I had a full package of Sky with broadband and TV including sports and family. As I didn't have a good experience through out the year so as my contract was finishing I called them to cancel my subscription when my contract finishes but they said its 35 days to my completion of contract and I have to call them within a month. I said ok and called them after 2 weeks and now they say that I must be having Sky for another 31 days as they need a 31 days notice for cancellation. I said I am moving to a new place would Sky be able to install this system for the next 31 days for me at my new place and they said no because I have just asked for cancellation. I wonder why am I paying this extra 31 days bill when I won't be able to watch Sky or use its internet. I'll pay the 31 days rent now for nothing just because I didn't call them exactly one month before the finish of my contract. Giving customers such a narrow window to call on a particular day is a way of robbing them.

Their idea of broadband is two underpaid pensioners sitting in the basement and pulling cables to tell the other pensioner at the telephone exchange to phone up China Post and request a packet via carrier pigeon. And when you phone to complain about the rather terrible speed of 1Megabytes/s (typically at 950Kilobytes/s) with an upload max 60kilobytes/s which if maxed out at peak times typically kills the connection, horrible ping at peak times (>150ms) with >30% packet loss, horrible hardware (and software) that has been designed by a nursery child or the fact that you internet has dropping consistently throughout the day you not only have to pay but also put up with the most mundane check list diagnosis that you've tried many times but also the lack of any fix.

Even better there is no fibre optic , atleast in this block until BT or Virgin get their bottoms in gear, (although BT says that they're 'rolling out' a couple meters of cable for a while now; about 6 months) I'm sure I'll never get the Sky package as if there is anything to be gained from this 'experience' is that their 'fibre optic' plan is shining two key chain lights down a gutter.

Had issues for over a year, where the router will stop devices connecting to it, or "Connected, no internet" message will appear, Sky refuse to send an engineer to look at it, as it is apparently working fine on their end, and apparently the router internally is working fine. Diagnostics and a reset typically works and fixes the issue, however the issue is back after a few days.

Sky have tried fobbing it off as an issue with a device in the house, yet every device when it works can connect fine, and we have tried connecting each device to see which is the issue, and none are the issue.

The router being used is the one sky provided when we joined around 10 years ago, they refuse to replace it, even under the insurance policy we hold with them.

I have been with Sky over 2 years and having constant problems with slow speed or dropping out entirely, each time I call customer service who are helpful and try to sort out the problems, including a few visit from engineer. This time, they said I need to replace a router and it's out of warranty so I have to pay £38.95 to replace it. Why do I have to pay for the faulty router? I'm now cancelling the contract with them. I'm left with no internet, going through a cancellation process with Sky and finding a new provider. I should've cancelled it 2 years ago! Really disappointed with Sky!!

I think Sky are operationally incompetent, - they told me a porky which meant I had to cancel the order; then they 'forgot' to refund my deposit. But the woman I spoke to to get a refund was pleasant and helpful.

Worst ever by far. Cuts out throughout the day and night and constant speeds of less than 0.1 MB.

Called them to resolve and advised me to cancel as nothing they could do about speeds.

AVOID at all costs. You'd be better off using your mobile hotspot.

All icwanted was a quick switch from By to Sky , I was connected after 10 days, very inconvenient, stressful, engineer came out .... I only wanted/needed unlimited sky broadband, as it would/should have been £57.50 a month but I now pay £70-81. With fibre unlimited, t.Only myself uses it so no need for this, am very dissatisfied with how they have treated myself. I have tested the speed a couple of times and its not fast as my By broadband

Although the customer service is good, service itself is terrible. Broadband is very slow and keeps dropping.
Engineers didn't manage to fix the issue.
Will never ever choose sky as a broadband provider.

    Broadband is terrible
Continually drops out. Had to buy a booster to get a decent signal in the room next to where the router is situated
Supposed to get 60+ mb, but never get anywhere near that
Fortunately they have just announced another price increase, which has enabled me to cancel without any exit fees

Horrible experience since renewing my contract with sky! Constantly pressing the RESET button to get a short period of wifi connection. To then be told I have got to wait another week for an engineer to get round and have a look for me to see what the problem is after numerous times of speaking to customer services and taking the bl%%dy face plate off!
Safe to say I reminded sky about there breech of contract as it would be 50 something days with out no/ very little internet connection. To then be told they can refund me £7.50 for the inconvenience, safe to say I have cancelled early and will never use this so called FAST broadband provider again.

