    Sky Broadband & Openreach connections.
The real life Mrs Brown's Boys
Sky Irish call centre in Dublin arranging connections with Kelly Communications contractors for Openreach.
Kelly's boys can not communicate with the sky customer because they think we need them and they are king.
Well the sky customer is king so after two lost days and still no connection it's good bye to Kelly's boys and good bye to The Irish Sky boys in Dublin for me.
Time for a new tablet then down to the local pub to surf the net and watch sky free....they are people who really want your custom.

    Awful, awful, awful.
I would recommend Sky to people who are lonely and like the idea of being on the phone for 45 minutes every other day for a month trying to sort out installation problems. Especially if you like talking to people who have no understanding of what has been discused previously as they work in different buildings and information is not passed on.
It took us a month to get our internet sorted and even then the 'fibre optic' speed was slower than under my old contract. I will be leaving as soon as my contract allows.

I am most impressed with Mickey from OpenReach who sorted out a mess today 21 March done by another engineer (not OpenReach)
He was dedicated coming twice (it getting late the first day) and sorted everything my wife were expecting

Having been with BT for a number of years, took the plunge and went for a Sky deal. We are based in rural Norfolk, so I was worried changing from BT would be a mistake, but I was wrong! Our speeds have been so much better, sitting at around 11mb, compared to 5mb. We are now at then end of our year contract and I have only had to call them once during that time as we had a couple of days of drop outs. The customer service centre was fabulous and all was sorted. Now going to sign up for another year as confident in their products.

Having checked speed and found to be 0.24-0.39 Mbs DL (not fibre) expected up to 6mb!! contacted Sky, most helpful with all -- checked line OK, changed filters, re-booted, changed cord from router to master socket. Zilch!! On phone (mobile) for half hour plus going over the same things. At last managed to get an engineer appointment 2 weeks from now. Very helpful but pointless exercise. Unable to tell me what speed I should get for what I pay! Overall sympathize with customer service agent but after the test could not understand why loathe to send engineer. Seems to think something wrong with set up internally. However, same set up for last ten years and only discovered very slow speed when trying i-player and that kept buffering - has worked ok before. Sky are sending new filters and router cable. Fingers crossed or will be looking to switch but will give them a try.

I am told that the cabinet nearest to me (about 100m away) is FTTC enabled and yet the maximum speed I can get is 1.3Mbs. Why is this?

The line speed is very poor in spite of there being continuous habitation between my location and the local BT exchange. How such a poor service to so many customers can be justified defies logic and BT say there is no intention to do anything about it in the near future. There is a FTTC within 100m of my house but how to access this is not known and connection to this would improve speeds greatly. In this day and age it is difficult to justify such poor service to so many households on any grounds whatsoever.

I switched from BT some time ago. It was an improvement but broadband speed is still poor. I find on the internet that the cabinet to which my phone line is connected is FTTC. Is there a reason why this should not enable a better service to be provided? If so how can I go about it?

Holy fish ultimately slow and unstable internet connection. In terms of the frequency the connection would be disconnected once per half an hour, fluctuate speed once per 10 seconds.

Barely cannot even watch Youtube. And, in addition, unbelievably human movement would interrupt Wifi connection

So i've just moved into my new place, and there's sky provided by the landlord. It's unbelievable slow and all i'm doing is browsing the internet .. luckily i left my gaming stuff up north. Furthermore, the connection keep getting cut out randomly. I've managed to persuade the landlord to change it and get virgin media (thank god!).

stay away or you will regret it. don't try to safe a few quid, it's not worth it.

If I could give ZERO star, I will. Customer service advisors are very rude. You will be extremely lucky to come across a polite one. They all need training.
Very impossible to escalate complaints to managers. It's like they are not even there as they are never available. Not surprised.
Promise of call back that never happens.
    Absolutely disgusting company.
I doubt the staff gets continous trainings as they behave and speak with no emphaty, they don't listen, they don't ask the right questions and can't even resolve. They interrupt and peak to you very rudely while hiding behind the phone.
You will feel worse after speaking to them compared to before calling sky.
Customer service is shocking and absolutely rubbish.
All noisy at the background and you will hear them laughing so loud like baberians as well as playing and that makes it difficult to talk or focus on the reason for your call. They speak to you grumpily and sometimes you feel like they have food in their mouth while attending to you.
They are so ignorant that they do not realise that you can still tell they are rubbish even on the phone. They think been on the phone can carmoflag them.
Very rude people and you just wonder how you find yourself doing business with such a disgusting company.

