This company is disgraceful!! Charges higher then expected. Send bills that aren't yours and then sell debts which are fabricated to debt companies to try and bully you into paying when you have proof that it isn't your debt!! Steer clear of this company. They are complete fraudsters!!!

Very Bad customer care service.this is what happens when you don't look after your call center which are running from India.I am trying to get my refund of £114 pound for the line rental which was paid upfront when I placed the order last year.My biggest mistake to choose for TalkTalk over sky.I am still chasing this call centre guys from India-Talk Talk to get my refund.it's been one year since I made payment online by card and my payment gone missing but my Bank advised me that Payment was made.I don't know it's been 1 yr and I am still sending fax for for getting my refund.these call centres are pathetic the service manager was talking to me like he is king from India and doen't care if my £100 pounds gone missing.there is no courtesy by customer service manager to feel the pain I am going through.he was even not telling his name name properly but I got this first name right,he tells me it's Viraj Subb so please be aware of TALK TALK.Stay clear from this company.it's worst.

I would have rated zero star if I could.
Instead of training your customer service, to talk like roborts with constant meaningless "thank you, yes madam, no madam" I suggest TALK TALK improves their service, so it at least makes a logical sense.
Called in today, hi my internet is not working AGAIN. The customer advisor is trying to run security questions past me, I told him that I have changed my mobile number (this was not the first time I did this btw) and i also explained that the mobile number they have on the system is no longer in use. 10 mins later, I was told that a new router is going to be delivered to my address within 24/48h. I said, "ok can you send me a text when delivery is going to come, you dont expect me to stay at home 2 days and make sure you update my mobile number". We cannot update your number over the phone, you need to log in to the portal. Erm... my internet is NOT WORKING. This why I am calling you. The customer advisor "Sorry, we cannot update your details over the telephone. But we will call you in a few days, to ensure that everything is working fine".Eventually I ended up cancelling my broadband, and I will never go back that's for sure and would not recommend to anyone else.

The worse service we have ever subscribed to. We have had no Internet connection for over a week. We have repeatedly called, waited for hours on end, got cut off, complained on twitter, been promised a manger will call (never does), was promised a modem would be sent out. So no Internet connection and way to get a solution. Do not use their service, when you need help they won't give it you.

Unfortunately, in October 2013 I made a major mistake of changing my provider for broadband and telephone to TalkTalk, if you want to maintain a level of sanity, do not go anywhere near talktalk. They sell you one thing and charge you something else,Their customer service reps are completely incompetent, one of the most aweful service . Beware guys think million times before u get your service. i don't have internet in my house for about 18 days now. I have called then so many times but still the problem is there. I then had to wait two weeks for an engineers visit, who told me that the problem was caused by the signal being split going into the box, and that this was a common problem, and that I would need to get a signal booster because Talk Talk don't provide them. This possibility was never mentioned to me by Talk Talk.
RUBBISH Average speed 1.9MB, customer service really bad.Really rubbish service. Better to pay more expensive service but reliable.
This is the worst company I have every dealt with. I paid my bill including the phone line & broadband 1 year in advance on a discount rate & they are still charging my debit account a monthly charge for the broadband & I spoke to their customer service 10 times about this mistake but no response. As others have said on this forum, the customer service is absolutely appalling.

By far the worst internet provider i have ever used. Every other day at 12pm at midnight the internet drops for a good 25-30 minutes and ofcourse there is NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT at that time. Slow connection, non existant customer service, internet outages every 1 or 2 days. Disgusting, simply disgusting.

The stupid guy said the "supersafe boost is free shall I turn it on?" I said why not. Only to come back 15 months later to see they've been charging for it the whole time even though I never used it. I phoned them up to check the call recording they said they'll check it but they wouldnt tell me if they checked it or no. All they do is bluff bluff and talk about how I'm not gonna recieve it anymore, and a bunch of other crap you wouldnt believe.
You can clearly tell the customer service person is bluffing and lying sometimes. Once you spot them lying they won't admit they'll just say something like glitch.
Ever since I had the Talktalk, since 2011 or something, had problems with them all the time, slow speed. I was supposed to get 37MB/S speed but its never ever reached 30MB/S. Thats supposed to be thier "faster" speed. Once I spoke to them they said 20MP/S is "acceptable speed" so they wont look into it. Speed is only 2MBPS per device half the time with 7 devices.
GOODS: They're cheap when they offer discounts, I can't afford anything else its why im here. If I had money I wouldn't stay. In the end im paying cheap money (its a lot of money to me), then im getting crappy internet and crappy customer service.

