For anyone vaguely contemplating using this company for anything, please reconsider and look elsewhere. During the course of the last 4 weeks our broadband has been either non existent or woefully slow (less than 1Mbps). My wife runs her business from home and relies completely on the internet. She has lost an untold amount of business.
In common with other people who have submitted their reviews I have lost count of the number of wasted hours talking to agents, 'fault managers' or on line chats in order to find a resolution to this ongoing fiasco. Nobody that we have been in contact with has had the skill set, the technical knowledge or the realisation that this is costing us money and our sanity. Please do not entertain this hopeless excuse for a company.

Talk talking is RUBBISH. Broadband is SLOW and I need to reset the router every couple of days. The you view box is just as bad. I get failed recordings quite a lot and it resets itself halfway through a programme which ruins the entertainment. The telephone service Is pretty good BUT on the whole TALK TALKING is RUBBISH I only stay with them because we have another 18 months of contract to go. I cannot WAIT to go to a BETTER supplier.

Don't actually know how reliable the broadband is or the speed as I have been waiting for a router for nearly a month. I have rung up three times and been told one will be sent out to me and asked the same questions over and over such as why do you need a new router? Can you send us the old one? (I left it at my old property) but regardless it wouldn't have worked anyway as I am upgrading from ADSL to fivre optic and they should know that if they know any first thing about the service and products they are dealing with since they can see I am upgrading and have even confirmed that with me!

It would help if they spoke sufficient English for there not to be a huge language barrier. It is difficult to understand each other and you feel as though you have been talking to a brick wall. I spent over an hour talking to them the other week and they put me through to one person after another only to then suddenly tell me they couldn't see my account now as it was blocked and referred me to a third party debt collection service!! I rung them and they had no record of my account... rung Talk Talk back and spoke to someone with a slightly better grasp of English who realised they had me confused with someone else!! They must have had the same landline number years ago or something. No idea.

I am currently on hold (again) to cancel as after ringing up for the router again I am being told they can not cancel my first months fee (that I haven't even been able to use) they will only refund me from 'when I opened up this new package' - which isn't even the date I first rung to arrange the new package! Don't know where they have plucked this date from - either because that is the date an engineer came to install the line or because that is the date I first rang up and asked where my router was and it was like I was reminding them I had joined their company! Regardless, they say they can only refund £6 of £16, yet I haven't been able to use the internet whatsoever so what am I paying for?!
Now as I told them I want to cancel they have eventually told me they can cancel this months pay but frankly I am not sure I even want to stay with them. i just hope I never have to ring their customer service again! I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't the end of it anyway...

Bottom line don't be drawn in by the cheapness unless you have to - there's a reason they are so cheap!!

If you do go with them, make sure you get them to confirm over the phone when you set it up that if you don't receive the speeds and data they say you will, then you will be able to cancel without a cancellation fee. I am hoping that will save me if it turns out it doesn't work well!!

AVOID worst ever .tHEY continue charging even after contract expired and anothere person had brodband connected in new name with new number. Engeniers visited address and did manual disconect and then connected new line.when contacted online i was told i need to cancel even if contract expired and i can`t do it online. I haVE TO CALL ON PHONE.CANCELATION TAKE 30 DAYS FOR WHICH THEY CHARGE YOU EVEN WHEN THEY DO NOT PROVIDE ANY SERVICE TO YOU. so if you do not look at your bank statments they will continue to still your money untill you figure it out and after you do they will charge you for another 30 days to kill your account ( their words kill the account) do not take it escalate complain .It is criminal what they get away with.

Absoloutly disgusted with the service I am receiving. Joined with talk talk last month after not having internet for several years. The price seemed perfect and well within my budget so I paid for it and that's when all the drama started!

The day my internet was set up i was given the 'OK' by the engineer they had sent out and told me the internet should be running by midnight. This was not the case and I had to contact them via online chat (as they charge you via mobile to ring them) from my mobile hotspot. It turns out the engineer didn't actually set anything up properly and merely wasted my time throughout the morning. Devastated and annoyyed was not the words at this point! A week after another engineer was sent out and finally had it up and running! The speed of the internet was great till recently.