Safe yourself some stress and take your money elsewhere. Your mental health is very important and not worth sky and it's quack customer service.

Signed up to sky on the 13th of October with the 2 years free broadband deal. Waited a week and no router so I rang SKY, for them to tell me I only signed up for TV...After an hour of them trying to sell me some kind of internet deal that would cost an arm and leg I decided to cancel it all together. Then they made me pay a further £10 pound for the service I had received GREAT! So I have an appointment made for the box to be collected and my service is running fine, until 1 minute before the football started tonight and then they decided to stop my service! I wonder If that’s because I signed up with the sports package and they want to wind me up? Well I will never join sky again you MUGS!

Been with them since February 2013 and speed has been an issue, paying for 7mbps and only getting less that 1mbps, even on off peak.I was fed up complaining, Phoning and commenting of the help form.I have got no where. Every time i complained it was with someone new, And i had to explaining my self over and over and over. Than the would ask if i did all the checks, I told them where to go.What i found out was BT wholsale is main supplier and other company's, Sky, TalkTalk,EE all only get so much bandwidth. Ive been paying £30 a month for 8 moths for nothing. I am now leaving them to go back to BT.

I highly recommend not switching to Sky. Their customer service is pathetic. I have been without internet for a week because initially they do not take their calls, then when they do they give incorrect information. I was told an engineer has to come and fix the line but I do not need to be home as it is an external fault. Then the engineer called me to say he needed to come in the house when I was not home. Then I had to arrange another appointment where they said the engineer would come between 1 and 5 PM on a Saturday, so I cancelled all my weekend plans for that and the engineer did not show up.

Now I have been without internet for over a week. And they will also not refund the week's fees because they say I am only paying for the line rental not the broadband. So they can theoretically cut off the internet and still not reimburse me.

Absolutely shambolic, Sky are thieves, do not ever subscribe to their service.

With a connection that is a tenth of what the company is advertising and have informed me that I could obtain this is very poor however the issues are due to line quality which rests entirely with BT who dispite thier billions have still to invest in fibre optics as promised some 12 years ago.

I would not recommend to anyone. As somebody said before - thieves!!I have been with them for a while and then started not having connections very slow speed...etc... after so many calls to them I cancelled my contract, everything was supposed to be sorted and the last payment was supposed to be taken in May. They took money in June....
Waiting on line for 40 mins to speak to someone who said can`t help!
    This company is a joke!!!!!

Ever thought of switching your interest broadband provider? Don't. ANYTHING is better than sky. I cannot emphasize the pain I feel using this internet, I'd rather be on Plusnet. I'm not entirely sure what they have done to this internet because if you use a speed tester on your phone you will get decent results, on or above average the promised speeds. But as soon you get off the speed tester and actually USE the internet it takes 4-5x longer than mobile data and it regularly detoriates to even slower speeds. When watching a video the quality will change in accordance to the poor level of internet and will buffer often. Loading simple games, websites and apps takes minutes and at times the WiFi will just loose connection to the internet temporarily for a few minutes which is very frustrating when doing online based tasks. Since taking the contract I have majoratively used mobile data on home and even my hotspot is faster. The overprotective security setting that it comes with means that almost everything is blocked till 9 and even if you call to get it removed it will take 10 years because the customer service moves as slow as their wifi. It'S like a mortgage bond, high rates but full of ****. Never buy

Changed broadband and line rental to Sky 12 months ago. Very poor to start with, then ok for a few months. Router blew up over winter yet sky insisted it was ok and that it was a line fault. When BT said otherwise Sky sent a new box. Have recently given Sky 1 month's notice that I'm cancelling and all of a sudden my Internet speed has dropped to .2mb/s when it actually works. It will take up to 5days to resolve however I'm not holding my breath; I suspect that this will last until my new provider takes over. I've now cancelled everything with Sky.

