Do not go with this company. Above all else, the customer service is atrocious.
I phoned to find out when my contract was due to end and was told 17th March, but after that date it would continue on a month by month basis and I may be charged if I move house!!
What a cheek, when I have only signed up for a 12 month contract.

I was then transferred to another 'team' - sounded like a group of people chatting to each other loudly in a shack somewhere.
The advisor couldn't understand a single thing I said and just kept going silent - she didn't seem to have even a basic grasp of English.

This is not a company who have any morals whatsoever when it comes to the treatment of staff or their customers, clearly.

I would certainly not sign up with them again.

After 9 months of torture we are leaving Talk Talk. Do NOT sign up with them. Internet literally never worked the whole time. Phone didn't work for the first few months. They kept trying to charge us for things and then I would spend hours on the phone taking care of it. They say they will call back and don't. Do yourself a favour and sign up with anyone else!!

Cannot even rate this company, sadly have been with them for years! When i went with Talk Talk it was for broadband and telephone line, when fitted it tuyrned out that i cannot use my phone at the same time as my broadband due to terrible interference. I contacted Talk Talk only within a couple of days only to be told its not the broadband but my telephone line and that i would need to call an engineer out which would cost me!! Funny that everything was okay prior to having Talk Talk!! Also trying to get through to them was a complete nightmare. I cannot use the two together which i actually pay for. STAY AWAY from TALK TALK they are an awful company to deal with!!!!

Doesn't even deserve one star.. The internet is very very slow even though it says it is running normally. Customer service expect me to use a different source of internet to contact them back when the first place i got broadband was to connect to the internet because i didn't have any. they then tell me they can call me and i explained that i didn't have a home phone so they kept repeating the question and i gave them an alternative number and they said they can't contact me and that i have to contact them. So which is it? They are going to phone me or i have to phone them? Talk Talk is the worst broadband i have ever been with. They are also giving false information. i know for a fact that my line speed isn't what they are claiming it to be because it would be a lot quicker if it was. I cannot watch anything online, web pages will take a long time to load up or won't load at all.

DONT GO WITH TALK TALK NO MATTER HOW GOOD THE OFFER SOUNDS!

They make offers so that they can get people into buying their broadband deals yet it is no worth a single penny!

where do i start, saw an online offer for simply broadband free for 18 months and a £100 love2shop voucher if you swap from sky and keep your old number. only after i had submitted the order did i realise that they had given me a new number, so got in touch via online chat the same hour of the order. so a week before the service goes live stay the same new number, so again i contact them, no reply.
Today the service went live, well was meant to. No internet or landline, so my wife calls them. long story short she was on the phone for four hours spoke to 10 different people. despite being told that it was talktalks fault she was actually told that we where to blame. after 4 hours of pass the customer AND £45 of charges to her mobile bill ( as landline not connected) she got the account sorted EXCEPT that as there is new landline number we do not qualify for the voucher offer. SCAM DONT ON FALL FOR IT LIKE US.

AVOID!! AVOID !! AVOID !! If you are even contemplating talk talk for a cheaper deal dont you will pay more in every way !!! I was a Sky customer and they were great.I left because we needed to save money and Talk Talk came up the cheapest.Well what a bad move. I signed up for a set deal and after a month got a ridiculous bill stating that that deal was old and was on a new plan how can this be when i have the paper work. They would not honour it and set me up on a new plan which was better it was a little more but was told for 12 months instead of 18 so would be out earlier. I have had numerous issues with internet speed my remote going funny then the tv box not working (ps the tv box is rubbish if you want to pull you hair out all the time as its so slow and does what it want always fails recording and works two steps behind what you ask great !)I had a fault remote volume wouldn't work and it was 2 months old they said for a new one it would be £6 but i told them it was not my fault and i would send it to them to look at, after a long battle they said it would be free so along comes the next bill tad-ahh it was charged i called and furiously kicked off and they returned it.Then the tv box wasn't responding i was told if it was my fault it would be £120 but if it was there's it would be free they would be there on a day no specific time just 8 -6 and i have to be in if i wasn't in they would charge me £60. Guess what they came at 715 as we were having dinner and low and behold the box was broken !! So when i enquired about when i can cancel they said not for 14 months as i had signed up for a 18month contract. I was told one thing by the guy on the phone and given another deal when it came to light i didn't check the paper work as i thought the phone calls were recorded apparently they are not when your need to retrace your steps !!! They wont help on the phone and keep saying go to our website and log in to your account to change what you want always avoiding helping you.I even had technical help me once with the internet and they asked me to unplug my line to see if that was as fault when i was on the line ?!?!?! DONT use talk talk ever go with Virgin BT or Sky a little more or about even in my case but the customer service and professionalism is far better. Also i got a half price movie offer before Christmas and i they have a new one out now i tried to use it but because i have used that offer once they can not give it to me ever again only to new customers total bull (Movies channel is through internet and picture quality is grainy)!!!