A week after talk talk employees ring you to ask you how everything is (which I thought was quiet nice of them) I told the guy on the phone it was working well and I am really enjoying the speed of the internet etc. So what does he decide to do? Sell me stuff over the phone! Asking me about my mobile provider I am currently with and wether I would like to switch to talk talk, which I told him no and that I was happy with who I was with. So he starts questioning me about my package that I have with them and comparing it with theirs! Which I was having none of! So he carries on explaining about it (baring in mind it has been over half an hour and I was getting extremely annoyyed with his presence on the phone now) and how he will give me a discount to which I had said no thanks, he has now put his manager on the phone asking me how many sims I would like and I also told them I didn't want them! So this stupid manager passes the phone back and he proceeds talking about the sims! I asked him if there would be any charges on these sims if they are not used to which he replied 'NO' so to get him off the phone I ordered 4, seen as though they were free and I was just going to chuck them in the bin anyway!

A week later I had other issues with my broadband and went to check my account and had an outstanding balance of 44.40!!! For the stupid sims he told me were free! So I went straight onto the online chat and explained to the lady what has happened and she referred me to a different department, who also sent me to a different department and then I was waiting over 15 minutes for the other department before they ended my chat! (Absoloutly fuming at this point)

A few days later I tried again and it was the same thing, department to department till I finally got hold of some lovely individual who wrote downna formal complaint and asked a manager to ring me in the morning. So I was up and ready waiting for this phonecall which was meant to happen at 9am. I didn't get the call till 12.30 (wasting my time once again) and on came a foreign bloke who knew 2 words of english.. literally. So he did not know what I was saying and I didn't know what he was saying either. He said he would ring back tomorrow. Which he never did!

They set up a direct debit for this payement without informing me so I have cancelled it and I am still currently with TalkTalk but will not be for much longer till I am compensated and have this stupid issue resolved because I will not be paying stupid amounts of money for somethinf which was nothing but a lie from the talk talk team.

I do not reccommend talk talk whatsoever for anybody! They are just horrible little money grabbers who know nothing about customer service and putting customers first!

A business is nothing without individuals like us and will be losing another customer yet again.

I am leaving talk talk after 4 months. The broadband speed is ok when it works, but is extremely unreliable. It is a lottery which device in our household will connect to the router. When I contacted talk talks call centre in India they were nothing short of useless and would not send an engineer to my house unless I paid, or send me a replacement router. They are cheap, but I would avoid them at all cost, along with AOL who they own.

Slowest speed I have ever used. Cuts out sporadically, if people call the landline etc. Have called and problem has never been resolved. Tried to upload a 40meg file on wetransfer and it said it would take 185 hours. Forget about streaming.

We have been with talktalk nearley 18 months. I am really looking forward to the day we can get away from this service provider. Everything you can think of has gone wrong and now our contract is coming to an end they are making it hard for me to get a pak code to port my mobile number away from them. The mobile number was mine to start with and I transfered it to them. I would advise any person who is considering joining Talktalk to think again they are a very poor all round service provider

Yes this internet is cheap, but cheap isn't good if your not getting the service your paying for. Talk talk is only good if you don't run into any problems.

I've the Internet for a year and a half and ran into problems two weeks ago. My internet speed dropped from the usual 4mb/s to .3mb/s and latency went to 500m/s.

A technician came around and proved that the home setup was fine and it was a problem with the open reach line which talk talk rent from BT.
I booked the Openreach tech for the following week; Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday, told they would turn up on either one of those days.

I waited home for those three days and no technician showed. Upon ringing talk talk on the night of the Wednesday; they told me that an Openreach technician wasn't needed because they thought it was a problem with my home setup. I explained I already had a talk talk technician prove my setup but they said he might have missed something.

I wasn't prepared to wait for another week for them to tell me my setup is ok again, I've cancelled my direct debit and ordered Virgin.

It's iust their comstomer support that's the problem. All They needed to do it get BT to turn the gain up on the line but what could have been a 20minute solution turned into a 3 week shambles with no solution within sight.