Speed is always below 1Meg, customer service do not want to know, they say something has changed in the house, this is total rubbish, the speed has dropped over the last couple of years by nearly 1Meg to the point where is is becoming unusable, to download a movie it takes nearly 18 hrs, in this day and age it is total rubbish and i would not recommend.

Sky used to be brilliant for broadband but they have gone downhill drastically. After being a valued customer for over 3 years I have finally bitten the bullet and left. For the past 12months my broadband connection was very limited and would stop working completely for a week at a time every month! When I would ring up for help I would be told I had to pay £65 upfront for an engineer visit,I would refuse and miraculously my internet would start working again the next day!Speed would be slow when it was working and it would be very unreliable. Please stay away from Sky for broadband as you will only regret it.

I thought nothing could get worth than my University internet, but now that I'm at my parents new place and they using Sky I am just shocked. I have never used an internet service so pathetic before. The package claims 17mbs, but it has never gone above 250kbps... that's 1/68th of the speed they advertise. To add insult injury the broadband cuts out at least 4 times a day, and at least 4 more times a night. I thought the internet in America was poor and owned by corrupt companies, but Sky makes Comcast look like progressive angels.

Really terrible. I have had several times without internet in addition to very slow download speed in the best of times. The recent one the inernet down again I was told that it has to be looked at by a sky engineer first - appointment 11 days away. As a key worker, a teacher who must use internet to teach, this is really the last straw. Although the staff at reception was sympathetic, their manager did not appear to care. Even I'm not under any contract, they still charge me for 14 days cancellation notice without any internet! Avoid at all costs!

Have had outages, but generally service is available. The speed can't be relied upon. Also there latest devices won't cover every corner of your house in terms of WIFI coverage.
Customer support is horrible and it reflects how poorly they consider this part of their service.
Their contract terms go by each package and its a web that you can't expect a normal person [not a lawyer] to understand fully.
They design their contracts to keep you in their legal web.

They offer less price and will increase the price within 3 months and you are stuck with the contract for 18 months if you don't complain about it within a month.

I wanted to add a single channel package and after adding the chat rep says oh this changes your over all bill because you can't have the discount package on another package that you used to have because of this addition.
after removing the single package when i ask them to reinstate the old offer they say oh we might not be able to do that. Can I add another discount package with its own 18 months contract. Can you believe this.

I hope there are better alternatives out there, because I am waiting for my contract to be over.

I am finally coming to end of the most horrendous 18 month experience I have ever had with a company.
The broadband speed an unreliability is absolutely awful. I have mad over 30 calls to sky (almost twice a month on average) and while the customer support is pleasant, the product itself is useless so customer support cant actually help. On top of the 30 calls, i have chatted, used twitter, sent emails and never got anywhere.
Unless you know 100% you have fibre to your premise do not get sky broadband... i have had days and days with out broadband at anyone time and the compensation i received was £2.65 - absolute joke and calling them tomorrow to finally cancel this awful contract is going to be amazing....

We have been sky customers for nearly five years and in the last couple of months our broadband kept playing up - we quite reasonably asked to change our router as it is also nearly five years old - we have been ignored and kept been told that we should change the channel and the router would not be the issue ( without actually checking it ) the only other option we were given was to change to the more expensive fiber optic, which we did not want... We are actually changing to a new supplier and as a
Leaving present we were presented with an early cancellation fee - after nearly five years - because they increased their prices last June and as we did not cancel then this was seen as a renewal of our contract and this is how they justified the charges .... After resetting our router 3 times a night to have some sort of connection we are not sad to leave

So... after 15 days of no internet, 13 hours on the phone to either sky or the engineers, 1.5 days holiday taken and £28 of extra data bundles used... they offer me £4.55 in 'compension' and a £15 M&S voucher out of 'goodwill'. ARE YOU JOKING?! I find that insulting. Just the time I have taken off work has cost me £107.49. 13 hours on the phone (most of the time when I am at work) so lets say my hourly rate is £8.95- so thats £116.35 worth of my time that they have wasted. THEY HAVE WASTED £251.84 OF MY WORKING TIME IN THE LAST 15 DAYS, and then insult me by offering that pathetic amount of 'compensation'.

