I've been with post office for over a year now & didn't have any problems until now. Just over 3 weeks ago my phone line was crackly & broadband kept dropping so o called po & after 4 days of talking to them on phone I replaced all cables filters etc they even sent me a new router & suggested I go to my local hardware shop & purchase a bt socket face plate which I refused to do, after 6 days I got the 1st engineer visit he replaced the bt socket & reported a fault in the exchange box outside. 3 days after that I got a second engineer who fixed fault outside & my phone & broadband worked for 2 days I replaced my house phone with a brand new one & didn't make any difference. If I plug in my landline my internet goes off until I unplug my phone then it comes back on after about 20 minutes still waiting to get this fixed will be phoning at 9am I paid a full months phone & broadband bill for 6 days of internet, my contract is almost up so going to check out other company's although I think bt is my best bet

I joined 10th Oct (this week) & have nothing but trouble. The first password sent to me by mail was not accepted when I tried to sign in. I phoned for help but an auto voice stated all lines were busy and told me to call back later, which I did a further 3 times that day but could not get to an advisor. the next day I did talk to an advisor who provided me with a new password but again this was not accepted when I entered it as did the next new password that was provided, so the person who was dealing with this problem said a new password would be sent to me within 5 days.
Now for the big laugh 3 letters arrived, same post from PO, the first 2 each contained a password, but they were different from each other, the final letter contained a plastic card enabling me to pay my monthly account at any PO counter, and to make matters worse the customer ref number was not mine. I tried to log on just now and a message came up that there was a problem with the site and try later No way can I recommend this outfit.

I only went live yesterday and my daughter said the speed, or lack of it, is awful and unacceptable. My Netflix won't work nor fire stick and just been on phone to Lucy, customer service, with Post Office based in Selkirk. Nice girl but not technical. I'm about to email and cancel contract and contact Ofcom as I would encourage everyone to do.

I'm very pleased with the Post Office Broadband service.

We're getting speeds of up to 5.5mb which is about the same as the Talk Talk service we previously used. This is the fastest we can get in our area and is fine for things like YouTube.

The connection is reliable and the service is also a lot cheaper than the Talk Talk subscription we previously had.

I had to leave PObroadband because of .5 Mbps speed!
but, IT WAS NOT THE FAULT OF POBROADBAND but BT who give out lines to their competitors, with too many subscribers on, therefore slowing down the speed.
BT this means BT have an unfair advantage and practise unfair market competition
    PO broadband did their best

I asked for the line rental saver on initial sign up to a homephone and broadband deal, however when I looked at the bill I didn't get what I had asked for.

I then contacted customer service who said that they would listen to the call and what they said was I had never asked for line rental saver. This is a total lie since I always ask to pay line rental up front for the duration of the package or at least for the year.

What did they do? Was the end of the call deleted. Some customer service that is. you can be sure I am not going back after this contact is over.

Under no circumstances consider the Post Office as your bro and provider.
I have complained several times regarding the download speed which I am receiving. It varies fro just over 6 Megabits during the night and early morning, to less than 1 Megabit at peak times !
I am unable to stream movies, watch catch up to etc.
I have given them 7 days to sort out or my contract will be cancelled.

I must tell you they are terrible, emailed them to cancel was told had to call to cancel so I did. Explained I would no longer be at this address after my service ends so would need my final bill before I move. Told by the post office this is not possible at the bill will be sent to my old address. How stupid is that if you want to be paid send the bill to me before this property is empty told they wont. Simple answer to you post office no bill before I leave then you get no final payment as simple as that. Also customer service when you try to cancel oh my god they are so rude because you want to cancel took me ages on the phone to get them to cancel. I will never use again ever.

Absolutely shambolic. Contacted PO on 9 September, agreed you service would go live 15/09, fabulous. But it didn't happen. PO took the line from my current supplier but failed to connect it. So no landline and no broadband since 15/09. 5 phone calls to PO from my mobile which I get charged for and they just kept apologising and promising to sort it out, eventually I emailed them and cancelled the order. Today they called my mobile and left me a voicemail saying they had been calling my landline - What landline???? I haven't got a working landline because they haven't connected it!!! 47 mins on the phone today from my mobile and finally cancelled the service. I'm still without a landline and broadband and this has been the most disgraceful, incompetent, frustrating experience ever. No wonder PO is a dying entity

I had the worst ever experience ever with the post office telling me I had service when I didn't, even when they get me to do a speed check and it doesn't work due to no internet. I was glad when the contract was over a few years ago. Unfortunately my wife has the memory of a goldfish and a couple of years later signed up again. Hell all over again. Now that the she has cancelled due to he contract being up we were told they would keep our number. Other providers have confirmed this. They have also slowed us right down - hence the review. You don't need this, nobody does.

    poor in every respect.
Non-existent customer service, broadband isn't reliable, they take hundreds of pounds out of your account without telling you OR GIVING IT BACK. Will be in touch with the ombudsman over this.
Stay away from the Post Office at all costs.

