PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS...was with bt many years when contract ended i moved at same time had no broadband and phoned post office as had some info from my main exeter post office by a woman pushing broadband so got a leaflet and verbal info sounded ok i thought but with moving mislade it so phoned the post office to get through to broadband spoke to a adviser with a Liverpool ascent and asked many questions some of the info was wrong and she kept going off to ask questions putting me on hold for ages i was on my mobile phone at the time i questioned her answers some and she got very nasty saying she was experienced as i had asked to be put thu to a experienced adviser or manager i took her name and she after holding for ages said no one to speak too usual story these days i thought and she cut me off i phoned and complained and was just rude to again by another adviser then phoned again pretending to be a current customer and explained my complaints to a person who said i would get a call back i explained all and gave a first name as never any surnames as usual and as i had a time i wrote down was told they would listen to the call i was called back and told she would be spoken too and a person would call me back i manged to ask for a month free as had all the bother and got a call back to do a contract i gave all details to be told at the end they do a credit check he said i had been declined i said what i have a excellent credit of a high score with no negs so i requested it in writing /letter which i received saying experian is who they use i contacted experian who sent me a copy of my file credit and score a copy of any company who have done any checks no post office i was told what so ever i checked on net as well so contacted them post office by phone who insisted they had done a check and i was declined so i put a complaint in twice to get fobbed off with i was declined so complaint to experian who insist a full investigation has been carried out and gave me a final decision saying no contact from the post office so it was a cover up and time wasting stressful time i may go to a ombudsman type thing to complain but moving has taken its toll and as i look after a very old man who has had a stroke and has problems with memory so needed phone and broadband my advice is avoid post office has been privatized and the call handlers are not good at all so give it a wide birth i went back with bt who never questioned my credit when did a check the same day when i asked them was it ok they said yes no problems at all so went with them even tho post office seem cheaper dont trust them at all

We used this company and found them to be confrontational rude unhelpful and ignorant. They even suggested that it was our fault that the broadband went wrong due to our equipment being at fault and incompatible. They begrudgingly sent us a new router because they knew deep down it was their fault. When we told them we were leaving them, then and only then were they polite and tried everything to get us to stay. I can honestly say I deeply regretted using this broadband company.

I added Broadband to my parents Post Office phone account specifically because of the 12 month free broadband offer. After my father died i mistakenly thought it would be a simple thing to just take over the account and pay the bills instead of my dad ( by cash at PO )But no , they insisted on forcing through a change of responsibility - which meant starting a new account in my name.I told them that if they didn't transfer the 12 months free broadband i wasn't interested. After numerous calls i was vaguely assured that i would still get 12 months free broadband but i had nothing in writing, so i phoned them to cancell within the 14 day cooling off period.
Despite the cancellation the new account has still gone through and a charge for broadband has appeared on my bill - despite a letter turning up confirming the Free Broadband.
The call centre staff have completely ignored my wishes to cancell and lied to me at every turn.Unless you enjoy stress avoid the Post Office - needless to say i will try to close my account if they don't fulfill their promises, but they just don't listen i might have the same problem escaping in 18 months time. The only way to cancell is to tell Sky or Plusnet to take over the account and let them try their luck. What good is the 14 day cooling off period if they still ride roughshod over it and carry on regardless?

The Post Office slows down the line between 5pm to midnight during the week, and through all the weekend, making it practically impossible to use the internet at all, let alone stream TV or play games. Before signing up, they said that only heavy users are sanctioned like this, and as I am not anywhere near using their 100GB/month limit I assumed I would not be affected. How wrong I was.

They asked me to run speed tests on their site for 24 hours, except my connection was so slow that the page would either not load, or the test failed to complete and resulted in a time out error! The couple that did manage to get through showed that I had around 0.2Meg download speed, verses the 7Meg I have had with other suppliers - I live in a rural area.

