    Rainfall are getting to he blame here but they are definitely hindered by Openreach, who seem to have a fibre supply to every green telephone box in the area except ours!

    The broadband router died 3 days after installation and we were left with no internet for home school and home working during lockdown. They then insisted on making us return the faulty equipment, when of course it should be their responsibility to collect it rather than ours to package it up and return it. However I did so exactly as they requested. But 2 and a half months later I get a letter requesting proof of postage. I guess that a lot of people would not have kept the postage receipt for this length of time and would have received a bill for lost equipment. Luckily, I did still have mine. To add further annoyance, the letter contains no email address to send the proof of postage to, which is obviously the most convenient method. It also contains no phone number via which an email address could be requested. To date the situation has still not been resolved. So far I have endured months of inconvenience and expense arising from their faulty equipment and awful customer service. It really seems like any little thing they can make life more difficult for the customer, they will do it. I would urge anyone to avoid TalkTalk at all costs.

    I have been a Talk Talk customer for over 10 years,dating back to the Pipex years in fact. Judging by lots of other poor reviews of Talk Talk, you may wonder why I have been such a loyal customer and haven't yet switched to another provider.
    Well my own general experience with Talk Talk has been pretty good.
    I have twice before attempted to switch to another provider like Plusnet because of a cost package being offered by Plusnet, however both times I was retained by Talk Talk because they offered me a deal which actually bettered the Plusnet deal being offered, obviously you need to contact Talk Talk get the better deal.
    Talk Talk freephone customer service is one of the fastest response to a real person that I have experience with any company not just broad band. I've phoned up about 3 separate times this week to check some details of my new package, each time my call got answered by a human almost immediately after the short automated menu system.
    Each time my call has been dealt with politely and effectively.
    So as far as customer service over the phone goes, it's pretty good right now, and certainly better than 2 recent experiences that friends and family have relayed to me about Virgin Media, they both said they had to wait almost half an hour to get to speak to someone on their customer service line!
    As far as speed broadband goes, it seems
    my ADSL speed is hampered by my BT exchange, so can't get the best speeds regardless of what Talk Talk could provide, so for now I can not rate Talk Talk with any great authority, but for my current needs it's okay.
    Over the long time I have been with Talk Talk I can only recall about 3 times that I have reported a fault with the line, and on each occasion Talk Talk sent me a text to say that an engineer was dealing with the fault at the local exchange and would inform me when the engineer had fixed the fault.
    On each of the these occasions the fault was fixed usually within 24 hours of reporting the fault to Talk Talk, so again it was pretty good service.
    Talk Talk also have a community forum where you can discuss broadband issues or router problems etc, On this forum you can report an issue with your router, I did this recently (In March 2021) and within 2 days of posting my router issue I was sent a brand new router postage free.
    So overall I'm quite impressed with Talk Talk, given the fact that pretty much all the big rivals (BT, Plusnet Virgin etc) all have some issue of one kind or another.....no ISP is perfect.
    To sum up, If you are looking for good prices, pretty good customer service (in my experience anyway!) and don't need the very fastest broadband available, then I would give Talk Talk a go.
    Surely I can't be the only one that has had good experiences with Talk Talk?

    please read this trustpilot review before joining TalkTalk.

    TalkTalk are by far the worst company I have had to deal with.

    There help desk in South Africa is useless - it took one of them 10 minutes to take down my postal code. I have absolutely nothing against South Africans but they cannot understand my Yorkshire accent and trying to deal with them is a pain.

    After dealing with this company I have to say that they have no care at all they do not want to help.

    When you sign up you get an English person talking to you in English and they're very helpful and all friendly and cheery. Until something goes wrong then there's disaster because none of them are interested in the slightest.

    I have spent 7 days trying to get through to these people and no one wants to listen they are absolutely hopeless.

    I have left 36 messages on their CEOs phone which always goes to answerphone, no one answers. No one listens to the messages or contacts you about your concerns.

    They even got my address wrong they seem to think that I live at house number 0 on my street. This is an impossibility as house numbers in the UK start at number 1 and go up from that. I suppose they are to be congratulated in that they actually got the correct street name.

    In a few words THIS COMPANY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS.

    Do yourself a favour don't join talk talk you will regret it if you do. All will be good when you join but the moment you have problems they just don't want to know.

    Please read what I have said above and go to another provider not TalkTalk - this is a totally independent review I have no affiliation with TalkTalk whatsoever.

    No internet at home for a full day, support (barely speaking English and working from home you can ear the background noise) just reading script and not asking relevant questions make you loose even more time and leave you with a non solved problem.
    This company needs to be shut down.

    My “guaranteed” fixed price contract has just been increased. Apparently they can do this if they give you 1 months notice by email, I did not receive an email from them. The service is rubbish, if I leave the room where my router is situated my signal drops to one bar so its useless around the house. I have regular disruptions to the service and my tv is buffering regularly. To slap me with an unannounced price hike (which they guaranteed would not happen) for such a poor service is disgraceful. I will strongly recommend to anyone that they stay clear of this lot and I myself will be pleased when my contract is up.