When my contract ends i will leave and will never return and if you are

    THINKING ABOUT JOINING TALK TALK

Talk talk have been unclear from the start about everything! I signed up with the prospect of a voucher(which was the only thing that made the package more attractive than other competitors at the time) then they said I wasn't eligible, then they ignored some emails (closing incident numbers without responding) and took ages to reply to others.
Their customer services people have always been polite but never seem to be able to readily see history so I've had to repeat myself over and over and never seem to get anywhere.

I'd read some poor reviews of Talk Talk's customer service, but it seemed that the majority of these issues were a few years ago so decided to take up their service, sadly I was wrong.
After looking at some broadband and TV packages, I was pushed through to the TalkTalk sales portal and given a number to call. After discussing the package I'd chosen with the sales staff and importantly reiterated the channel selection for confirmation, I made my purchase. Two weeks later approximately, the service was set up only for me to discover a number of the channels I'd ordered were not available. After a call to customer service I was told these channels were not on the plan I had and would require me to pay more to upgrade, they also told me that as this was a third party site they had no control over what was put up. A comment I rebuked by informing him I was pushed through to the TalkTalk website and had verbalised this with one of the Talk Talk sales team (not a very customer centric method of dealing with the complaint). I was deeply disatisfied with this answer and asked to make a formal complaint and was assured of being called from the CEO's office (really?) within 5 working days. After day 6, I called back and was told in no uncertain terms that the offer would not be given as discussed. End of discussion. At this point I decided to cancel my service with them immediately.
My only recommendation is to be crystal clear if purchasing by phone as mis selling is still present in the market place, and other than a complaint to Ofcom, you have little immediate recourse outside of your initial 14 day cooling off period. There is plenty of content online, so please educate yourself before taking out a plan. Poor form Talk Talk

I was moving house last September, asked for my account to be suspended. Nothing heard until November when they told me that they had cancelled my account and they would be taking approx £95 from my account because I broke my contract. After several emails I finally got to speak to someone in January. It took me over an hour to get through to get to speak to this manager. After a very lengthy discussion, in which she admitted I had never cancelled my account she promised to give me a refund of
approx £150 and promised a returns bag to sent my talk talk box back. When I asked tro speak to someone over her she said it was not possible because she didn't have her managers phone number - how about that for a fob off!!!!! I am still waiting and I keep getting emails to say I need to send box back. I will never use talk talk again and wouldn't recommend them to anyone else.

Absolutely no customer service. I am a TalkTalk customer but my husbands email address is on the account. They deleted my email address without notice and it took 3 phone calls over 5 days and 4 hours before they admitted it. So frustrating!! They said they there was nothing they could do to get it back. People sending email to that address are not receiving notifications to say the address is no longer valid. TalkTalk should either email people in advance of deleting an address so they can put auto forward on or contact Talktalk to get it sorted or arrange for automated email to go out to senders of email advising the address is no longer valid. It's also impossible to find a way of registering a complaint by email, which is totally unacceptable. THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. TALKTALK DON''T CARE AT ALL.

Don't touch them, sorry I left BT.I had phone only and added Broadband. Received letter 29th Dec advising changes would be no longer free calls to 0845 or 0870 or Voicemail. Received Bill Jan £63.50, £44.62 for calls! She said because I wasn't advised I no longer get free calls would knock £20 off. If I want free calls will have to take TV package,no way. Now I have to pay £7.50 per month for free calls. My friend has same package as me, Simply Broadband, and pays £29 odd per month with free calls, I will be paying over £36 for same package. If I want to cancel contract it will cost me £150. Don't touch them they are liars and con merchants. Been on to Trading Standards to see if they can help me.