The customer service was appalling. The one
Time that I had to contact them due to
Their error I found the customer service,
Unprofessional , not understanding, and did not
Grasp the reason for my call.
Very disappointing because the actual connection
Of the broad band was great. A great shame I
Would suggest that they allow you to speak to
A professional an English speaking person
If you have a complaint to resolve. Nothing
About overseas contracts but this does not
Work for talk talk. Overall satisfaction is zero
Not the above as your web page will not allow amend

I'm not paying for the interent (thank god) as it is just garage and that's been polite. Constantly down or very slow and very poor connection. struggles with more then 2 devise are connected. Used to be with virgin and we don't live in an amazing spot for Internet but I wish we stayed with virigin. Hardly half as many problems with as with talktalk. Be better of going round to my local and using that connection. It's just purely shocking and embarrassing for such a company to have such a poor and dire connection. I sure as hell would not recommend this company and looking at other reviews many other wouldn't either!!

I signed up to Talk Talk Broadband at the begging of August this year (2018) as a new customer. At the time I was promised a £75 Amazon voucher if I signed up on line. After signing up I received an email informing me that I had to wait for 90 days before I received the voucher. Almost 135 day later, still no voucher.
I contacted them again and again, they eventually said that it would take up to 60 further days as they need to open & escalate a claim. Just found out from a customer service manager that the claim needs to be closed as they no longer offer the voucher scheme, it was a 3rd party who offered this NOT Talk Talk.

So in short... no voucher on its way, no help from Talk Talk other than fobbing me off. Very very disappointed customer.

AND NOT EVEN ANY OFFER OF COMPENSATION

Hi there all fellow sufferers. I see I am not alone struggling with this new design useless TT mail.
After years of unusually problem free account holding here comes a problem overload along the new look email and oh boy what a piece of total crap it is indeed. As we all know by now, to log in you wait several minutes while the system is loading. And loading it does, well and properly for ages. Then you try and delete endless spam. Ok, the first row of ticked spam vanished into the spam box after around 3 minutes. The second row of ten sat there and did not go anywhere, but the ticks disappeared.I ticked them again, now beginning to swear just a bit. This time they went nowhere. This is happening every day and every time I try to clean up the inbox.I managed to delete all spam yesterday, but it took many long minutes. Today I cannot even open the spam box. This system is the worst under the sun and I am planning to leave. Rang TT yesterday fuming, and managed to speak to someone with ok English accent, which was the first. I asked for the day of my contract ending and was advised to call 30 days prior to that. I was in return asked the reason for wishing to leave, so I let her know in few chosen words...and received a slightly embarrassed' I am very sorry to hear that.' I am sure I was not the first one. I am thinking of moving to SKY if things don't improve but am not sure. We'll see. I found a message above my account details telling us that tonight, the 8-9th of Feb. the engineers will try to sort out the problems...We know how great the TT engineers are; very busy, always fixing something but never mending anything. My advice to all is:leave.
I cannot give zero stars so give only one.

using internet, since I signed up with you and a package that included a landline, the service has been awful, I have a monitor screen in a LG TV connected through the Ethernet and a cable from the box and port. The screen eventually allowed me access, however, it takes forever for the talktalk screen then the youview screen to go, I am supposed to have access to basic tv, I would have expected to be able to utilise the few tv channels such as bbc iplayer, itv, channel 4, and channel 5 ... nopt the bloody stuff you allow, some childrens channels and subscription. I am not interested in , I am interested in free tv.... basic... like back in the 1960's when you paid for a tv licence, and with now paying for the provision of broadband and wirless. the tv channels should be automatic ... when switching on, and off..... without having to wait ... whats the point of a speed in my internet when it takes so long to download the bloody start, whats the use of having a remote control when the bloody control cant access the specific channels - basic channels, why cant talktalk provide a decent - easy to access internet tv.... I choose 'guide' and switched onto bt sport x2 - bloody typical cannot get rid of it it remains on the screen now, I have no wish to pay extra of the sky and other 200 channels - that are ****

Don't touch this company with a Barge Pole. Forget any "good reviews" they're almost certainly provided by the 'company'. This service has progressively reduced to one of absolute horror, virtually unusable. My system is modern, lines etc; are good, just the crap I have to communicate with is the problem.

I don't know why people moan about talk talk, I have a brilliant deal with unlimited broadband, unlimited calls 24/7 to landlines and mobiles, all for £27 a month and if I have had to contact them, they have always been polite, knowledgeable and the problem resolved. I don't know my broadband speed but it seems pretty satisfactory - everything is instant. .

