They consistently offer better deals to new customers than existing ones and their support team is useless.

Been with talk talk for six months now. Never had such unreliable broadband. Don't bother with these. You will spend hours on phone to customer services with advisors who really have no idea and you cannot understand them as they will be from mumbai. Can't wait for the contract to end ! I'm leaving as soon as possible!! Save your money !

Moved from Plusnet to TT just over a month ago, BIG MISTAKE there has been a noticeable reduction in download speed (yet to get the guaranteed minimum download speed which is a paltry 1.9Mbs). I've made the usual phone calls and written two letters so far to no effect. I can't recommend them based on my experience.

Potential customers beware. Do not take up a contract with TalkTalk.

TalkTalk advertise on the TV, and will tell you over the telephone, that their 30 Day Guarantee allows you to leave if you're not happy free of charge.

TalkTalk engineer failed to attend a confirmed appointment to carry out installation at my home after I had taken an un-paid days leave. No contact from them, no apology, no explanation. I cancelled my order within the 30 days and now they have sent me two bills, Early Exit Fees £279.85 and a monthly bill of £36.54 for a service that they never installed and never took over from my previous IP provider.

It's scandalous that this company, which comes under the BT umbrella, are allowed to do business. Do yourselves a big favour and choose a different Internet Provider because this lot are criminals and regardless of what they advertise or tell you they will be lying.

Oh dear, nothing to say other than APPALLING. Having received NO notification that my contract had ended two years ago, it transpires that having been charged £51 per month suddenly I am told it could be reduced to £29.50 as I quoted my potential suppliers price. Sorry, too late, not only that the broadband has been so intermittent it has not been worth £2.50 per month!

Firstly, I will say that I consider basic telephone and broadband services as UTILITIES, not some high tech option or accessory subject to brand differentiation or loyalty. That said, TalkTalk may be somewhat cheaper than BT (who I left two years ago) but they play fast and loose with their contracts and term variance, just like or perhaps more than other providers. Getting problems resolved contract complexities explained is neigh unto impossible. A time consuming pain.

The broadband constantly cuts out, causing major issues for our organisation. The customer service team will never accept liability, I have changed everything they have told me to change from my end and there is still issues.
Finally they have the audacity to say that there is a £166.66 call out fee which we believe is unreasonable.

For the past week my broadband signal has been dropping out so I rang talk talk and they said they would test my line and I was to ring them back in 20 mins for the result. I rang for the result and was told that they need to do a few more tests! They told me that if an engineer called out and the problem was in my flat it would cost me £30 plus! I told them I cant afford to pay that so she said she would guide me through the checking process. She had me doing all sorts from unscrewing the phone socket to moving the modem to the master socket which was in another room, I told her that I am 70 years old and not fit enough to be moving furniture around and unscrew sockets as I didnt know what I was doing and I might break the socket for which I would be billed for!! She then she said if an engineer called it would cost £60 wtf!! She said I would need to leave the modem plugged into the master socket for 3 days, I told her I couldnt do that as I had to use an electric extension cable which was across the room and it was a danger hazard! as I could trip on it and injure myself. She told me if I didnt comply then there was nothing else she could do as she had check everything before an engineer called out to find the problem. I kept repeating that it wasnt a problem with my phone line but the broadband signal but it was a waste of time, I then promptly told her to forget it and that Ive had enough and put the phone down on her.
I cant believe that they expected an oap to unscrew the socket to reach the test socket to see if that was at fault!! Unbelievable!

If a minus 5 start rating were available it would be too good for Talk Talk. My dealings with them over the past few months have been the most frustrating, stressful I have ever had. I have spent two an a half hours on the phone to their unprofessional, rude, customer service staff trying to get a MAC code. I recently wrote to their CEO at their Southampton headquarters and the response I got from a Carrie McGhie are a perfect example of everything that is wrong with this company. After detailing my complaint and supplying with them documented evidence of my three hours spent on the phone to them, they take no responsibility for any of their mistakes and say they will 'continue to look into it'. They even had the audacity to end their letter with details of how I could pay the remaining £17 on my account even though this was charged to my account after I had asked them to close it. I don't know how this company are allowed to continue to do business and provide such poor customer service over and over again. DO NOT USE TALK TALK UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO HAVE TO SPEND SO MUCH TIME DEALING WITH SUCH A POOR COMPANY.