They do not even deserve a star, words cannot begin to describe what a cowboy company this is!

Internet is terrible, so slow and always cuts out. Try speaking to them about it and its useless, better off hitting your face with a pan.

When reporting the internet was down they told my pregnant partner to unscrew a plug socket ... UNSCREW A PLUG SOCKET! Its beggars belief this company are allowed to trade.

DO NOT USE!!! YOU WILL REGRET IT!

We are on talktalk unlimited business fibre broadband for nealy 8 months. We never had any speed problems at any time of day until the start of February 2015. There was no connection to the internet between 5pm-11pm every day. I contacted talktalk and logged my complaint on 2nd Feb 2015.
This did not make any difference. They asked me to submit my speed tests which I did at the intervals they asked me to. Then they asked me to forward them some PING tests and TRACERT test which I also did. As of 21st Feb 2015 the problem is still there. In fact it has become worst now. Over the weekends there is no internet connectivity throughout the day. I have kept calling them every 2nd day and every time I was told a different story of progress on there end. Some times I was told it was issue in the area, other time BT is looking into it, then their own network team is looking into it, then they said there is no issues on their end. Then they said to moved to a lower ADSL package as they have issue on 'UPPER LEVEL' and they don't know when their 'TOP MANAGEMENT' will look into it.
They techicnal team is most of the times rude and talk to you like they need to go loo and they are in very rush. I can not recommend Talk Talk to any one else.

Where to start. They charge a random amount per month above 30 quid for reasons their shoddy customer service can't work out or want to say. Their speeds are so terrible you can't online shop, watch YouTube, use Netflix, play Xbox Live or even use your mobile phone online separately let alone a combination of mobile/console/computer. They have now even lowered our speed from appalling to "Good luck having a stable 0.6mbps connection for more than an hour" after cable got laid to force us to swap. Never got the speed we were promised to begin with, but now I'm missing the 90's when 56kbps was quicker and more reliable. Don't even get me started on the upload speed. And they then tell use "Nothing has changed, but if you want, you can take cable if you need more speed. We'll start the purchase order now for you without your permission." I'd liken this service to using a prototype version of 1980's Telnet, and would more likely recommend that than Talk Talk. If you want to swap, tell them you're moving to Australia. They have to cancel your contract otherwise they are in breach of it because they don't provide Broadband in Australia. If you want to swap to Talk Talk, stop drinking Formaldehyde then re-think every choice that led to you thinking that was a good idea.

I have been with TalkTalk for several years.
Recently could not send or receive emails from one of my TalkTalk email address. After a long phone call, I was told this can only be accessed using web mail. I have not altered any of the settings and do not have any problems with the other three email addresses.
I do not like or want to use the web mail as I have to make several clicks with the mouse to read a message. Thi si slow and cumbersome and a backward step.
Having completed the survey about the service, I have now had a letter telling me how I can contact them. I already knew this and there is nothing about why the change has taken place and if it is being corrected.
There are several mistakes in my address and I suppose I am lucky that Royal Mail did deliver it.
As I am on a monthly rolling contract, I cab change any time.
So I am planning to move later this year after we have had some work done on the house. I will install a pipe for the cable so that my garden and flags are not disturbed when a new fibre optic cable is installed.
    Will never recommend them

I wish I'd heeded the warnings before I joined in December 2013, TalkTalk have been an absolute nightmare from start to (nearly) finish.

Initially I signed up because I was tempted by the good value pricing vs. the Sky package I was already on. TT were offering a free YouView box to sweeten the deal - and that sold it to me. After 3 months the YV box started freezing during playback, and after another few weeks the hard drive died altogether - rendering the YV useless and crippled.
I called technical support who confirmed that the hard drive was probably dead, but unfortunately also confirmed that because the YV box was free at the initial point of contract that there was NO WARRANTY PROVIDED. I would have to purchase another box at £200. What an absolute load of tosh. I was paying extra monthly for this YV box, so why did it not come with a warranty?

