Just had a blazing row with Talktalk. They took over Pipex for our business phone. Said we need do nothing. Next thing they've cut the phone off saying we haven't paid. We see the money still going out to pipex. spend over two separate hours getting pushed around from pillar to post. Phone put down us . Out of sheer frustration changed supplier - now they are trying to charge us £300 cancellation fee. Notice they've been red hod in chasing that up though.

It's a shame, the telephone & broadband service are just like any other basic packages on the market but sadly they seem to suffer from poor customer services & a lack of communication. I have had a number of issues with them & they have never been sorted out properly & one being I had 2 payments taken from my bank account to which the promised to return the funds in 14 days, this never happened so I had to turn to the bank to reclaim the charges. I have also had an awful lot of cold calls from them altering packages which they say will benefit me, I have found out today they had miss informed me of a change made. They phoned me from India & told me after they have looked through my account I would have a significant saving with my current profile but this was contradicted by there representative in the UK who told me there was no benefit at all looking from my past profile but stopped short of agreeing it was miss sold to me but said he was sorry. I have also had other cold calls offering me better deals later on & on my last one around October/November in 2011 they tried to tie me into a new 18 month contract & I made it clear I was no interested they then said they would do this without any contract so I could see for my self the benefits & would be happy. I agreed to this but the customer services in the UK had no record or any amendments to my policy. I have dug out my customer complaints e-mails from last year with all the issues & will be going through the motions of there complaints procedure again. Talk Talk could be a good service but it seems the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing, the comments I make here are only the tip of the ice berg & much more has gone on by far so this only reflects my personal views on there service.

We switched to TalkTalk and were guaranteed by the salesperson that we would never get less than 2Mb speed. To start with speeds were around 3.5 Mb, which was fine. Now, as with EVERY OTHER broadband service I've ever subscribed to, speeds have gradually dropped and dropped over the last 12 months. Now I'm regularly getting less than 0.5 Mb during the day. It's an absolute disgrace..and you know that if you ring up and complain, they will make you jump through hoops, checking a dozen technical things in your home, when you KNOW the problem lies with them and their policy of throttling back broadband speeds and giving priority to customers who pay more. It's blackmail really..pay more or be one of the mugs who gets slower speeds.

Lost internet connection ISP end. phoned customer service. 'overseas' helper didn't have a clue, reading off a trouble shooter list. Claimed my router was incompatable (the one thats been working fine for years). Told me to get a Talk Talk branded one before they could offer anymore support. Internet resumes after 1.5 weeks of own accord (engineering works finished or something). Emailed to complain about service (lack of customer/internet service)compensation. Gave me £3 as they only calculated the time since I emailed them to complain, and not since I phoned/or actual time of loss of service.

Just had a phone cal from TT to 'review' my contract. Soon became apparent that "are you happy with the service" means "do you want to enter into a new, 24 month contract without actually being asked a direct question?"

I asked for e-mail of offer, Ts & Cs etc. Couldn't be done. I wasn't content to agree first and see what I had agreed to afterwards, or to root around TT's website trying to guess which package I was being offered.

Went round the houses several times. When threatened with being put onto monthly terms, I retaliated by threatening to look for another provider. Suddenly, I could have the offer by e-mail. Hasn't arrived yet, and I'm inclined to look elsewhere anyway, given the underhand way in which TT tried to get me to stay.

If one could give negative points, and so it too much. Disposing of, ignoring, no signal at the outlet from the very beginning and very slow internet 1mbs below. żenada. and the only advice is pay for the engineer in August, repair or check your speed and plug the computer cable to the router. really interesting really regret this choice

For no reason I've been placed on a max 1Mb package since I signed up in July. & despite ringing them up constantly over the last 6 weeks since they let this slip they've still not managed to flip the switch to give me more bandwidth! An hr on phone to CS in India each time, doing same tests over again! Not kept 1 promise or refund. Paying £15 pm bb alone! As soon as contract runs out I'm off!! Don't consolidate your package with Talk talk!!

I have had TalkTalk broadband for 12 months now and i can say that it is the slowest broadbabd connection i have ever had. I am changing to an internet stick. It is cheaper and more consistant and gives me a downloade speed twice that of TalkTalk even though i only have a 3G connection with the stick.
    Verry disapointed.

TalkTalk accidentally cut off our broadband after they updated our contract. They admitted their mistake. Six weeks later,42 different customer service workers, numerous nationalities, all mannerly who promise you the earth. Unfortunately most of it was made up as they were going along . No two people had the same story even though it was on their screens. After 7 weeks of no TalkTalk broadband i'm back with BT.To add insult to injury they are trying to fine me £138.67 for breaking a contract.........Im sorry but as they cut me off [by accident] Did they not break the contract??? I've tried my best to resolve this , spent hours on the phone talking to mis informed third world country call centres, and listening to 'on hold loop music'. Talk Talk should be ashamed of their customer service. Cheap customer service =no service!!!!

If we could recieve any worse a service within the year we have been within them, i would be suprised. The broadband has never worked properly, and talktalk have blamed it on everything possible, but never admitted to it being a fault at their. A highly unreliable service, with terrible technical support. Spent a year trying to resolve constant connections issues. It is infuriating.