All the time things are working you’re okay but when You need to contact customer service that’s when the problems start the phone operators speak English very badly. My Wi-Fi box keeps flashing red to green lights indicating there is a fault they say there is a problem on the line 2 weeks later I have not seen or heard an engineer to check it out but they still receive my money Until the 20th of April when I will be leaving.

    Dear All
I would like to share my experience with TalkTalk .
After a long time with my previous internet provider i decided to switch, which as it turns out was a very bad idea (at least with choosing this company).
I did apply online on the 19th of June and being informed that i will go live with TalkTalk on the 6th of July which obviously never happen , not only didn't have the service i wasn't even had the router by that time . Considering the situation of Covid-19 i was patient and wait but after two days my previous provider stop the services leading me with nothing .
After waiting 2 hours i was lucky to have a response from someone on the online chat and being told that on the 8th (two days after they haven't even post the router ).
Previous week i called and ask to cancel my order as they failed completely of their promises and i was informed that i cannot do that because as they said they send me another router believing my first one was faulty , i was advice to wait another 3-5 working days , 9 days had gone and nothing is been delivered , so as i clearly see that the are fooling me i call them again asking for the cancellation of my order ending up the person on the phone hang up to me as soon as i told them that i will send my lawyer
As i would not like to make my story massive i will take you straight to today been 3 and a half weeks with no internet in my household and every time i contact TalkTalk in any way (online chat, phone, email ) the only reply i get is that i have to wait 3-5 days more and that they are really sorry !
In conclusion the customer service is beneath zero , help support poor and Management team absent !

What a bunch of cowboys. Should have gone live 9/12/22. Nope didn’t happen. Phoned everyday, to be told would be up and running by 9pm. Nope. On 20 December am engineer finally sent, fault on line but, he couldn’t connect me because he couldn’t carry out his checks. I have complained and requested callbacks, no contact until 21 December to be told I will have to pay £181 cancellation fee and £34 for the service I haven’t received since 9 December. Do not give them the time of day absolutely awful way to terest people very upset and angry at the lack of service, customer service or support

Customer service is absolutley terrible. All foreign call centres following a script.I suffered 2 major internet and phone issues over a period of 16 days called TalkTalk on a registered mobile to report a fault and progress chase and got charged £22.00. 20 years as a customer no refund offered and have spent many hours on a phone trying to resolve problems they are utter rubbish. Gone to BT NOW VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Anyone thinking of going with TalkTalk....Dont!!
Although the service is affordable their customer service is horrendous! The last 3 months I have been cut off due to no payment being made even though I have a direct debit set up with them which has been confirmed by my bank also. When calling them they have always accused me of cancelling my direct debit when in actual fact they are the ones at fault. The customer service team are extremely rude and do not take responsibility for their own faults! They even went far enough to charge me £12 each time for non payment. I have been with them for nearly 2 years now and have never cancelled my direct debit with them!!You're supposed to be helped by customer service team not accused of stuff. I had one team member argue with me so much I demanded to speak to manager who was just as bad!
If you need to contact them by phone, only do it if you really need too. As soon as my contacts up in September im gone!!

Talk talk is dire. I've had slow broadband of 0.3 download for months. Now I have no phone line but still have 0.3 Mbs out of up to 17mbs. It also freezes about twice an hour with their router or my new router. I waited in for an engineer that didn't turn up. Ive unscrewed the box and sent a photo. Ive had my line reset more than I've had a hot meal in the last month. They are very efficient at taking my direct debit out so kudos there. Although that's gone up by ££8 / month recently and still no ability to take calls or get some money back.

This review is entirely biased as it only allows you to put 1 star as the lowest option!!!!

Talk Talk are the worst company to deal with in the telecoms market.

I Only ended up as a TALK TALK customer by default due to one tel being consumed by this bunch of utter charlatans.....

TALK TALK do not deserve any stars for the service they provide. As a customer of theirs they take the liberty of constantly contacting you in a worse manner than any cold calling call center trying to sell you something...When you have a problem its like the cockroaches in the basement when the lights go on....

The Broadband service they provide is a joke with constant drop out and loss of connection, which is just bearable even when it is working.....

Having finally decided to get rid of them things can only get worse than being with them.....

I am now in a bitter dispute with them as they decided on leaving to charge me a £10 admin fee which they never told me about & then see fit to perpetually charge me unpaid fees on every month, and all this occurs even after paying my final bill....