Worst company I’ve ever come across. Do not go with them. They’ll manipulate you to believe their scam is legit!
2.1mbp average on internet, even tho they state 10mbp on average. NEVER.
DARK OR DHARL, Patrick, Jacob and Mike From complaint department & loyalty team lies to avoid situation / conflict. Poor poor poor. They charge you £2 extra to stop the no ID call without your authorisation and charges you extra. Took out fibre optic line after they promised it’ll be all fixed and will get the speed I want.........3 weeks down the line no internet.
Then they said no cooling off period.

Appallingly bad service from TALK TALK. I am moving home to a new build and, as the post code is not on their system, it was a case of "computer says no". What they could not manage over 4 days and telephone conversations lasting 6 hours, BT sorted out in 30 minutes. Never again.

TalkTalk were easy to setup with, and an engineer came in (for free) to set up the line. However, the speed we got was always on the lower end of their speed range. They said our speed would be between 7-17mbps, with a minimum of 5.8mbps. We regularly received 6-7mbps. When they raised the prices and we decided to leave for Plusnet (best offer at the time, and we could leave for free), they said we would not get a better speed, and tried to encourage us to stay if they could strike a deal. They couldn't match Plusnet, and since moving we now get on average 9-10mbps! Somewhere somebody wasn't telling the truth...so whilst they were okay, obviously they do control the line speed!

We decicided to try talk talk out after visiting u switch the price 18.45 pcm for up to 17mb sounded reasonable

My problem is my internet speed and stability from reading other customers reviews a lot of what they say is true also

The engineer from Kelly communications installed the service to the house he did not check the line for a dial tone his phone was broke lucky for me my farther 20 years experience working for bt checked the line and wiring around the house .

The cooling off period of 20 days starts from the day you booked the service on line after I was installed I had 3 days left of my cooling off period we phoned up to complain as we felt 3daya was not enough time review the service or time for the router to stablies the company try to upgrade is to fiber for a extra 8 pound a month saying that they promis better reliable speeds . I phoned the on the last day of my cooling off period and place a cancellation after 5 times in a polite manner asking to cancel they got the message . Now I have to give 30 days notice and I am out of this problem .

I would recommend going with a company like sky or virgin or maybe plus net. You pay more but you get better service

Don't make the mistake other have and learn from our complaints .