To top it off, after just 4 months of being in contract with TalkTalk, they emailed to say they were putting the contract price up for my package. How is that fair? 4 months into an 18 month contract and they hike up the price without any way to protest or break away without penalty.

The final nail in the coffin for me is more recent, I'm now over 13 months into the contract, and looking forward to leaving in July. However, I'm also moving house in the next couple of months, and called TalkTalk to discuss the house move process so I can see out the remainder of the contract at my new property. At this point I was advised that the house move process RENEWS the contract for a further 24 MONTHS! Absolutely not! I will NOT stay with these thieves for another 2 years. No way.

So I called to see how much a cancellation would be at this point. After doing some maths, the retention personal said I would have to pay £270 - WHAT!? 5 months left equates to £270? I asked her to break it down; 5 x my monthly contract of £40 PLUS a £70 fee for the YouView box. HAHA what!? £70 for the FREE YV box that doesn't work and isn't in warranty because it's free? Unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable.

Infuriating!!! After signing up nearly a year ago, and having intermittent broadband on most days, appalling customer services (typically spending over an hour each call) with no resolution after multiple calls. I am pulling my hair out. Call centre seems to be India with sunny personalities reading from a script, not listening or being helpful ultimately. I escalated to senior manager on several occasions, but to no avail. Stay away from Talktalk is my advice!

Offered a free mobile sim 4 months ago and registered online straight away and received an order confirmation email within minutes. 4 months later, hours and hours of being put on hold or transferred to a different department, and still no sim card although I do now have 4 identical emails each with a different order number. As soon as my contract ends I'm off !

After speaking to the customer service I was told that the £65 charge can't be cancelled or decreased. After 20 min on the phone I asked to cancel my contract since I was allowed to change my mind after 14 days of signing the contract but even for this I was told I have to pay circa £160.
    WTF!!!
DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE TO SIGNE WITH TALK TALK. THEY ARE DREADFUL.

What can I say- rubbish reliability and slow speed. My connection drops out many times a day (sometimes half a dozen times an hour). Customer service is utterly useless, staffed by rude people with poor spoken English skills and very hard to understand. I will be moving back to BT as soon as my contract finishes. It's true that you get what you pay for...... Talk Talk had a poor reputation from the start and after a brief period of improved service, it's been getting steadily worse again. Several of my neighbours have the same issue with dropping connection and poor speed and have also got nowhere fast with customer services. AVOID!!!

Really poor customer service - after being 28 minutes on call with 3 different people none of them was able to assist me regarding changing the delivery address of the router. If that is not an option why I needed to waits 30 minutes of my time on a call. Disappointed already before even the start of my service....

Even one star is too much, but you have to click on someting to go on.
I have been battling with TalkTalk for 9 months now.Bills of up yp £150 a month instead of 329 becuase they switched my package without notice. Phone and B.B. cut off 3 times now-without warning-great for a teen in middle of exams.I can truely say-they havemake me ill with the angst and frustration.Am off to Small Claims Court next! First time I've been pushed this far.

I have never had such terrible service from any type of utilities provider. Shocking broadband speed and connection and even worse customer service. Rude staff who do not listen and are not capable of dealing with the most simple tasks. I will never recommend Talk Talk to anyone and cannot wait to have rid of their attempt of a service. Abysmal!! The worst!!!!

After many months of low speed & repeated internet dropout 3/4 times per day I was forced to terminate my contract 1 month early. I had 3 months pre-paid line rental still holding but in all the final correspondence they never mentioned this. I had a final bill for £121.00 for the TV box (I had already sent back to them with the router),and an engineer visit that they had arranged to sort out the problem (with no result). I stopped the Direct debit (2 weeks after switching to Sky) before they could grab the money & I,m now waiting for the bailiffs before contacting my solicitor.

Very cheap broadband that was reliable and reasonably quick for the money. However their customer service is awful, beyond awful! They refused to cancel my contract despite passing the 12.months, one customer service advisor said they would write off a debt but didn't so they kept invoicing me. I called again to get them to write it off as promised butthe next advisor (who was allegedly a manager), said " if I can, I already did" the conversation then turned into an English grammar lesson to establish what she meant. Avoid them like the plague and go to sky, so much better and cheaper at Carphone Warehouse.