After 3 years a couple of weeks ago I decided to cancel my account. Broadband speed had been always a problem and prices for TV packages are normally expensive if you want to get a few worthwhile channels. But the worst thing ever is the costumer service; while being a costumer they treat you as everything is fine, there’s a solution for every need. Today I called them and the lady shouted at me and interrupted me few times. Her answers completely changed. A couple of timed she said things like you have to...
Even worst is their treatment to the environment; I said I want to send back the equipment and they said it is mine and so it’s my problem now...do they never heard the expression from cradle to grave? At the end of the day,I’m still don’t know what to do...A really shame!

Had been with o2 home broadband which was a dream. Perfect connection, had the full 7.5Mbps speed, not a single problem whatsoever. And then o2 decided they want to focus more on the telephone sector so they decided to sell their broadband firm to sky; biggest mistake o2 has ever made. Since the move i had to renew my contract which was the same price as o2 so didn't complain about that. So the new router came set it up, during the first week everything went fine then all of a sudden there were sudden internet cuts, broadband speeds barely touched 4Mbps. It turned into a nightmare. Customer service was awful too, their staff show no experience or proper training whatsoever.
O2 please buy back your broadband service, what were you thinking selling it to sky?

Quite possibly the worst broadband provider in the uk. Slow speeds, unreliable connection and the cancellation process is a joke. Everyone knows that any cancellation must be in writing; with Sky you have to write to them and then PHONE them afterwards to cancel.
    Stay well away!

Unfortunately i have to agree with anyone who wrote a review before me. The experience with sky broadband is miserable. They really worth an oscar for such a bad service. A snail is faster than my so called optic fibre but the worst thing is that the internet drops like 20 times per day. Funny enough sky recommended to me by a friend.personally i would strongly advice everyone i know to choose an other provider.

Been with sky for over 20 years been a loyal customer never missed any payments on any months for the whole 20years.
2 years ago BT informed me that fiber broadband was open to my home. I contacted sky and taken out the fastest broadband and a new TV service with them to revive nothing but trouble with the broadband dropping out and not working, having to rest all the broadband up to 3 times a day some days. I contacted sky and they refused to give me a new router and my mum herself had to pay for a new box out of her own money Evan though we was still in the 18 month contact (2 months in). The contract is up for a renewal and we have cancelled the TV services due to no used to pay for it. We paid 75 pounds per month for broadband and TV. We then got quoted 45 pound for broadband services alone, I find this unfair and not loyal to a customer that was been with for over 20 years. Other customer I know had the brand new sky Q 4 boxes, full tv packages, and fiber broadband all for 80 pounds per month. Sky's have no loyalt to their existing customer what so ever. The customer services is very poor and the manger I spoke to called Donna is the rudest person to speak to and wouldn't advise anyone to talk to her. Sky is terrible and their service and customer services I've very poor aswell!! Stay away people... my policy is now cancelled and won't be going back to them. Moving provides. Hope no one else experiencing this.

Ordered Sky Broadband for a Property I purchased. 3-4 days later I get an automatic text message and email stating that "I need to call them to discuss an issue with my order". Once I called and finally got through the horrible automated system that didn't want to transfer me as i'm "not at risk". One of their advisers told me that my order was not successful and I'd need to do it again and they couldn't switch it on on the date I was promised.

As I, like many others during this time, WFH this was extremely upsetting, inconvenient and meant that all my plans to move in have now been postponed.

No way to escalate to get it enabled quicker, just an overly apologetic customer service agent.

So logged a complaint, cancelled the order/service and gone elsewhere instead, they have lost me as a customer for good.

Holy fish ultimately slow and unstable internet connection. In terms of the frequency the connection would be disconnected once per half an hour, fluctuate speed once per 10 seconds.

Barely cannot even watch Youtube. And, in addition, unbelievably human movement would interrupt Wifi connection