Fortunately, as I had demonstrated that I had already attempted to improve the speed by doing various simple tasks already - wired rather than wifi, cleared cache, changed browser, etc - they have agreed to let me leave without penalty after only the one complaint to them. Although, since then, I have had a letter saying that an early cancellation fee of over £250 may be levied now that my new provider has been in touch, and that I need to get in contact with them to sort that out, which is tiresome to say the least. Scaremongering mass mailing like this shouldn't be allowed as I'm sure it will only frighten some people into staying with a crap service, or having to spend ages with their Customer Service on the phone trying to get to the bottom of it all again.

Broadband often slow, especially weekends. Had issues last mont with exceptionally slow or no broadband at all for two weeks, contacted PO they said problem was our end, wires etc? Eventually they decided it may be the router, which it was - sent us one after two weeks then charged us for it! Sometimes when checking phone bill I notice calls which I don't think I have made, mostly mobiles which I will only use my mobile to call on, but can't prove it so have to pay for these calls.

I transferred to the Post Office because they promised me 7-8 mb speed broadband. I'm lucky if I get 0.8 and it has been 621 KBits/s (77.625 KBytes/s). If I go on and do an estimated speed with them even now they will quote that speed. The Post Office asked me to carry out a speed checker to assist them which did religiously for 2 weeks with no response from them. When I called they had no trace of it and basically said they couldn't help me and I would have to transfer elsewhere. Why promise something you can't provide. Worst broadband I've ever had and poor service too! Don't even bother to go there. I have wasted money on on-line courses I can't do and have had to cancel Now TV because the speed is too low to watch it.

Goes down 30+ times a day. Customer service failed to reply to complaint. Telephoned them and got a recorded message they are experiencing high calls, call back, then the call cuts off. The product is sub standard, the customer service non existence. I will never endorse anything the post offers offers again. They really do not give a damp.

DO NOT GO TO PO broadband. Like all other reviewers I have learnt lesson hard way and wish I had read reviews first!! BB speeds download 0.5 upload 0.3mb With Plusnet and BT Hub I could download TV catchup and watch whilst downloading within a few minutes. Downloading via PO takes overnight for one hour program SD. However looking at other reviewers I appear to be fortunate I can do this. Had BB since January and tied in to 18 month contract. Unable to use smart TV or stream from internet. Took about an hour this morning to watch 2 minute video for work pension purposes as kept buffering. Paid phone line 12 months advance. Customer services tells you to check your own internet speeds. Thought that was their job. I agree they are reading from script. Too complicated for me and I imagine it would be then be I would have to pay for engineer etc. I will try a better router as PO one cheap and nasty. I actually used BT hub router for plusnet plusnet operator talked me through setting it up as delay receiving it. Wish I'd kept it! Don't say I didn't warn you......

After 4 months of complaining about the speed no joy, my neighbours all get 20mbs and I get 5mbs, on my last call they said they probably pay more!! So the speed according to the PO is based on what you pay not location. Trust me use another provider that has a customer service that is worth a call.

NEVER EVER GO NEAR THE POST OFFICE FOR YOUR TELECOMS.

I recently decided to change my internet & phone provider from The Post Office.
Primarily this was because on several occasions I had tried to contact them with regard to switching to an advertised better deal than the one I had been supplied. At one point even going into a Post Office to see if they could contact the appropriate office. No luck there either.

My new provider contacted the Post Office as a matter of course when 'switching'.

Which was why I was surprised when some time later I received an invoice from the Post Office, but for amounts in the future.

I telephoned them and Lo & Behold I actually got to speak to a human. I explained the situation, and was assured I would receive an updated invoice - which duly arrived with a 'pay by' date on it.

Why was I leaving I was asked – because your customer service is non existent, I replied, and was never offered a better deal even though I class myself as a loyal customer - No response to that.

I therefore arranged via internet banking to pay on the date they required, and it was duly paid on that date according to my internet statement.

Some days later I received a text from a company using 3 letters as a logo? I had never heard of, requesting I contact them urgently about a financial matter. Another scam I thought. I received several more 'urgent' requests over a period of days, so decided to 'play' and see what it was about, only to be told (I paraphrase here) the information required was of a delicate nature about a close friend – who? I inquired – 'we aren't allowed to release that information' – then I'm not going to speak to you, I reply!