Sky like to take your money for absolutely nothing.
The broadband is patchy and not very strong.
    Their communication is shocking.
They bill in advance, so when I cancelled I gave 28 days notice before the next bill to be sure they wouldn't take any more money from me.
Instead they billed me double for the month in which they were providing no services at all only to refund it a month later plus the £13 I was owed from unused services.
    Utterly pointless
When trying to solve the problem Adam and Dawn from customer services were also useless the mere repeated lines of 'can't do that'.
    Never use this service.

Recently had my sky fibre broadband drop out, did the regular checks before i called them. Engineer dispatched and had no idea what was wrong (new sky hub ordered @ cost to me)to find it was not the hub), then cut off 3 times in consession to customer services, also stung for £37 for calling their 08 number, to be told we will call you back ,your case has been escalated ?
Disgusting after 8 years of business ,and we have the full package too ,tv,phone, fibre broadband,@ near £100 per month for all those years, & they are prepared to lose custom like this , all loyalty aside they are dropping their standards to a huge degree, and if i was looking for new business i would be looking else where. Sorry sky you dropped the ball

Been with Sky for 6 years, they service has gone down hill, the broadband regularly drops out. Had to take 1 days leave for BT Openreach engineer to resolve problem. Was told problem was resolved. This did not spoke with Sky as I have limited annual leave. Wasn't interested could only offer Mon-Fri appointment even though I had already take 1 days leave. I know they are able to offer Saturday appointments, as I have a friend who works for Openreach. Do not go with them, only sticks to script cannot resolve complaint. Oh yes told me my complaint falls outside their complaints policy so they cannot log my complaint???? A joke of a company.

Awful customer service, rude arrogant. Consistent lies, I know about IT and network speeds as I work in the IT industry myself. When reporting issues with speed I was told it is our problem deal with it. complete refusal to do anything, so at the moment we are paying £45 a month for half the speed we should be getting. Soon as contract is up, we will be leaving for another provider. Shockingly bad!!!

Had been with o2 home broadband which was a dream. Perfect connection, had the full 7.5Mbps speed, not a single problem whatsoever. And then o2 decided they want to focus more on the telephone sector so they decided to sell their broadband firm to sky; biggest mistake o2 has ever made. Since the move i had to renew my contract which was the same price as o2 so didn't complain about that. So the new router came set it up, during the first week everything went fine then all of a sudden there were sudden internet cuts, broadband speeds barely touched 4Mbps. It turned into a nightmare. Customer service was awful too, their staff show no experience or proper training whatsoever.
O2 please buy back your broadband service, what were you thinking selling it to sky?

I had a full package of Sky with broadband and TV including sports and family. As I didn't have a good experience through out the year so as my contract was finishing I called them to cancel my subscription when my contract finishes but they said its 35 days to my completion of contract and I have to call them within a month. I said ok and called them after 2 weeks and now they say that I must be having Sky for another 31 days as they need a 31 days notice for cancellation. I said I am moving to a new place would Sky be able to install this system for the next 31 days for me at my new place and they said no because I have just asked for cancellation. I wonder why am I paying this extra 31 days bill when I won't be able to watch Sky or use its internet. I'll pay the 31 days rent now for nothing just because I didn't call them exactly one month before the finish of my contract. Giving customers such a narrow window to call on a particular day is a way of robbing them.