Having been with AOL for many years, I was only too pleased to sign up for a further 18 months, especially as they were offering a reduced rate for the same package. They even convinced me to change my direct debit from my debit card to my bank account to save a further couple of pounds. Only when i was asked to complete a TalkTalk survey did the doubts start. After one month, no problems. At the start of the second month, I suddenly found I had no telephone, no broadband, nothing. I was able to ring BT who offered to send out an engineer. Then the postman arrived, with a letter from AOL saying that I owed them £27. Strange I thought, surely I have a Direct Debit facility. I borrowed my neighbours laptop to check my e-mails, which included my last AOL statement. Sure enough it confirmed that I had a Direct Debit set up, and I need take no action to pay the £27 bill! When I rang them, they explained that they hadn't been able to set up the new Direct Debit in time for the payment date, and since the amount was overdue, they had shut me down. I certainly wouldn't recommend them, even though they have given me one month free service in compensation. I'ld rather have AOL back, thank you.

We have been with talk talk for a few months now with excellent service and download speeds. Plusnet speeds topped out at 500 kbits download MAX. Now its a regular 1 - 1.5mbits! They have brand new equipment in our exchange and the only provider here that can give more than 8mbit service (talktalk 14mbit) but they actually deliver real download speeds. Very happy from my household

rarely get over 0.28meg speed - cannot stream on demand tv or youtube
and every two months they call to sell me more products and service - which I dont want and which makes them more expensive than BT - and they are telling me that they can extend my contract every time they call - which I repeatedly tell them I dont want it extended - in fact if I could get out now I would!! It's a crap service and I believe I am now paying more than I was before with BT

When it works it is not too bad but usually slow and inconsistent and unreliable. Response delay is terrible. Service is generally very bad with telephone support nil. Took 10 hours and talking to at least 10 people and something like 15a telephone calls along with a engineer home visit before any improvement on the service which was intermittent and went off completely for hours or days. This even when I told them that it was their local/profile setup. The engineer who came agreed with me. Still took 2 weeks before I got any response.
Will leave them although the phone package is good!

Having seen all the bad press about TalkTalk, I am a little surprised to admit that for me, actually its been a good service. Reliability has been very good (compared to previously VirginMedia) drop outs have been almost non-existent, help desk has been easy to get through to and pretty responsive. Phone service has been fine. Nuff said...?

Absolutely CRAP. Speed now at 512mbps paying same as everyone else (previously tiscali and talk talk just don't want to know) Can't even be bothered solving ANY technical issues which are constant as exchange is %miles away (last technical problem solved by myself and my own BT Engineer) Find someone who actually provides a service, rather than talk talks about it !!!! I wouldn't seriously give talk talk any star rating for anything they are supposed to be providing especially in a rural area when it comes to speed. Ombudsman here I come !!! (just tired of the crap service now and constant on going technical issues we do not occur anywhere other than the exchange and changes being done at talk talk, yet they continue telling me the faults are this end when BT engineers confirmed otherwise) What they advertise and what they charge are 2 completely different things, check your bills

Talk Talk, and before that Tiscali, are without any doubt whatsoever the worst ISP on the planet. I cannot think of one good thing to say about them, they are just absolute rubbish! The only reason I've given them one star in each of the categories listed is because the zero option wasn't available.

Pushy Sales Jabber, Speed deteriorating, Can't wait to bin BT Line Rental charges a total 'Ripoff'.

Research to date suggests that the only 'improved' alternative is to go fibre optic because of distance from exchange, that is the bottom line here folks, 'DISTANCE FROM EXCHANGE' and more importantly,'CUSTOMER SERVICE'!!!!

Appalling customer service with low levels of knowledge and insufficient grasp of the English language. An issue remained unsolved at time of switching despite promises over a three month period.

Some emails for update information were ignored.

A previous problem was only resolved when I insisted they follow the instructions I gave them and not their provided script.

Have been with TalkTalk since July 2009. Supose to have gone livein the July I eventually got my router in August only after I told them I was cancelling with them, Someone had not orderd it, had to call them around 8 times about this and blatently lied to all but the last time when i was phoning to cancel. Billing a joke had to cancel my direct debit with my bank and in the end change my bank as they were trying from the oct of 2009 to take the money from my account day's earlier than dd set up for so i was getting hit for nonpayment by them and bank charges because of the nonpayment also late payment fees by talktalk. it was costing me around £200pa to have talktalk dd. Upgraded computers april 2010 have had no security from them since then but still being billed for it even now, TT ask me to switch fromn essentials to pluss package in August 2010 still waiting and being charged for the download boost that was cancelled when I agreed to switch£4.00pm + the£2.00pm for security. I am promissed at least twice a month that i have been switched over when i have not been so still being charged for calls that should be cheaper or free. Router went down 18th sept 2010 bought my own got fed up with waiting for equivilent to be dispatched got that Jan this year from them. Been disconnected twice even though bill was paid. To be honest for a comunication company the dont communicate with each other or the customer. They have failed to honner there contrat with me from July 2009 yet threaten me when i say im wanting mac code to go else where I believe i would be with in my rights to walk from the last5 months of this contract i have never recieved any appologies or real offers of compensation from them. I desperatly want a new Provider and soon as they just talk but dony doMy oppinion of them is rubbish all this is factual not like them fictional in there stories to cover there backs sorry but the customer is not ever right in there eyes incompedent

Changed to Talktalk as they promised better speeds in this area as they had their equipment in the Richmond Exchange. Have noticed no improvement - still less than 1Mb download and .25 Mb upload. Snails pace remains.

Constantly loosing connections or no connection at all. loose connection once other users of other broadband suppliers start logining to the system get chucked off straight away. keeping connection all day long is poor. on and off connection at anytime of the day. christmas eve and all over the weekend no connection at all no line of wireless connection.

Brilliant! Despite all the dire warnings, I chose TalkTalk. The installation went like clockwork, everything worked first time, download speeds are unbelievably fast. I am amazed and delighted!