Broadband kept dropping so I called talktalk. The technical support agent made me follow his manual doing all the things Id already done, and when this didn't work he offered to replace router. He then told me I was paying way too much for an older package and advised me that a fibre optic package would be cheaper, so I signed up. 3 days later I recieced a broadband router, but 5 days later an email stating that my fibre optic was good to go once I did a few things in the house to set it up. Instructions given were for different equipment than mine. I phoned up customer support to ask if I needed another router or needed to do anything with the one I had. Customer support dis not know what this meant. After speakinv to 2 people I was transfered to technical support. I asked them if I needed a new router and what I needed to do, and this confused the girl because it wasn't a question in her manual. She kept asking if my broadband was faulty, and told me to reset my router. After 45 minutes I asked to be transfered to customer support to cancel my contract while in the cooling off period. She checked with a supervisor and said that she was not allowed to transfer me to customer support. Eventually I spoke to supervisor who told me that I could ignore the email as my new router would handle the fibre optic speeds, so I asked him why I was only recieving 25mbs. He said that they were optimising my line and next week I would be up and running at correct speeds, but the talk talk message board had a lot of threads from people not recieving their contracted speeds. I asked again to cancel the contract and he refused to transfer me. I then signed ip with another broadband provider and they sent a message to talk talk statinv that my service was ending. The next morning I phoned up customer support to cancel immediately, as the atart date for my new service was after the conclusion of my cooling off period with talktalk. He said rather than cancel today he would credit my account for the early contract ending fee and let it close on the 12th. He then offered to email the details as I was going abroad in less than 24 hours. 8 hours later I had not recieved the email so I phoned customer support again to ask what was happeninv. Nobody knew, but they transfered me to the loyalty department who agreed that this had been done. They said that an email had been sent to me this morning but that it takes 24-48 hours for an email to arrive. I explained thag emails should arrive in seconds and asked her to resend my confirmation email. She said that it is not possible to resend any emails as they had already been sent, so I asked her to cancel the contract immediately fpr my piece of mind. She stated that it was impossible to end the contract before the 12th (after the coolkng off period) but assured me that they would credit the ensuing charges even if their was no evidence for me to see. I then passed my wife to the phone but they abjectly refused to provide any doccumentation before we leave the country. When we explained that we were worried Bout talktalk takibg us to court the lady who called herself tracy told us tp "take us to court then". We've had a friend who had a nightmare with talktalk threatenkng legal action after a similar incident, so we will have to wait until we rsturn from Hungary to see if they kept their word, or if they try to charge us. Not happy with the level of service, or technical know how at all.

If there was an option for zero stars i would have clicked on that, because that is what I get for my hard earned £20 a month-NOTHING!!!!

The connection will go every 20 minutes every day, every 20 minutes. I have to travel to my parents house to use the internet to complete assignments, as I am a student.

I phoned up to get help on numerous occasions. At first I was told, I had to pay £60 for an engineer to come to mine- which i refused as the problem lies with them-why should I have to pay.

Then he offered to upgrade to fibre optics and add £7.50 to my bill every month. NO!

then he said okay what do you want me to do now?!!! I said sort my internet out!

Then I tried to cancel! tried to charge me £250!!!

I am disgusted with the service! it's like some type of con! Bloody day light robbery and I cant do anything about it!

The only positive is the phone line which seems good.

Well Talk Talk, the customer service is laughable and that is being polite. I signed upto talk talk on a 12 month contract and I notified them I wanted to cancel approximately 50 days before. However, I was told that I would need to cancel 30 days before the contract ends,I called to cancel again on 4th July so the contract should have been cancelled on 4th August. I called again as I noticed the internet was still active and much to my surprise they told me I did not cancel the contract and said it would now cancel on 4th september and I will need to pay for the month. I could not believe it was such a nightmare just to cancel a contract that should have been finished on 30 July

I've never had such poor broadband. Constantly dropping out, speeds when it does work are slow and their response was to send out a new and improved router...... which has actually made things worse!
I was attracted to TalkTalk by the cheap prices, but I should have stuck to the more expensive one I was with before that worked well.

Poor speed - not what I pay for. customer service is also poor, with their agents phoning at odd times of the day, in an hard to understand accent that is hard to recognise whether it is a scam (I have been scammed unsuccessfully) so am doubly careful about unidentified calls.

STAY WELL CLEAR!!! Whilst my broadband was never good the real complaint is the customer service department who are beyond useless. It took me from the 25th May -2nd August yes over two months to get my line fixed no phone no broadband. I paid my bills in this period as they said when it was fixed they would give me compensation - and like a mug I believed them. They offered me £5.06 compensation and I paid them £114.44 in that period. I have spent a total over 17 hours on the phone trying to resolve these issues and constantly chasing them up, waiting around for BT open reach to come and fix it. I have closed my account and gone to Truespeed.

The internet I’m opinion is not very good the speeds are decent but however as seen in my ratings the reliability isn’t to good. I mean the internet is good when it works but every 2 or 3 hour it goes terrible and sometimes switching off. Also you might of seen that I have rated the customer service bad this is because I have rung them a lot and all they tell you to do is restart the box repeatedly until it works overall I hate this internet provider and wouldn’t recommend it even if it is fairly cheap

This is a terrible company that desires to hold you to ransom to both tie your phone & cable contracts to your location and deliver faulty equipment that is not up to the job, a fault services department based in any other country that keeps you on the phone for hours and will only convince you that there is no problem and you need to spend money money on an upgrade or 50 quid on an engineer to replace the box,Avoid like the Mafia.