A couple of days later I receive a snotty threatening debt collectors letter about proceedings that will ensue if I don't pay the outstanding debt (bearing in mind I have paid monthly on the dot for the last 6 years, I thought this was a bit rich).

I telephoned them, only to be told the debt was cleared. I know I said so why are you sending snotty letters dated after the payment date? It's paid now so it doesn't matter, says the operative.

All this because the Post Office are too incompetent/stupid/lazy/inept to liaise with anyone, let alone their debt collectors – what a bunch of unmitigated cretins – JUST NEVER GO THERE FOR YOUR TELECOMS.YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

It’s never the Post Office’s fault, is it ?
A few months ago my Post Office broadband service was up and down like a yo-yo. Customer Service (LOL) blamed the phone connection, my router, my wireless software, the position of my computer, the thickness of the walls, you name it. In the end it turned out to be a nationwide problem with BT servers, and was featured on the TV news. Fat lot the Post Office staff knew.
Having improved after the BT failure, the service is now dropping out on almost a daily basis for short periods, every time it rains heavily – and it’s being doing a lot of that lately. When I first reported it, the filters were blamed and I was talked into buying two new ones. I changed them – no improvement. When things got better for a short time, I put the old filters back and the service was fine – I’ve kept them in. Then I began to get static on the home phone service as well. After a month or so that disappeared, but the drop-outs continue in wet weather. If I had to rely on PO broadband, I would have abandoned it long ago.

    Lets be frank here...

My wife signed up for Post Office Broadband and Home Phone, and was quoted £21 a month by the sales rep in the town center.

Sounds like a great deal BUT they did NOT tell her that this DI NOT INCLUDE LINE RENTAL - Which pushes the real cost up to £50 a month...

Fortunately, There is action being taken on this and soon all Home Phone and Broadband providers will have to display costs WITH LINE RENTAL!!!!

Then there is connection, The Supplied modem is AWFUL! It has frequent issues and needs to be hard rebooted on a regular basis.

The connection is at best slow, and not the speed promised - So again, False Advertising!

Then having a slight income issue, Her bill was just £27 behind - She had a letter about it but had missed phone calls due to being out at work - On receiving the letter, she raked together the extra £30 - Payed at the Post Office assured by the staff that paying in cash would mean her payment would be registered straight away...

But with her Broadband and home phone being cut off - She called them and was told this was incorrect and that this would have been quicker has she paid by debit card.

I have worked in a call center so again I know that this is total BS!They just have a record on their computers that a payment is pending - It takes 3-5 working days to receive that payment.

From Dodgy Equipment, to false sales and seriously poor customer service - THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE SHUNNED!

I switched to the landland and broadband package a little over a month ago. The landline deals are great as they offer international calls so its convienant to talk to my family back home. However the broadband is pathetic. I have never had such a slow connection, very sporatic and alot of the times it doesnt connect at all an so i have to turn off the box and rebute it. Its impossible to use my computer outside of the room in which the broadbad box is. I read the reviews and wasnt expecting a 4 star service but even a 1 star service would be welcome. I see now why the price is so competitive because of the disappointing reliablility of it is disgraceful. Lets hope it improves or i see them losing alot of customers.

Signed up for Broadband, engineer was supposed to come and connect the line on the 27th, phoned them when he was a no show, got my router in the post then they called back claiming the appointment had not gone through. So now they want another £6 delivery for a new router even thought i have a brand new one in the box and i now have to wait another 2 weeks for an engineer to come out.
Should have listened to the reviews and went with someone else.

They failed to live up to their extravagant claims about their broadband service, which was non-existent. It would take us 1/2 an hour to get on to our bank account then it lost the signal part way through the transaction. Trying to get on to any websites , say to look at holidays, was impossible. They claim download speeds of about 14mbps which is simply not true. On the tests they did on our behalf, after I complained, the speed was less than 0.5 MBPS. So they agreed to cancel the contact.