    AVOID

I'm moving and have found I cannot cancel my contract I have to pay until January 2016. Unfortunately when I took out the contract I had no intention of moving, however I have just exchanged contracts and have a completion date for 7 days time. This is where my nightmare begins, it appears I cannot have my phone disconnected in my current property as they insist on 30 days notice. I have accepted I have to pay to get out of the contract, I even agreed I would pay whatever I might owe before I move. However Talk Talk refuse to disconnect my phone line all I can do is bar my current number otherwise the new owners can use the service at my expense until 3rd August when the 30 day notice period expires. I called ofcom who said that 7-10 notice to disconnect the line is reasonable and as I am not refusing to pay all exit fees etc there shouldn't be a problem. Ofcom advised me to raise a complaint with the ombudsman should Talk talk still refuse to disconnect my landline. I have told Talk Talk I will escalate my complaint but they will not budge they refuse to disconnect my phone. I have said I will pay extra to have it disconnected but the answer is NO I didn't give 30 days notice. This must affect lots of people as it not unusual for people not to know their exact moving date 30 days in advance when buying/selling property. Talk Talk refuse to budge, customer satisfaction and good PR means nothing. They do not care about customers at all, they are not gaining additional money from me by refusing to disconnect my phone as I have to pay them close to £200 just to get out of the contract! I have never encountered a company so unwilling to provide a pleasant customer service experience. I will NEVER use Talk Talk again and would advise anyone to steer clear. This company do not see customers as people who pay there wages we are just an inconvenience to them and they do not care in the slightest about customer satisfaction. All I wanted was for my phone to be disconnected on the day I move or shortly after, I am will pay any monies I owe under the contract I am stuck with, but really is it too much to ask for my phone to be disconnected when I move? I have never encountered this with any other telecoms company. I can honestly say this is the worst service I have ever received. How simple would it be to just say you are liable for all these charges but as a gesture of goodwill we will disconnect your phone on the day you move. I am self employed and wanted to keep my telephone number but Talk Talk seem determined I won't. I was able to keep my number transferring from BT to Talk Talk but not if I want to transfer back to BT. This company has a shocking disregard for their customers. If you want to keep your sanity AVOID this company!

I am a carer for man with disabilities and mental health problems. They had rang him up and got him to agree to a mobile phone contract that he didn't need as he is with Orange PAYG which suits his needs. I rang them along with himself and after an hour while sorting this out after many departments got cut off. I then decided to email them explaining about these mental health problems where he's vulnerable. They replied saying I needed 'Power of Attorney' and to get a lawyer. We then rang up again and explained the situation together with him giving me authorization to talk to them. After him being with them for 4 years they told us his address wasn't right after both of us repeating it about 6 times! Then how is it we have all these papers from you with these details on in front of us. The representative was rude so I insisted he gats his supervisor on Manager there as I didn't like his attitude..trying to start a fight with me and to get this sorted. Firstly he said they weren't.It's only when I demanded to see them that he got a manger who continued to say his address was wrong! They said they'd sort this out but we'll wait and see. Don't have much faith as he obviously doesn't exist unless there's money to be had! Apart from this we find the broadband OK here. They seriously need to work on their customer service...also not to lie about things on your bill and how it will 'be cheaper for you'...I checked the bills and it would have cost more. I also do not like being mislead into thinking their directories are free also. One person said they are completely free and the next not. We are asking for a vast improvement in customer service and honesty which should be expected.

We are on our third wireless box in three months, total crap when you get in touch with talk talk they Palm you off with a load of guff. Our internet has just about given up with this lot and they do not seem to care about customer relations. It would help if the person you speak to spoke English, we have 18 months left on the contract and can't wait to get rid of these wasters.

They were charging me to find my mobile without it going to answering machine, because I hung up when I heard where it was. I had a conversation with the customer service, they contradicted them selves over and over direct lying to people, just think if they do that to all customers they could be making billions per year. When some of us could do with that extra pound or two here and there.

Our home Talk Talk broadband internet has been awful for well over a month now. Simply the worst internet connection I've ever had, really, and I've worked in IT for over 20 years!!! The router disconnects or the BB goes down about 20 times a day. The speed is awful, so we can't stream 1 programme on Netflix without it crashing. This is with all other home devices disconnected (we literally have to turn off or in airplane mode before deciding to put a movie on for the kids!)
I am certainly changing provider ASAP as it has been a poor level of service for 6 months, this last month has simply taken the biscuit!!

I see why there is a cancellation fee, it is rubbish, broadband is terrible, TV box is rubbish, if sky is costing £60 a month then this is worth £10 a month and that's being generous.