Signed up to P.O Broadband mid July 2016.....then.....it began.

    How the ratings should read:

Customer Service - Shocking and Rude.
Broadband Speed - Good at night.
    Broadband Reliability - Perfect.
    Overall - Infuriating!!!

How can it be possible to mess up a good broadband service......with inefficient customer service agents!
    BRAVO *claps*

Initial contract - 18 months @ £23 with FREE evening calls.

    Contract I'm on - 18 months @ £18 all calls charged!

Now, I have the initial contract in front of me. Quite clearly states what package I'm paying for. However, when I received my first bill it was £53!
So, as anyone else would do; I called.

    Run, run for the hills!!!!

Time on call - 1 hour, 52 minutes
    Agents spoke to - 9
    Query understood by - 3
Agents with fluent English - 3
    Resolved - NO

Not one single person could solve the issue. I didn't want a refund (even though I'm entitled to it), I wanted to ensure the package was changed to the correct price plan. That's it!

Noone could resolve it for me, so I just didn't pay the bill. Now, I have no option but to pay the bill (in full) to restore my service and not adverse my credit file.

So, I paid the £53 bill on Tuesday 13th September. I was told on the phone it would take 24 - 72 hours to restore the service!!!

48 hours later as I type this review. Yes, I'm tethering to my own phone......to review my current broadband supplier!!!

    DO NOT USE!

    P.S Thanks for reading

seriously. DON'T DO IT! Broadband speed is appalling. Customer service is apalling. They are also dishonest. The router is awful. No point spending any money on this ISP. Better to spend a little more and at least you get something for your money. (Zero stars doesn't seem to be an option)

Possibly the worst experience I've had with a company in my whole life. On signing up with the post office I was told that I would have to pay three months up front as they weren't able to preform a credit check. They then gave me a "go live" date, in which a technician would come to fit my internet which would take two weeks. The technician was cancelled as I already had all the fittings I would need to "go live". On the day I was purpose to "go live" my internet never worked, so I called the post office the explain that it might only connect at 12 that night. So I left it on for a extra day before contacting them again to explain it wasn't working. The first girl I spoke to didn't have a clue what she was talking about and said it wasn't there problem and I would need to right my landlord. After ring my landlord and them telling me it's not there problem I contacted them again. The man was increadly rude, and told me they would charge me to have a technician sent out. Which they had cancled because apparently I didn't need one. In the end I had call them 11 times that day and I still had no internet. I called them the next day and spoke to a lady who was lovely and manged to sort it all out and said that some one would be I contacts to arrange a technician to come out free of charge. In the end I missed the call and received a voice mail which asked me to call them again to arrange an oppointment. I've have just called them and they woman so sooo rude, saying they have already arranged an time, I asked her about getting my go live date changed as I didn't want to pay for a service that I haven't had for over a week. She told me that the Internet is free so no you can't. I then explained that although the Internet is free I'm paying for the line rental so it's not intirely free. She then replied with well I that case we will refunded it when it comes to your next bill, which I've paid three months in advance. I would in no way shape or form recommend the post office as an internet provider. There service and customer service is so shocking its unreal. Even if it is the cheapest deal at the time, you might as well pay a bit extra to deal with company who actually knows what they are doing.

Used the home move service for home phone and wished to add broadband at same time. Was then told incorrectly could not add this until 15 days had passed from 'going live' with the home phone. Very inconvenient for us as use internet used for lots of things that are very important. Made numerous calls to customer service staff who kept saying there was an internal error on the line whatever that meant. In the end last Sat the router arrived and guess what - it does not work, furious with the PO as was assured we could get broadband here, and we have been credited with an insufficient amount considering the stress this has caused. We have decided to go with another Provider on the advice of a PO team member who told us that the PO was not reliable or up to date with their equipment! Have been trying to ring them just now to get an address to complain but I just get 'cut off', cant wait to get rid of them their home phone was fine but they are now mixed in with Talk Talk and that just says it all. Avoid Post Office apart from buying stamps!

Until very recently I had been a subscriber to P.O. broadband but living in a quite remote area the speed and reliability were never that good. Halleluja!! we now have fibre optic and I have hooked up with Sky for my telly broadband and phone - went live on 5th August. I had still retained my email address with the Post Office and all was well until a couple of days ago when out of the blue and without as much as a by your leave I have been prevented from accessing my emails. I have subsequently changed my email address to sky but am frustrated because I have lost all the details of my address book and contacts. So it's a "thanks a bunch" to the PO cause that's what you get for several years of service.