Had PO broadband for several months with no problems, running 2 NOW TV boxes in different parts of the house, suddenly had problem with wi-fi signal getting progressively weaker over a couple of days until I could only get it on my phone in the room with the router. Tried to explain this to customer service, asking for a new router. Spent 20 mins speaking to someone who was unable to understand this, told me I needed wi-fi repeaters....at one point she asked "how thick are your walls?" ...resisted replying "not as thick as you" and demanded to speak to a manager. Result, was sent new modem, problem solved. Told manager if I wanted this level of customer service I would go back to Talk Talk !!

Absolutely appalling. I very often can even load a speed test. Far far worse than dial-up. It's not just our location (rural) because with Eclipse, we had no problem. So it is PO or BT or the both of them. We are so angry about it, I'd better stop to control my language.

The problems started when trying to buy the broadband package on the website, which had a technical problem. The next issue was difficulty in trying to speak to an advisor as the automated system wanted a land line number (we don't have one). We eventually got through to an advisor and we were then given a date and time for an engineer to visit our address. Two weeks later and the engineer failed to appear. Another call to the PO resulted in an assurance that an engineer would visit shortly. Yet another two weeks have passed and no engineer has appeared or any communication from the PO. Needless to say we have cancelled our order. Truly terrible service and it is amazing the PO is still in business if this is what the average potential customer experiences. Not happy.

Avoid. The worst broadband service ever. You may save a few pounds but what's the point if your broadband speed is the slowest. I'm giving zero for everything.

Extremely poor - previously 6-8 Mb with BT ADSL - same speed at 3am with Post Office but 'fair use' policy means struggles to reach 1 Mb and fairly unusable in evenings and weekends. Not recommended at all!!

It is not possible to communicate with these people. The have a customer help line!!! Hahah! No help, no accurate record of what is said, no possibility of speaking to someone who might understand why you are Nnoyed they have had a debt collection agency send you an email about an account for £15 they told you not to pay because your final account was being prepared. They don't listen. I would never use them again. From the appallingly low broadband speed to the four copies of every letter they sent coming through the post to the numerous phone calls. It is like banging your head against a wall. What makes it worse is they have been trained to say " is there anything else I can help you with today?" Hahah if it wasn't so bad it would be funny. Buy your service from somewhere else, whatever they give you free it just isn't worth it.

Can only speak from personal experience. I had a problem with broadband dropping off at various times rang post office and to be it took a few weeks to sort out but they were helpful and courteous did everything to sort out had engineers attend the property but couldn't find anything wrong. Eventually they put the line on 24 hour watch and did discover dropouts on the line. Post office were great at ringing me to keep me up to date so no need for me to keep ringing them, post office did all the leg work to correct the fault which eventually turned out to be a fault on the line from the green box to the exchange which bt corrected and now have a nice clear broadband. So to sum up it does take time as post office have to deal with bt and talktalk but it did get sorted, eventually.

sent me a bill including missed appointment charge which was incorrect, they had full access but failed to keep appointments themselves. Wrote to them in March giving chapter and verse, they ignored my letter and sent me a threatening reminder. Sent a copy of my March letter by recorded delivery, they ignored that and cut the line off. Took an age to get through to customer support who were completely useless. Didn't have any record of my letters and just wanted me to settle the outstanding bill. Do not go anywhere near this shower, avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs. Total mess up Placed an order and we were given date and waited 2 weeks for engineer and on the day no one turned up Had to phone to find out why he hadn't turned up Supervisor told me that the problem was sorted and promised we would be on line within a week. Should have been connected yesterday I have spent over 2 hours on the phone to try to get this sorted and although l had been assured by Supervisor that he would sort the problem out we have been told that l would have to start another order and have to wait nearly 3 weeks We have had 3 routers delivered

Went to the post office for two postage stamps after waiting in line for about tem minutes I walked to the clerk . I was informed by the clerk that she did have change for a $5 bill and told me to go to the next clerk. I walked out after getting back in line and waiting for another 15 minutes with only two clerks at the windows and about 12 people waiting to be serviced. This post office really need to hire more people and get their workers to work more efficiently. The clerks really need to improve their customer service etiquette because without the customers you would not be working at the post office. The waiting in this post office is extreme.