Please please please dont go with talk talk. I switched to them because my landline was originally theirs and they were the only company who were able to carry my number to a new address when I moved. I had "complete failure" for the 1st 2 months. Which meant I had no landline and no internet. Every time I phoned I was told to wait 48hrs to see if their updates had worked. I ended up with 3 BT engineers at my home who finally managed to liase with talk talk and get it sorted. They sent me 3 routers of which I only received 1. And charged me for the rest which I had to claim back. My call divert (which I use to receive important landline calls when I'm out of the house) has just "turned itself off". Ive spent hours on the phone for the last 2 days trying to have it turned back on which isn't working. Ive now been told to wait a further 5 days without landline to "see if it will start working". My online account hasn't worked since the start so I can't make changes or use the online features. And to top it off my faster broadband, now working, is slow and keeps pausing. On the plus, their staff are lovely. Shame their services don't work.

I have recently had the need to contact talk talk with various problems ,one of which I eventually solved myself. My complaint is that on two of these occasions, although they knew my phone number my email address and my voice is my password had been confirmed, the operator was talking about another customer.s account. On one occasion for nearly half an hour. I despair of the security process.
I am frequently losing my broadband. After the most recent contact I was asked for feedback on a questionaire, but having gone through hoping to have the opportunity to complain I was informed that I did not fit the criteria. I suppose being 85 excludes one from having either brain or a valid opinion.

NEVER experienced something so bad in my life ! Firstly we signed up as we moved out of our parents house we got told a engineer was coming out in 3 weeks time to fit the router ! We held in there for 3 weeks to get a text saying there were no need for a engineer and they had sent the box through the post for us to do ourself ! The router arrived 3 days later and came on but were slow at times , I rang back as we were supposed to receive a 100 pound voucher and they said the reason we haven't got one is because we hadn't fitted the router ourself I then told them I had and they went on to say well you haven't changed from another provider so you don't get one ( didn't say anything about either in small print or when signing up but ohh well ) . Then I got a letter through the post saying as of October 2015 the bill was going up 2.50 a month , and then they got hacked and I had 120 go out of my account and my mum had 650 ! And then I rang to speak to some one regarding the box not even working for over a week I were on hold 3 different occasions for about 5 minutes each , and on the phone for 1 hour and had another added extra on to my phone bill of 10.64 !! In the end I put the phone down on him and he rang me back ( he had to ask someone could he ring me back ) I asked to speak to a manager and he said there wasn't one at this time and then he had me unscrewing the box in the wall and shovering my fingers in it to still not work and them just say well there's nothing else I can do unless I send a engineer out and it's a 55 pound charge ! Am a young person working full time and paying all my bills with no extra money and can't efford a engineer therefore left with a 25 pound talk talk bill every month and I don't use it at all !!! YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED ....

If I could give these NO stars I would
STAY CLEAR OF TALK TALK they take money out your account when they feel like they want to, they took 2 months worth of bills then took a further 2 lots of £12.50 all in one month, there customer service is absolutely disgusting, vile intact they speak to you like crap, there broadband is shocking , I’m connected the seccond I walk out my living room it disconnected, only 2 items can be added at a time or nothing connects
You spend loads of money to be on hold for 30minutes to be answered and say we are closed when there not , £15 + for that phone call, there not helpful in the slightest
They are just liars and thieves, and to top it all of I finally leave to go with another company and they have the cheek to send a letter saying I have to pay a £60 leaving fee , well up yours talk talk you ain’t getting a penny of me, you need to be shut down completely

AVIOD THEM , DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY
YOU MAYSWELL FLUSH YOUR MONEY DOWN THE TIOLET

I must advise not to get with talktalk it is the worst broadband I have ever had in my life, the customer service is discusting! Don't be fooled by the price the catch is You have to pay upfront line rental which means you are tied in and if you was to move home they would make you get a whole new contract out! Believe that this has been the first review I have ever written as I am absolutely annoyed by talktalk I have to let everyone know that it is the worst!!!!!! Do not go with talk talk for the price it's not worth the hassle very poor connection and when you need them to fix it they wil take over a week fix it for a few days and it will drop again! Ee have very affordable prices which have better speeds

Initially the offer and price seemed a good deal. After 2 years using their service I can guarantee the following:
Many issues with the wifi. Horrible customer service.
As I have read in other reviews, it happened to me as well that once your current contract expires, they automatically enroll you to an standard package which is double your previous monthly plan. Unless you are aware of this, you end up paying loads more for the same service. This is obviously made on purpose. Which is a very bad practice.