    DO NOT EVER USE TALK TALK!! As an elderly person who has been the main carer for their husband with dementia over the past 6 years, I had not realised until recently that they were taking two direct debit payments of +£75 and + £60 per month for the past +5 years. Unbeknown to me, I had two talk talk accounts but was only using one phone and broad band line. They were also charging me for media which I was not aware of. They clear take advantage of vulnerable elderly people which is criminal. Also their customer service is appalling. Each time I called them to find out why I was paying close to £140/month for phone and broad band, they would end the call, stating they would call me back but they never did. On one occasion I spent 3 hours calling them back. Use another more reputable telecommunications and broad band provder.

    They have taken over £60 a month from my account, spence October 20 l have my landline and broadband, l should be paying about £29. A month, l l want them to put the money they were not entitled to back into my account, l have been on the phone to them and can't get anywhere , they are thieves.

    AVOID AT ALL COST. Years of business and domestic custom, always some explanation of why the connection is unstable and low bpm. Unannounced additional charges. They do not provide what is in their contract but still charge you the money, rip you off and lie to you that everything is looking good from their end. Greg

    Unfortunately I have just renewed my contract with TalkTalk. The actual broadband speed is appalling. So called I them engineer came to check it out. Said we cannot have many devises connected as will effect our 15mbps on a good day speed. Just had a £40 bill for the privilege of the useless engineer....So we are to take turns on the internet....mmmm... do not trust them despicable useless company, they have just lost myself and all the other family as customers. Keep it up talktalk NO customers no talktalk ace......

    I’ve subscribed to talk talk this January.
    Ever since, my internet speed dropped and it makes almost impossible video calls or regular streaming.
    Spent well over 2hours, wasted time, chatting with customer service, running tests and the conclusion was I have to pay for an engineer to come over and check the issue or pay if I brake the contract...
    Disgusting..I don’t recommend this company at all!

    AVOID worst ever .tHEY continue charging even after contract expired and anothere person had brodband connected in new name with new number. Engeniers visited address and did manual disconect and then connected new line.when contacted online i was told i need to cancel even if contract expired and i can`t do it online. I haVE TO CALL ON PHONE.CANCELATION TAKE 30 DAYS FOR WHICH THEY CHARGE YOU EVEN WHEN THEY DO NOT PROVIDE ANY SERVICE TO YOU. so if you do not look at your bank statments they will continue to still your money untill you figure it out and after you do they will charge you for another 30 days to kill your account ( their words kill the account) do not take it escalate complain .It is criminal what they get away with.

    Literally the WORST customer service team I have encountered. Absolutely useless - not one person has any idea of what they are doing there and just send you around in circles. Every single one spoke shockingly poor English so it was hard to even understand where they were passing the buck to next. They literally just send you around in circles and you are basically a prisoner of TalkTalk once you have entered into a contract. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

    I have never dealt with such an awful company. I strongly recommend not to take out services with TalkTalk unless you want a lot of headache or stress. The internet did not work, I had to speak to someone via chat every week, they never stored my notes so I had to constantly repeat myself. One employee actually told me that it was obviously our 4 phones, 2 laptops, TV and other devices that weren't working - not their internet. The speed dropped down to 6mbps which is a breach of contract, but they still tried to charge me £40 for a booster and when I wanted to leave, £150 leaving fee. I was assured this would be dropped after speaking via chat for 2 hours to someone, only to still receive the bill a month later. I have never dealt with a company like this. You can't speak to anyone, it is extremely frustrating. I moved to BT and they have been completely hassle free.

    Talk Talk is the worst internet service provider ever, probably you get better internet in some third world countries than in the Manchester, UK from Talk Talk. Keep disconnecting, very-very slow, unreliable . Customer service is non existing.

    I really do not understand "HOW" when you have signed up to a "FIXED PRICE CONTRACT" your provider can "HIKE" the cost of your service less than 6 months into your 18 month term and with a "TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT" attitude that frankly stinks, to then blame this rise on kids home schooling due to Covid absolutely shameful.
    What I find absolutely galling though, if as a new customer you sign up for a new contract you get a gift card which when taken from the overall monthly cost of their service means said new customer is actually paying less than a customer who finds themselves in the same position as I now find myself in, i.e paying for said "Gift Card"
    Here is a suggestion "TalkTalk" by all means offer new customers incentives to sign with you but not at the expense of existing customers, in this way you may find your customers will actually stay with and recommend you rather than spending their time looking for alternative providers. I for one cannot wait to get away from you now, your Customer Service is wanting to say the least.

    Generally average - reliability is probably the worst aspect of using TalkTalk for broadband. There are regular outages, more so than other providers I've used in the past.

    Speeds are average, coverage/range is okay (though we've switched to our own Mesh System to cover three floors) and customer service had generally been lackluster when we've needed it.

    The only positive is that there service was reasonably cheap when we signed up. I guess you get what you pay for...

    The broadband speed and reliability is excellent. But, and it is a big but, their customer service is awful. I have a 18 month fixed price contract, but talktalk have increased the monthly charge. Their customer agent could not understand what fixed rate meant. They could only suggest that I could cancel the contract. But I only have a limited time, otherwise there is a cancellation fee. Best avoid this company. There are more honourable companies out there.