I dnt have words and the ones I have are not suitable for this forum. I applied for post office braodband connection on the 2nd of August and was told that someone from post office would be coming and my connection would be running in no time. I received an sms on the 15th telling me the name and contact number of enginer. waited till 16:00 and called helpline and was informed that the engineer did vsit my place and no one was home and the description given by engineer was no way near my place. anyways i was told someone else is going to visit me the same day and yes the next appointed engineer did turn up but we have a problem again. the pole from where the connection was to be taken was not tested by BT for safety so he couldnt climb it. Was told that some BT guy will come to sort it out. It took them another 2 days to come and when the line was connected no broadband service... I contacted postoffice helpline again and was told that a technical member of the team will visit me on the 24th of August to solve this problem. when I contacted helpline i was told that an engineer is scheduled to visit me on the 25th. now this morning i received another call from helpline saying that the engineer is scheduled for 13 of september. I asked then why was i given a date of 25th and there was no answer. so thought of availing this opportunity and requested that my connection request may please be cancelled and money refunded and Thank you very much for wasting my time. If installation process of this company is so poor, how bad would the service be??? Totally disappointed. I hope their refund policy is not as bad as their connection service because am going to take them to court for this even if i have to spend more than what i get back.

I'm only writing this review because there are so many poor reviews. I'd normally only bother to write a review if I had a problem (and it wouldn't be very complimentary!).

The Post Office provides me with a very reliable, reasonably quick service for not a lot of money. I'm with them on price only, there are no frills, the router is basic, I've no idea if I have web space included and I don't use a service provider email address for myself. Oh, and the website is really basic too - but I'd rather have it this way rather than be faced with flashing X-Factor adverts and the like!

The speed is exactly the same as it was on Talk Talk (which became expensive) - not a surprise really, the Post Office uses the Talk Talk equipment in the exchange.

All in all a reasonably satisfied customer - just don't put the prices up - or start charging me for not paying by direct debit. Please!

Shocking. Rural area customer who regularly received 7mb with BT. I only receive that in the middle of the night with the Post Office, with evening speeds of less than 1mb.

Advised that they did not have the necessary equipment in the exchange to cope with demand, so I am able to leave my contract.

I found out after I ordered that a few other people on my street had ordered and cancelled due to poor speeds, so my biggest gripe is that they happily accepted my order, knowing they could not provide a service.

The speeds were slow (300ms to London servers).

The second we started any kind of real usage such as downloads or streaming video we had instant packet loss & pings upto a few seconds.

On phoning post office about this they insisted the problem was likely with our internal wiring, had us switch to the master socket 'to test it' and then the connection got better.

Interestingly this happened even if the connection was already on the master socket when we phoned them!

On attempting to transfer away from them we were told there would be an exit fee until we challenged them on having changed our call charges.

After that they then told us we had canceled our transfer, which we had not. On phoning them they told us to talk to the new ISP as their system had no record of them initiating the cancellation.

The new ISP said they had received no cancellation, when confronted with this the post office admitted the cancellation was entirely inside their own system.

    DO NOT USE THIS ISP.

Try using their Home Move service. I gave then 6 weeks notice. I then needed to change the engineer appointment and tried to contact them over 10 days ago. Despite repeated attempts I could not get through. I then sent them an email which was duly ignored
I finally got through today and they cannot send out an engineer till the 5th Sept. This is the day I start work in my new job - hopeless.
At the beginning of this year I was cut off for 3 weeks, a BT engineer had pulled my wire out of the exchange box. I have still have not had a refund.

Awful service.... I went away for a month forgot about the £16 bill... all my information was passed on to a debt collection agency (totalled £32)
So now I have constant cold callers and random ppi companies telephoning me.

    THIS COMPANY IS A FARCE!
DO NOT BOTHER WASTING YOUR TIME/EFFORT.

Massively unsatisfactory service all around, from the customer service 'help' to the utterly diabolical connection.

I would much prefer old school dail up... I could sit through hours of the dail up tones if it meant I would never again have to deal with 'The post office'

Connection is never done dropping out and most of the times when it comes back on I get 0.8 download speeds compared to the 5-6 I was promised.... Now changing to plusnet would advise anyone to stay well away from post office broadband.

What a complete waste of time, the Broadband is worse than the old dial up, the WiFi can only be accessed 10'0" from the router then disconnects, absolute RUBBISH. Now have to pay full cost amount to get out of contract, what I did was order P.O. broadband on the 12th July to have installed on the 28th, after connecting and after 2 days I rang to have it disconnected but, here is the best bit, I had 14 days to cancel, but from the day I put the order in etc, therefore I could not get out of the contract as the 14 days only took it to the 26th before I even had it installed, my argument with them was, HOW would I know it was not fit for the purpose until it had been connected etc.

Yet another unsatisfied customer with poor speeds and dropped connection throughout the day, customer services are not much help keep changing router settings and say monitor for a few days if no improvement contact us again (and wait in a queue usually for 15+ minutes) Lesson learnt, free broadband means crap speeds and connectivity

Customer service okay. Router signal weak and really flaky. Connection speed utterly abysmal, verging on unusable. Worst broadband performance I’ve ever had. Service from previous providers has been fine at same address. Couldn’t wait to leave and left at first opportunity. Won’t be going back.