Totally disaster. Had no Internet for almost two month fault found underneath the telephone pole outside the property instead of compensating charge me £65. To justify this they changed master socket for no reason. Engineer came before passed master socket test and reported fault outside. Few months back they charge me £65 for the same problem.
    Bunch of robbers.

Talktalk throttle speeds during peak times which caused my 25mb speed to go down to as low as 0.5mb. I literally spent hours upon hours on the phone to them during which they either didn't listen, sounded bored or tried to charge me for new routers or engineer callouts.

I kept asking them if they throttle speeds and they kept either dodging the question or said no, after months of the exact same issue, there is no other logical explanation other than bandwidth throttling. The issue starts at 7pm and stays till 10.30 after which it always speeds up again. Conveniently enough their senior support staff leave at 10pm so you can't prove it whilst on the phone.

Avoid them like the plague unless you never need the internet during peak times and don't mind support staff that obviously don't want to be doing their job and are reduced to constantly reading out a script.

Worst internet ever, especially for a gamer, I can't watch a simple YouTube video without having to wait 5 minutes for it to load, although it's a two minute video, and I can't stay in an online lobby for more than ten minutes without being disconnected. Simply very frustrating and will be changing the second I get the chance.

I have been a customer of Talk Talk now for 6 years. Broadband has occasionally gone off for a few hours but has been restored without having to notify the company. I don't find this unreasonable I'm sure it happens on all networks.
Last week my broadband disappeared and it was clear there was something wrong.
I reported the fault and was put in contact with the call centre in India, the people there were extremely patient and helpful, I have to admit that they were at times a little difficult to understand but they did repeat things slowly until I did understand. I had two long sessions whilst they tested all manner of things and eventually it was concluded that there must be a fault in the equipment in my home. I was told that an engineer would be sent and an appointment was made as soon as possible. Several text messages were sent to keep me up to date with what was happening.
The engineer arrived exactly as promised and sorted out the fault.
I would just like to say that I found all the staff I dealt with to be extremely polite and caring. It was annoying to be without broadband for a week but I don't run a business from home or anything so no great harm was caused.
Personally I would recommend Talk Talk to anybody I think they are a very genuine company.

A shocking company - PLEASE AVOID.
I never received any internet or phone line. I cancelled within the 20 day cooling off period. Yet they are still trying to Bill me even though I have received previous letters showing 0 balance. Now they are saying the 20 days is from when I first ordered online - rubbish.
The customer service is actually the worst I have ever received. Currently I have spent 6 hours on live chat over 4 nights to to sort an engineer and cancelling. When I rang up they said I have no account lol. The engineers only rang me 2/3 days later after I cancelled. Luckily I have records of all the conversations as they have tried so hard to charge me different monies for a service I had never received and different dates to try and go passed the 20 days cooling. DO NOT TRUST.

I ordered the the broadband before I read the reviews in sept, I thought oh great, I got the upgrade for the same price as the lower one, but apart from open reach coming with the the wrong equipment which delayed it for a day it's been running perfect, fingers crossed, no complaints yet

Customer Service of Talk Talk is unbelieveably poor, after spending the past three days on the phone with them, each day I called and was told something completely different than the day before, they gave me 4 different prices for the same broadband package. I really felt they were trying to rip me off, I even started recording the calls. I have never experienced such unprofessional, untruthful customer service.

talk talk are the worst company to ever go with. we have been with them since jan 2015 back in kent it was ok then but now moved to north west and have had nothing but trouble with it since.we have had 3 lots of engineers come out and all 3 of them were no help and said it was all working but it was not work at all.this has been going on now for 1 month and 2 weeks can still not working.if any was to ask me if they should go to talk talk i would tell them they would have more luck trying to get a dog to talk then getting help from talk talk they dont care about there customers.we have had severar calls with them which have coast us a bit of money.