So when I first got talk talk I didn't have anything bad to say until I moved home and tried getting them to change address they expected me to keep paying my bills but made up lies that I had to wait to get it changed to my new home every time I rang I was told a new date so when I finally got it moved a month later it came on and only worked for 2 days so I'm now having no internet again and having to sit on the phone to people who don't have a clue what they're talking about and who don't understand me either , I tried to cancel but they're not letting me so I'm stuck with nothing for my money !

I have recently joined TalkTalk and already regret the decision. I cannot get a stable signal and my experience of customers service is terrible. At one point I was offered a free engineer visit to sort out the problem to be denied it by the next person I spoke to.Reluctanly they have agreed to send a new router to see if that is the problem. I will let you know if this works

they had an error i did not receive working broad band, the are putting 50 pounds charge on every month for engineer ive never wanted or asked for in my house and hes not been in apart from first time after i reiterated that i did not want one in my house and that i was qualified enough to know the problem was external.....after a long drawn out discussion in which they left me on hold and even hung up on numerous times they decided to wave the 50 pound and refund me for loss of service....since then they have put 50 pounds on my account 2 times and they are changing direct debit dates and amounts to their benefit every month ...this is getting really bad and they have not resolved this after telling me twice it would be and claiming my bill will be reduced for next 3 or 4 month they have not done it .....only adjustment they seem to be managing is adding this 50 pounds every month......im really shocked at how much lies and fobbing off they have tried after excepting their mistake 3 times they continue to try and extort money from an engineer i never requested or had and for a shoddy service instead of refunding me my credit as they claimed they would .....they now say we will log a complaint, this is just more fobbing off i suspect , i would leave them but they are due me a lot of money for the service they never supplied....that being phone and broadband , in all my years ive never dealt with a worse customer support team for lies and time wasting ......they have no customer support team , they are beyond a joke , useless company and employees ......as soon as i get refunded i will be heading for the hills. talktalk are crooks without question

WORST company ever to deal with. Internet service was OK until router stopped working - had to fight hard for a replacement. Now trying to leave is a disaster. We have emigrated overseas and still trying to close our account. They have assured us multiple times that they would waiver our last bill and now they are chasing us for it. They make promises on the phone but refuse to put them in writing - then they do the opposite to what they promised. Customer service is dreadful, complaints process is dreadful, company is diabolical.

THEY ARE JUST AN INCOMPETENT MONEY GREEDY COMPANY WHO TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS LIKE CRAP AS SOON AS YOU'VE SIGNED A CONTRACT!! AVOID AT ALL COST!!!

I was told that they would make moving home easy but insisted on a new 24 month contract or a huge cancellation fee. And then, when I was finally moved in and agreed to re-start the contract, they wasted 2 working days saying their engineer was going to come and fix it..only to inform me at the END OF THE DAY that their team needed to do more work before sending their engineer. In the end, it turns out they couldn't provide the service to my area, BUT STILL INSISTED THAT I PAY THE CANCELLATION FEE BECAUSE I HAD EXPRESSED MY WISH TO LEAVE THEIR SERVICE!!! WHAT A CON!! Absolutely no respect for their customers.

THEY WILL SEND YOU FROM ONE MANAGER TO THE NEXT SAYING ITS NOT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY WHEN THINGS DONT WORK... AND YOU WILL STILL HAVE TO PAY THEM AN EXTORTIONATE AMOUNT OF MONEY (BOTH IN PHONE CALLS, WHICH TAKE ALL DAY TO BE ANSWERED, AND IN CONTRACT FEES!!)

FOR GOD'S SAKE DONT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THESE PEOPLE !

One word for TalkTalk broadband, "PATHETIC"!.

People who are deciding on TalkTalk services, beware. Its the most unreliable broadband service that I have ever used. Most of the times (particularly when one needs it badly) the speed mysteriously falls below 3 MBPS. If you have a smart TV with streaming functionality, just forget it. You will be presented with the nasty buffering icon. Customer care is pathetic as well. Most of the TalkTalk technical help and speed issues, the customer cannot send a mail! It has a chat functionality, but Alas! most of the time agents are not available.

Most unreliable service people. Stay away! I am trying to leave, but damn!, no customer care representative to talk to!