When I initially called Talk Talk about changing provider I was told they would take care of everything.
That wasn't true, they didn't terminate my phone line contract with BT so I ended up paying for a phone line that I didn't have and had to organise that myself. Talk Talk customer staff were unhelpful and rude on that occasion, BT were also useless but that's only to be expected.
Internet cut off completely three times over the two years I had Talk Talk for days at a time, an engineer called to assess, the fault was at the exchange. No offer of compensation for the downtime.
When working speeds were good but the supplied router was unreliable and needed rebooting a few times a week.
I would advise people to avoid Talk Talk

Worst broadband ever. Moronic customer service and rediculously slow speeds.

It takes months (litirally months) to get anything sorted and then they stll manage to get it wrong.

But the worst thing was being lied to about which package I was entitled to and then finding out I couldn't be provided with it after all. I hate talk talk and hope they go out of business.

Switched from Sky to TalkTalk Faster Fibre broadband and calls few days ago.
Promised in their ad - "Minimum Guaranteed Line Speed will be 33.9Mbps (download)."
Ad - "Award-winning fibre with no mid-contract price rises and our 30-Day Great Connection Guarantee
Our award-winning Faster Fibre is totally unlimited, and comes with our game-changing Wi-Fi Hub. Perfect for lots of different devices, doing lots of different things online, all at the same time. Plus, we guarantee no mid-contract broadband price rises on all our plans."
The truth - download speed ~25Mbps.
One of their sales reps called me to ask if I am happy with my package. I said that the internet speed is not as fast as promised. Then the guy started beating around the bush with excuses like "you have too many devices connected", "when they are connected via WiFi this drops down the speed", "the game console is dropping down the speed". I said that the devices we have are not simultaneously connected to the internet. Then, more beating around the bush, that it depended on the area, on the cables, etc. Are they not checking the area and the types of cables if they are compatible?
We could not agree on the broadband speed. He then started pushing me to buy extra packages like virus protection, TV and telefone bundles.
I said that I don't want to pay for anything extra after which the representative began shouting at me.
So far I am very disappointed with the broadband speed and the customer service.

I'm absolutely furious with their customer service and how slow they are. I regret the day I was tempted to switch to them. I've cancelled my order 3 times already and I'm without internet for a week now because they block my previous supplier. Nothing is done quickly and smoothly like they've promised! I would not recommend their services. Stay away! It's costing me money, time and anxiety.

Speeds as low as 1.24mb/s on 'fast broadband'. Charged more than latest promotion rate for this service. Offered no discount on complaining unless I signed up to another contract. Tried to use their poor broadband speed to basically get me to upgrade to fibre. As if getting a poor service would make me want to pay for a more expensive one? Spent over an hour patiently explaining online but to no avail. If fibre is better I will do it via another ISP.

I wouldn't even give them 1 star if that was possible. Terrible service. Iv had rubbish internet for the last week and when I ring I just get an automated message that they are working on the phone lines and that they will be up and running at 3am. I pay 30 pounds a month for this service and they are completely rubbish. In addition I got a letter saying they can't reach me on my email and that I will be charged an extra 2 pounds per month for paper billing... yet I receive their promotional emails daily. Utter rubbish. Nightmare contract and would never renew. Roll on October when I can get rid.

Dreadful service!! I will not recommend talktalk to anyone ever, I've had countless phone calls to and from the customer service team to do with technical fault, I had the phone line and broadband a little over a month and I only signed up for the you view box 3 weeks ago. So because I want to cancel the TV they are telling me I have to pay £200 I am in shock!!! Terrible service I was in the phone for 1hr20min on hold I was just trying to tell them that I wanted to cancel... DONT EVER SIGN WITH THEM