    Overall, Talktalk can get pretty slow most of the time. I planned to switch to sky but I don't have the money :(. Whenever I called Talktalk to complain, they never pick up, and my laptop would always take at least 1 minute to do anything, whether it's dowloading, searching or playing videos. Saddened...

    Talk Talk was supposed to install - BUT instead they have
    ABUSED me in my own safe space - Their so called engineer and I almost got into a fight because he insisted in moving a book I keep on the floor. Before you ask it had nothing whatsoever to do with the installation. I have written and talked to them more times than I've had hot tea. Bizarely the actual MODEM they sent me is still here in my house UNOPENED because their lying so called engineer did not compete the job. I repeat the MODEM is still here ( they did ask me to send it back but why would I do that?) Also the dismantled box in my living room is just as the lying engineer left it over a year ago. ON top of this they keep sending me what they macarbely call payment updates. Talk talk is **** and so are their managers and the so called engineer they sent to harASS and frighten me. STAY away from Talk Talk and if you must be sure you have a witness when their so called engineer comes knocking on your unfortunate door.

    Unreliable and slow internet, expensive compared to other providers - definitely not the best deal you can get out there. Customer support staff are some sort of back alley operation in another country who are under orders to waste as much of your time as possible. Recommend you avoid!

    takes 2 months to cancel. company is not contactable by any reasonable means. staff are flea market material. absolutely no concern for the customer. any chance they get they disconnect the online chat, calls. ignore letters. force you into cancelling your bank to protect your income. i am contacting trading standards watchdogs to give them a case to answer. people shouldnt deal with this company. terrible!!!!

    Appalling service, appalling company. Booked the day off work to install broadband. No one came. Had to book another appointment days later. No one came. Customer service was outstandingly bad I am still without broadband with no compensation or reassurance the service I'm paying for will ever be installed. I was told I couldn't speak to management and that they apparently couldn't even send an email. Never been involved with a company that is so incompetent.

    Appaling people never use them. Left property a year ago. cancelled the account. told to leave line 'open' for next customer. then continue to charge me as the new owner cant set up an account due to lock down. numerous complaints made, which they refuse to acknowledge as they got my name wrong on the account. now tryin to argue that as I left the account open they are entitled to charge me up till now even though I sold the property and moved out 13 months ago, cancelled by phone within 20 days (as very difficult to contact them) , raised complaints at 5o days and continued to complain to the current day

    THE WORST!!

    We signed up for talk talk and got absolutely no internet. We called so many times and each call takes at least 2 hours being passed on to so many different departments and no-one knows what the situation is.
    Eventually we spoke to someone who was actually bit helpful and she agreed to cancel our contract early and issue us a refund (which we never received)

    2 months after I thought I would never have to speak to anyone at talk talk again I receive an email THREATENING TO SEND DEBT COLLECTORS AND PUT OUR NAME ON A CREDIT FILE!
    Now we are trying to get this bill cancelled as we don't owe them money. We never received a service. We have lost money by using them.
    No-one is helping us!
    DO NOT USE TALK TALK!!! RUN RUN RUN!

    Not good, I will finish my being with Talktalk in June and I will be looking for another provider.
    I ended up with them trying to steal £30 from me for "my not being in for a service engineer" ...a long story but they were wrong and after my telling them that my cctv camera did not record any engineer visit...they refunded my £30 charge....without an apology. I spent hours talking with them and spent more hours searching my cctv footage so that I could prove my point.I am disgusted with them.

    I signed up to TalkTalk on 15th December, to go live on 16th Feb. As of the 15th I still hadn't received my router or a tracking number for Yodel to check it's status, so I contacted live chat for an update.

    They told me that my router was on it's way and could arrive up to 6pm on the 16th.

    It's now the 16th, so I got back on to live chat to follow up as nothing received yet. After 30 minutes on a chat I'm then told, and I quote:

    "Thank you for staying on the chat looking into the account the order was set to be live on the 16-02-2021.However there was a external delay on the line at the cabinet exchange.I have checked the order and it's delay with line plant record team and I have escalated to the team and please check back on 18/02/21 the order will be progressed and once the order will will than dispatch the router and book an new engineer appointment."

    In short, they can't even tell me when my service will go live till the 18th when they may or may not send me my router!

    DD cancelled as of tonight so they can't take any money and writing this while on live chat to their cancellations dept (retentions) who are taking so long to reply to each message that I have time to do so!

    Worst service ever.

    The biggest scam I could imagine.
    They took my money even after I changed supplier. They mislead me on the finishing date of contract so now I have to pay extra for those days. Had problems one after another with broadband and router. They couldn't fix any of them. If I somehow got the guaranteed speed off it lasted for maybe few minutes a week. Had tons off problems while contacting them. Never got a proper answer on any off my questions and it's quite hard to contract them. Even I you managed to do so the previous talks or chats like they never existed so I had to go over and over again through the same thing just to deal with one problem just to get another one and had to start all over again