For no reason I've been placed on a max 1Mb package since I signed up in July. & despite ringing them up constantly over the last 6 weeks since they let this slip they've still not managed to flip the switch to give me more bandwidth! An hr on phone to CS in India each time, doing same tests over again! Not kept 1 promise or refund. Paying £15 pm bb alone! As soon as contract runs out I'm off!! Don't consolidate your package with Talk talk!!

Had problems from the start, loop holes hidden fees and incompetence.Said first payment was due 15th of mth following connection. We had it put in on 12th.we were led to believe this meant mth after.when actually was due 3 days after installation. Then we got charged £16 by bank and £10 by talktalk for late payment. When you ring they are rude and misleading.Could hear them mocking me to each other down phone.Had nearly £20 extra on usual bill due to hidden charges. Am trying to terminate contract as always problems and costs more than originally thought. Would not recommend. Horrific service!

I had two accounts with talk talk at separate addresses and I decided to cancel one midway through the contract as it wasn't really needed. I accepted that I would have to pay a cancellation fee and I paid the December bill as usual and I was told that my final billing date would be the 4th of January and payment would be due out on the 11th. On the 22nd of December I received a text message from my bank saying that I was £149 overdrawn and when I looked into it, Talk Talk had attempted to take the cancellation fee out at a totally different date to was was agreed upon. I phoned them up and was bashing my head against a brick wall trying to deal with an absolute moron from their call center who insisted that I was £40 in credit and after telling them half a dozen times that they were looking at the wrong account they were still absolutely clueless and hung up on me. I did however manage to get through on another number and the money that was taken was immediately put back into my account after I told them what had happened and they advised me to contact the bank. I made it clear that the money wasn't supposed to be taken out while the 11th and I told her to make a note of it on the computer. The end of it? No the stupid idiots have gone and raided my bank account again on the 4th of January! The customer service is abysmal at best and like I said I have two accounts? I won't even go into my broadband not working for a week when my router got attacked with a worm. Funny how they don't offer you a refund for the poor service they provide but are quick enough to raid peoples bank accounts when they feel like it.

I was with Talk Talk, on an 18 month contract. Using the landline to call any local number, apart from Talk Talk customers, was very expensive; this meant that I rarely used the landline.
The internet was unreliable, especially for the last seven months of the contract. I contacted them seven times during that time to report the problem. Each time I called them it took between one and two hours to sort out, then the internet would stop working again a week or two later. It took so much time and energy each time, that I just stopped calling them eventually because I did not have the time or energy to waste. At the end of the contract the price increased by approximately £10 a month. When I tried to cancel the contract, after it ended, I was bombarded with calls, offering me a cheaper service; so much for rewarding loyal customers! I was told that I should receive compensation due to the poor quality of the service. I was given a measly £17; an absolute insult and a disgraceful way to treat their customers. I’m glad to finally see the back of them.

Utterly appalling company. My broadband connection was lost for 11 days in June 2009. It resulted in the following:-
Total No of calls to T/T 26
Total time spent waiting for my calls to be answered:- 2 hrs 48 mins.
Total time spent actually talking to someone:-3Hrs 18 mins.
Total time on ALL calls (answered or not) 6 Hrs 6 mins. (Mostly to some ghastly call-centre in India of course!)
No. of times I was deliberately cut off:- 8
Number of times put onto so-called "24 hour test period" 3 (designed to get rid of a nuisance call no doubt)
NB: Almost all of my own call-logging tied in exactly with their own system as billed.
All followed by an eight page document to Warrington along with letters (no good trying email!!) and various supporting proof. Finally heard from a telephone engineer somewhere in the ether who told me my problem was now sorted and it took him TEN seconds to fix it when he got the paperwork, and he couldn't understand why it had taken so long for them to get him to deal with it.
When my contract expires I will definitely be looking more closely for a better outfit - if there is such a thing!

I urge all readers...... DO NOT SIGN UP WITH TALK TALK. This is one of the WORST companies I have ever dealt with. I ended up leaving Talk Talk 6 months early because they could not provide me with more than 2MB internet speed. I could walk to France faster than it would take to load anything. Customer support was absolutely awful and there were a lot of language barriers where they couldn't understand what I was saying and I couldn't understand them. They started to charge me an extra £1 per month on top of my actual contract for no apparent reason and with no notice. They obviously denied this.
These guys are truly Cowboys through and through. I left Sky to go to Talk Talk. A mistake I will never make again.
I will never use Talk Talk again.