Don’t know where to start from.As joining them on the 6th of December and having a credit check in they’re Manchester City centre branch I got told that the Sky Glass package & broadband with phone line shall start working on the 10 or 12th of December 2023.I told them that I was going to leave abroad for work but my wife and kids will be home to take the delivery. On the day of delivery the sky glass Tv came and when it got put out the haulier being known as Panther, their driver said Oh theyres no stand & we can’t put it out so I suggest I’ll take the Tv back and leave a note for Sky & you’ll get it delivered in about 48hrs or something. My wife going along with it thinking that it would get delivered let them take the Tv and the 3 multi room pods too.About 4 days later I get an email saying that we cancelled the contract by sending the Sky Glass back.As having the contract in my name nobody could speak to them but me due Data Copy act etc. Anyways as Christmas was approaching there was no broadband or Sky Tv at home.So I called them from abroad and including the wait time the call cost me £90 as I was calling from my phone as Sky couldn’t call me abroad. Anyway I was told to take another contract out and would have another credit check done again.Let me add that whenever any company makes a credit check whether it being a soft check as they put it 20 points get deducted off your credit score. Now that being 40 taken off I get told that your good to go and everything shall be delivered on the 22.12.23.It was an all day delivery & when my family waited and waited and at around uk std time of 6pm my wife rang me up to find out as it hadn’t been delivered.I made a call again to find out that it had been cancelled because I was so called sent an email which I was to sign and I didn’t receive it so hence the contract had to be cancelled.I was so furious and now out of £90 in calls plus the earache of hearing the wife and the kids for spoiling they’re Christmas. Anyways I came back in January and had to get a 3rd credit check done on me and signed up a third time. The date for delivery which was given this time was the 10th of January 24,on the day of delivery they didn’t have the screws for the stand again.Which wanted me to bang my own head against the wall, how incompetent can a big company be??. Anyways I called Sky again to be told them of the situation, but this time I didn’t send the Tv back as I got told that someone would come again by them and Panther hauliers whom they use and will sort the screws out.Come the following evening I get told that someone will come tomorrow to collect the Tv again.I was outraged to get my head around how these people work and run such a big multinational company. Keeping my cool I replied back to that email and got sent a message that that’s a standard message and they will know on that notes what to do.When they tried sending the sky glass the second time I got told that the company who come to set it up being Panther have spare screws and bits and pieces to sort small issues out and I should have told them to sort it out before they leave.Anyways the following day two more guys turn up and again they don’t have the screws & were told that they’re here to pick the Tv up.I had to explain to them again & they left saying to speak to Sky again. In between I made several calls to Sky to get this sorted out.So on Friday which has passed being the 12th of January 2024 someone came again to say that he didn’t have the screws and that we should call Sky again. My wife told them my husband will be very annoyed and will end up throwing that Tv outside including the equipment and told him of the ordeal of what we have gone through to which he said let me check and see if I have spares in the van.Luckily he found some and fixed the stand and we finally got to watch some Tv after a month and a few days.In between when my wife rang up to tell me that he didn’t bring the screws again I called Sky and spoke to someone & asked him that i wanted to speak to a senior supervisor for all the headache which I took and should be compensated to which he sounded half stoned and offered me a measly £15?So is that what Sky values it’s Customers time and values them at?I’m absolutely vexed at myself for taking this contract out and then being messed about so much.I got a phone call this evening by the same guy who offered me the same £15. They can keep the £15 as being in business if your customer is not happy with the way they’ve been dealt with then it’s not really a good or healthy business relationship. And i don’t like to do business with people whom I feel that don’t respect me or my business.Looking at the negative reviews plastered here just shows that Sky doesn’t care about its customers and when I would tell them about my experience then saying u feel for me but doing the opposite to me doesn’t help.Hope that ppl will learn & avoid joining sky & not make my mistake.

absolutely disgusted by the customee servuce provided by sky. My internet and sky has not been working for the last five weeks someone was meant to come and visit to resolve the problem and till date no one has been. Then they expect mw to pay my bill for the services I haven't had. I am absolutely shocked to say how awful sky has been after been with sky for many many years absolutely disappointed and disgusted the way I have been treated. Calling sky for days and no one is able to speak as there is no one who would speak due to my bill not been paid I refusw to pay sky for the services I have not been provided with.

Most miserable 2 years of internet I've had. Constant days of connection coming and going like London rain. When I wanted to cancel for that reason they asked an extra cancellation fee... For all their hard work of not working.

And in the same call they tried to sell me upgrades with money back guarantees.

How about you provide a service worth staying for in the first place? Instead of trying to sell me a deal when I want to set your building on fire.
