gave me a 'live date' which got moved on two days without informing me therefore I was without any internet as old provider ended. Wifi drops out mostly evenings and morning (the busy times according to the P.O.) however no problems using several devices within the home re connection. The worse thing I find is getting hold of them by phone. Several times recently I've rung and no one to take my call. Will leave at the end of my 18 mth contract.

This is the worst I've broadband in my life plus the service as well! When I first sign up they tell you u have 14 days to cancel the beard and if I dnt want it but I rang up they say diffrent things! The speed was so slow to the point that I just use my mobile data everyday glad is unlimited! It gets to the point I can't deal with it anymore I rang up and cancelled the broadband and the women ask me to pay £150+ cancellation fee! Wow... what an amazing customer service and company! Avoid forever! From the pass I rang up try to get the engineers out to sort out the problem they never sent one out due to the reason being I don't have a landline so is not first priority for just broadband customers? Seriously? Anyone want to sign up for their brardband I hope u better not ! Awful, now I am just waiting for my £150+ 50dya notice bill to my door!

Everything about the PO broadband is a joke. I had nothing more than problems from the day one and now, after 9 months I LITRALLY HATE THEM

They signed me up when I didn't even ask!!! I'm with another provider! They just decided to pick someone and add them as a customer. I tried to find out why they have my details.they won't say.I tell them I'm with another provider and never asked to be with them.they don't care.they say I can cancel ( something I didn't ask for) but I will have to pay.I have no choice but it seems like fraud or robbery to me.you could be next!!

As a broadband provider, utterly shocking. I'd seriously recommend to avoid. One android device is all it can cope with before a meltdown occurs. This was recommended to me and I'd never recommend to even my
Worst enemy. I do understand that the post office is trying to diversify to keep up with modern demand, but reading other reviews and based on my own experience, you've got it royally wrong here

AVOID Post Office Broadband. Speed is non existent! Technical team need training. I was told to do a speed-check and was given the wrong web address TWICE! Tempted to terminate my contract. Waiting to find out the cost. Very disappointed and needless to say will not be renewing with this shambles.

Appalling speed of less than 1mbps usually and they refuse to send an engineer or a new router or allow you to cancel the contract. Signal not even strong enough to watch iplayer sitting next to the router. Worse choice I have ever made.

Never worked from day 1. Phone too crackly to use, internet never came on due to fault which they said was faulty routers (2!). Now they won't even answer my emails and trying to get 2 months bills off me through debt collection agency! Turns out I had a simple fault outside my property which BT found within minutes! Avoid them like the plague!
